Close - Gary

Gary was sitting outside in the field talking to Ruby, Kenneth was still on his trip so it gave Gary the perfect chance to get closer to Ruby.

"I just think Dave is trying to get me expelled..." Gary grumbled as he pulled up pieces of grass. Ruby smirked slightly.

"I'm sure he's not, he's just always a bit weird around new kids..." Ruby explained looking at Gary. He was still pulling up grass with his gaze tilted down. She carefully lay her head on his shoulder. That made him look at her. His cheeks had pinked up and Ruby could hear his heartbeat accelerate. Gary didn't know what to do. He'd never been in a relationship before. He hadn't even talked to a girl before he'd joined the school. He felt so stupid, he'd wanted this forever and now it was happening he didn't know what to do. He tensed up and Ruby laughed.

"What?" Gary asked worried he'd done something wrong. Ruby looked up at him with her eyes sparkling.

"You don't need to be so on edge all the time!" Ruby responded, still laughing. He smiled and looked into her eyes. Her laugh was really pretty. He wrapped his arm around her waist as she lay her head back down on his shoulder. The bell went for class and they both groaned. Ruby jumped up and held out a hand for Gary, who took it and got up. Ruby smirked as she pecked his cheek.

"See you later Gary!" She laughed as she ran off, leaving Gary standing there goofily grinning to himself. He touched his cheek, internally celebrating that he'd been kissed. Eventually he wandered inside to class.
