Gary pushed open the front door and was instantly greeted by a servant who told him that his father wished to see him. Gary groaned, had his father changed his mind while he was out?
He walked up the grand staircase and along the hall knocking on the door before entering.
"Ah! Gary. I wanted to know if you'd chosen a school yet." His father asked. Gary shuffled nervously trying to think of what to respond.
"Uh... Yeah... of course I chose one..." he started, searching his mind for the name of a school. He didn't want to say he hadn't chosen one because his father might take advantage of it. "It's... uh... SummerVille High!" He blurted out. It was the first name in his mind.
His father raised an eyebrow. "That's a state school." He stated, but it had an underlying question.
"Yeah... I thought... it might be good for me to meet some normal kids, you know? Then I wouldn't get treated differently..." Gary reasoned, coming up with these points off the top of his head.
Jacob stood up and walked over to Gary, he placed his hands on Gary's shoulders. "If it's what will make you happy... I guess it's fine..." he concluded. Gary grinned and hugged his father tightly.
"Thanks dad!" He mumbled into his father's chest.
