Chapter 4 - Thank you for the Meal~

Whew. My parents really went at it hard. And it wasn't even actual sex yet. Kinda jealous of Wei Bai, he's gotten such a nice wife. And so far, my mom seems pretty pleasant, so I'm happy as it is. More importantly, I wanna know about Qi! Can I get some? I wanna use it! Huuuuup. Haaaaaa. Okay. Calm down Runa. Breathe in. Breathe out. Whew. Close your eyes, and listen to mom's heartbeat. Feel my surroundings. Compare it to the void I remembered, and identify all there is. I can... I can feel the cool spring air. The thick blanket on top of me. The warm and soft cloud marshmallows enveloping me~. Uuuuuh. Nope. I've got nothing. The best I've got is the nice enticing smell coming from Mom's cloud marshmallows. Welp. It looks like there's nothing I can do right now, so I might as well enjoy the feeling of the softest thing in the whole world. I wish I could keep using it as my bed, it's so warm and cushiony and soft and bouncy, it's the best~! 😆 Haaaa~ Letting out a content sigh, I drift off into sweet slumber with Mom's comforting heartbeat as my lullaby.

Next morning.

As I slowly open my eyes, awoken by the hunger gnawing deep inside me, I looked at mom's beautiful face and stretched out my hand towards her cheek. Patting it awkwardly as hard as I could, I tried to awaken her as soon as possible to get some milk. But still, she sleeps. Haaaa. Forgive me for this. I inwardly plead. I jammed my cute stubby finger up into mom's nose, blocking as much of her breathing as I could.

"Hnnnggh... nnnghhhh hnngh.." An Xin softly cried out as she tried to breathe.

Oops! Right, better close her mouth. I pushed my hand against her chin as hard as I could with my newborn body.

"Hmmmnnnnnnngah!" An Xin huffingly cried out, gasping for breath, hurriedly rising her body up.

And as she did that, it was at this moment. ( ﾟдﾟ') I realised, I fucked up. And I hurriedly grab the nearest thing to me, which just so happened to be the pointy tips on the cloud marshmallows.. And as I grabbed onto it for dear life, a little milk spilt out, and my fingers slipped. Ah.

Well, it was a nice barely-12-hours of my new life, at least I enjoyed myself with the softest cloud marshmallows ever. It was great.

As I thought stoopid thoughts like that, An Xin cried out sweetly like a canary. "Ahhnn~!!!"

While enjoying that sweet and gentle pinch of her tips, An Xin slowly widened her eyes at the sight of her newborn daughter flying across the bedroom, and instinctively pumped her Qi into high gear all over her body, flashed across the room behind me, disappearing from my eyes.

As all this was happening, my last thoughts as I closed my eyes were : I wished I could feel those soft cloud marshmallow mountains again... *Duuuun~Booiiing~*

Yeah, just like that. Man. I'm even feeling phantom mountains in my last moments in this new world. It even feels like I'm floating on clouds right now.....wait a minute. Why does it feel like I've stopped? Have I hit the ground already and the softness I felt was actually the soft, yet-to-be-hardened skull of mine? As I hesitatingly opened my eyes a little, An Xin was panicking while trying to comfort me as best as she could.

"Heavens! What have I done! I almost threw you to your death! Mommy is so, so so sorry! Are you okay??! Forgive mommy okay?" An Xin anxiously cooed as she swayed me around at her bosom, as tears threaten to spill out of her pair of watery, apatite-like eyes.

Speaking of which, it's now much easier for me to keep my eyes open. I might as well use this chance to take a closer look at mom.

An Xin's round, almost baby-like face is adorned with a pair of shining, watery apatite-like eyes, a smol, straight, and slightly upturned nose, thin yet succulent, full lips and the curves of her face ending in a sharp chin. With such a beautiful mother, I guess I could enjoy a pleasant view-hehe, I mean, childhood. Yeah. Wait, that's not the point here, I need to comfort mo-

...Huh? What's this cooling yet oddly pleasant breeze-like feeling coursing through my body?? Is this Qi? Or maybe some kind of healing technique? Seems very interesting~ I wanna learn it! YES!! PLEASE! Qi! Haaaaa~ Even if I get excited, it's not like I can do anything, since this Qi belongs to mom. I don't even know how I could move it myself. Moving it with my will alone seems very unscientific. I know what I'm saying. Unscientific? In a fantasy world?? Heh. Hilarious. But hear me out okay? If you look at it from a scientific point of view, Mana, Qi, Ki, whatever you want to call it, seems to be a type of energy with different properties and capabilities. Allowing those who are able to wield it to perform supernatural feats normally impossible by mere fleshly limits. The problem here would be interacting with it. What are the requirements? Fobbing such important things, chalking it up to the word 'talent' seems extremely irresponsible, at least in my point of view. Hmmm. I'm thinking too much now. Right now the most important thing is to calm mom down and get mah milk.

"Are you hurt?? Is it painful? Mommy will heal you up real good okay?" An Xin gently whispered in an attempt to pacify me. Well, I won't deny it, it's nice. I guess I'll enjoy it for now.

"Whew~ It looks like you're not hurt anywhere Yan Yan, that's good, that's good. Mommy's so sorry for letting that happen to you. I really should be more careful there." An Xin reproached herself.

No, mom, I should be more careful. To not get thrown off. Lesson learned. Time to move on to a very pressing matter. I'm hungry.

"Auuh~ Aooow~!" I cried out as I grabbed at the glorious cloud marshmallow mountains.

"Oh? Is Yan Yan hungry? Okay! Be patient okay? Let mommy make some extra delicious milk for you, okay?" An Xin happily replied to me as she closed her eyes. She seems to be concentrating on the technique she mentioned yesterday.

After waiting for what felt like an eternity of hunger, mom finally reopened her eyes, using her left hand to direct the tip of her marshmallows to my mouth, while carrying me on her right hand.

"Okay, I'm ready, Yan Yan. Enjoy~!" An Xin smilingly confirmed as she pulled me in closer to her bosom.

"Auu.. Aoohm~" I hummed out as I opened my mouth to suck on mom's teat.

*sup* *chup* *schuop* *gulp* *sllup* *ssrrup*

Oh yeah, I read somewhere that the way the baby sucks on the mother's teat actually allows the mother's body to customize the milk according to the baby's needs. Even for twins, if they change sides, the mother's breasts can actually differentiate and change up the contents of the milk. Seems suuuper high tech. Gj nature. Wp. I wonder how much of it is true though?? Weeeeeelll in this case, I guess I should succumb to my instinct, and let my body suck in whatever way it wants to. Annnd, I'll pay attention to the milk contents. Apparently mom made some improvements to the milk using Qi, so I'm excited to discover the mysteries of this new and improved milk. Maybe it'll even let me feel and connect to the Qi in it?

"Ahn~ You must be very hungry Yan Yan, to suck so hard~ Sorry for keeping you waiting, okay? And thank you for being patient~ Your father needs his sleep or he wouldn't be able to work properly, Teehee~!" An Xin cooed as she stroked my head with her left hand. Heh. 😏 Don't bully each other too much now mom and dad.
