Her mother scowled at her hurt expression. "Aimes' don't cry." She hissed and walked back upstairs. Rainbow brushed her tears away and turned to Starlight. "Can you deal with this? I need some fresh air..." She asked. Starlight pouted at her.
"You only just got back!" She huffed, not wanting to become the mother again. Rainbow frowned and eventually Starlight gave in and let her go.
Rainbow walked down the stairs and lifted the twins off of the cooking hob. Food. That was another problem. That and clothes. She sighed as Janie came into the kitchen completely naked.
"No, no sweetie, where did the football top go?" Rainbow asked knowing that the top wasn't even Janie's but at this point anything was better than nothing.

"Hey Derek." She responded not having time to deal with him as she focused on the younger kids. Derek was her older brother but most people mistook him for her father. He had emerald green eyes and dark brown shaggy hair. He always smelled like smoke from his terrible addiction.
"Can you help me with my tie?" He asked. She glanced at the knot around his neck and stood up, going to help him.
"New job interview?"
"Yeah... I'm balancing 3 jobs currently but the rent's due in a week and I'm not making enough."
She hummed knowingly.
"What's for dinner?" She asked
"I dunno, I'm thinking Chinese takeaway?"
"Sounds good."
She finished his tie and stepped back. "You're going to get this one." She smiled.
He gave her an untrusting look and left. Rainbow turned around to get back to helping Janie but she was gone. She sighed. She'd asked to go for a walk anyway. She was so frustrated and was suffocating in this small house.
She walked out of the house and took a deep breath. It wasn't her. Being mother. Being popular girl. Being an A student. She was just a scared little girl like the others...
