Let’s have a chat - Rainbow

Rainbow walked down corridors and hallways absentmindedly, finding herself standing in front of Gary's and Barry's dorm room. She stood outside the door hesitantly. What was she even going to say? How could she apologise when she had a point? But how could she leave the group? She and Gary weren't even friends so why had she become so bothered that he wouldn't be able to sit at their table? Then the door opened, startling her and making her squeak as she jumped.

"Hey RB!" Bradley greeted laughing at her small squeak, evidently amused that he'd made her jump. "Hey Barry? RB's at the door!" He called into the room. He pat her on the head and she crossed her arms. They always treated her like she was some sort of pet or younger sibling. He walked out the room calling a 'see you later' before catching up to someone walking down the hallway. Rainbow slipped into the dorm room, she didn't visit the boys' dorms very often but was always surprised by how different they were from the girls' dorms.

"So RB. Why are you here?" Barry asked, turning around in the centre of the room. She shifted from foot to foot uncomfortably. He was obviously mad at her. His voice sounded so cold. There was no more charisma or mocking banter in it. Just coldness. In all honesty, she didn't understand why she kept fighting against him. She had no reason.

"I… I u-um… wanted to… apologise f-for earlier." Rainbow answered, hesitating as he came closer. As he stood over her, he was tall and intimidating, making her want to sink into the ground and cry. His face was completely unreadable. That was what frightened her. She hated it when he shut down like that.

"Really?" Barry questioned, seeming intrigued as to where this was headed. She nodded, not trusting her voice anymore. He leaned closer and smirked as she squirmed away from him in discomfort. "If you really mean it, then kiss me and finish my dare." He challenged, forcing a step closer to her, pressing her into the wall so that she couldn't escape.

"S-stop it. I don't want to. I just came to apologise." Rainbow hurriedly confessed, trying to wiggle out from his grasp on her. He lifted her chin and stared into her scared eyes that were now starting to well up. He came closer to her and she started shaking, uncomfortable with his closeness. "I-I'll stop talking to Gary… and meeting him and stuff!" She hastily blurted out. She didn't mean it in the slightest but anything to get out of this situation was good enough.

"Really…" Barry mused, thinking it over, before patting her head and ruffling her hair, messing it all up with a "good girl" in an uncharacteristically sly tone. He stepped back and she wobbled slightly after being allowed stand on her feet again. She studied him for a second and then slipped out of the room. She knew that when she did meet up with Gary again that Barry would find out and beat her up. She felt sick. She scrambled over to her dorm room, feeling awful. If Barry never talked to her again it would be too soon. She fell to the floor near her bed and collapsed into a sobbing heap. Why couldn't she just talk to Gary? Why couldn't she be free of worrying about him killing her? That was why she hadn't told him where her dorm was. So that he couldn't murder her in her sleep. Maybe she was overthinking things again. Maybe she was relapsing…
