Skidding into halt, Zuyuan tried to stabilize himself from the impact of the demon's claw. Even though the impact had been absorbed by his armor, Zuyuan could still feel the force behind it. The left side of his waist had a small, long wound, but his armor had successfully defended Zuyuan's body from the attack.
As Zuyuan was about to pursue the purple demon with Estgard ready in his hand, suddenly, a whirlwind rose under the demon's feet and encompassed the demon completely.
*Clang* *Clang* *Clang*
Noise of metal clashing against metal could be heard while the demon had received countless small cuts on his body. Although the winds weren't enough to make a deep slash, each cut was everywhere except on his eyes.
Bellowing loudly, the demon waved his remaining arm that was glowing in purple light. Banishing the whirlwind with one wave, the demon was about to seek the unknown assailant before vines suddenly sprouted from the ground and tightly shackled the demon's arm, legs, and his neck.
Realizing that someone was trying to kill the demon while it was distracted, Zuyuan was about to charge and behead it, before he was stopped by the beastman who had destroyed his doppelgangers and was dashing towards his direction. Deciding to put the demon's presence aside, Zuyuan continues to battle against the beastman with their ghost-like speed.
"You really are an *sshole."
Admits the chaotic battles around the demon, a woman's voice that was directed to him could be heard. The woman was the previously mentioned elf, Elise, who now pointed her glowing staff at the purple demon with a cold expression.
"B*tch! What are you doing!? You can't kill a missionary of the same side!" shouted the demon as he morphed back into his human form. He was a human male that wore a suit and also the one who had spoken to Elise before the goblins arrived on the grassland.
"Says who?" Asked Elise back while she closed her outstretched palm slowly. At the same time, the vine that wrapped around the man's neck tightened until he had a hard time to breathe.
The man's face was pale in color as blood flowed down from all over the wounds on his body and from his left shoulder of where his left arm should be. Gritting his teeth, the man threatened loudly, "You will receive punishment from killing your own teammates! Don't push your luck! I still have trump card that i-"
The man's words were cut short as Elise didn't bother to know what he wanted to say. After strangling the man in broad daylight, Elise chanted a quick spell and another whirlwind had appeared under the man's feet while it shredded the man's body.
[You had killed the Missionary of the same side, 2000 Death points were deducted.]
[You had killed the Missionary named David. You would receive information of the equipment that David had worn.]
[Congratulations! You have received the Ring of Bewitching!]
After a series of notifications in her head, a ball of light materialized right in front of Elise. The light soon flew up to Elise's ring finger and formed into a golden ring with a radiant, ruby gem in it. The gem was carved into some kind symbol as it was embedded perfectly to the ring.
[Name: Ring of Bewitching
Rarity: Fixed
Rank: Magic
Defense: 3~5
Special Trait: Bewitch
Bewitch: A spell to hallucinate the target or opponents of the user. The closer the range or the more intimate the user with the target, the more effective the spell would be. The spell would be able to materialize unto the forms of smokes to increase the radius of the spell.
Background: The ring that had been used by one of the great hypnotists on his planet.]
Reading through the description of the ring, Elise snorted as she murmured softly, "Guess this is how he could do that illusion thing."
Remembering the trick the man had done to her that night, Elise's mood became sour. Trying to distract herself from her own train of thoughts, Elise turned her body and attacked random missionaries that were on the goblins' side.
Back again to Zuyuan's side, he was still dealing against the beastman and had no idea that the demon had already died, nor did he have the time to take a look. Even though both of them moved at a fast speed, it was nowhere near the speed when they had started. As if a tacit understanding had been created, both of them knew that their stamina wouldn't last for long so they tried to probe each other between their exchanges.
However, out of nowhere, a warhammer was swung towards the beastman right from his back. Sensing the approaching danger from his instinct alone, the beastman ducked to avoid the incoming blow.
But his abrupt duck was not without a consequence. Not wanting to miss the chance, Zuyuan sent a kick right at the beastman's head with his Qigong wrapped in the armor on his leg.
*Bang!*
Blowing the beastman away and tilting his head a bit into an unnatural direction, Zuyuan was about to follow with another barrage of attacks before his path was blocked by the warhammer that showed up suddenly.
Looking at the owner of the warhammer, Zuyuan instead saw a familiar figure. He was Rimon, the troll. Rimon shook his head to convey that Zuyuan shouldn't chase the beastman.
Frowning, Zuyuan was about to ask why before suddenly Ling Zhue moved at his side in a flash. Ling Zhue glanced at the beastman in a brief moment before fixating his gaze at Zuyuan. With a troubled expression on Ling Zhue's face, he spoke with a concerned voice.
"Uncle, we have a problem."
