Rainbow was so embarrassed. She couldn't believe that she'd had to be saved like that... And by a Sheffield! She would've died if he hadn't shown up. What a stupid death... crushed by a tree because of her own magic... she groaned.
She'd dropped Gary off at his house so that he wouldn't follow her home secretly. She didn't trust him. He was a Sheffield.
Once she arrived back home the sun was starting to set. Derek had returned from his job interview with Chinese take away and was warming it in the oven. Starlight had managed to gather half of the children for dinner, as there wasn't enough for all of them. The ones who had dinner wouldn't have breakfast tomorrow, it was just how it worked.
"Rainbow! About time!" Starlight greeted and Rainbow returned a strained smile. "It's your turn for dinner so..." Rainbow had started to walk away.
"You can have it, I'm going to bed." She told Starlight, who jumped at the prospect of lunch and dinner.
Rainbow walked upstairs into her bedroom. Gary Sheffield. He was this generation's Sheffield. The one she had to kill.
