Sunday June 18th, 2056

[Sunday, June… 18th, two thousand and fifty six?]

After Andrew repeated in his mind what that person said, his mind cleared up.

[That's, impossible. I just passed out right? Or did I die? No, if I had died I wouldn't be in this room. This must be some unfunny prank by the whole class. Though, Keil isn't the person to do this, and neither are the others. I can't think of someone who would think this is funny.]

A glass door to the room where he lies, opens. A young female in a white coat walks inside. She is covered from head to toe with clothing, including a face covering mask.

Andrew looks at her.

[Why would I be here? Could she answer that question? If this really is 2056, shouldn't I have aged? I don't feel like I've aged.]

A cloth covering Andrew's body prevents him from looking at himself, but he knows he is naked underneath.

"Good morning, Andrew. Can you hear me?" The woman says to him.

[I can hear you, but trying to talk feels odd. I want to know where I am first.]

"You're probably wondering where you are."

[What, did I say it out loud?]

"However, I can't tell you right now. Your body is still weak and susceptible to diseases, so we will have you rest for another week."

[I didn't even say I could hear her, but it doesn't seem like I said it out loud. I don't know what to ask, I can't even see her face clearly. Let's try to talk about… something at the least.]

Andrew opens his mouth. The woman looks surprised, as if it were the first time she saw something special, and looks over at the rest of the people outside the room. They give her a thumbs up signal, and she looks at Andrew again.

"What..." Andrew starts.

[Holy shit, that hurts my throat, but I can't stop now that I've started, I need to know at least this much.]

"is your… name?" He asks. The woman still looks surprised at him.

[I wanted to ask where I was, not this. I'll ask it later.]

"My name is Doctor (...), but you can just call me Helen. I'll be your personal nurse for your rehabilitation period here."

The surname of Helen gets muffled by another sound, and Andrew isn't able to pick it up.

[Helen.]

"I know you probably have a lot of questions, but we need to put you to sleep for another week to strengthen your body. After you wake up, you should have enough strength to talk."

[To talk? I spoke just now. It did hurt a lot so maybe she means that.]

"The fact that you spoke this early after waking up surprised me, really." Helen says. "I haven't seen that before in any other patients. Let's hope your full rehabilitation is also as quick as this."

[Patients? Full rehabilitation period? What the fuck is going on? I need to know! Answer me!]

Andrew tries to speak again.

"No, no, don't try to talk. It could damage your vocal cords and then they might not heal properly." Helen says, as she holds his mouth shut. "I am going to put you into a medically induced coma now, we will wake you up in a week."

Andrew isn't coming up with a response, not even in his mind. He just closes his eyes.

"Nice of you to cooperate. Okay, everything is set. See you in a week!" Helen says cheerfully. She holds two thumbs up to the other doctors, and someone behind the glasses presses a few buttons.

"Andrew, this could sting a little." She says, and those were the last words Andrew heard, before a slight shock flies through his body.

[What the… what… happ… en… ed.]

His thoughts stop, and to Andrew it feels like he has fallen asleep. Helen exits the room and closes the door behind her. She pulls off her mask and looks at Andrew through the glass, with a smile.
