Chapter IV

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The door flew open and a beautiful Latina in pajamas was standing at the door, glaring at Tenko. Derek looked between Tenko and the Latina. He could feel the tension.

Tenko put on an awkward smile. "Hey, Jen...."

"Fuck no! Whatever you want, you can't get from me. You burnt that bridge!" Jennifer refused.

"Psh, Come on, Jen. You know you didn't want to be apart part of my mess anyway. What did you tell me when we started up?"

Jennifer pursed her lips and squinted at Tenko. "It don't matter what I said. You ghosted me. That shit hurts, I thought we were friends, at least."

"Jen, it doesn't work like that. You think I didn't know you could hear the voices of the people I killed. You're not the first banshee I've met. You can't use a phone or anything with a signal, it's like putting an antenna on you. I care for you and understand you are a very strong banshee and until you can control your power we can't talk." He said.

"You could have written a letter," she said.

Derek smiled and fought back his laughter. Jennifer frowned and honed in on the sound of his snickers, she then looked at him and tilted her head with a blank face

"No! Jen don't. Whatever you have to say he doesn't need to hear it. Look, we can talk as long as you want. But I really need your help." Said Tenko.

Jennifer blinks a few times and frowned again at Derek. "You shouldn't have met him. Come in..."

Jennifer turned around and walked into the house. Derek looked around and noticed that the house had no electricity and was lit by candles. There were no electronics anywhere and the furniture was oddly placed.

"Anything that vibrates predicts or tells her about death. The furniture is spaced to even out the acoustics in the room." Tenko told Derek.

"How strong his she?" Derek asked.

"She can turn the Capital Building into rubble with a whistle if she ever learned to control her power," Tenko explained.

"Damn," Derek said a little spooked.

"Sexy, right?" Tenko asked with a big smile.

"Only to you, T. " Jennifer spoke up. "So what's up?"

Tenko sat in a chair and got serious. " Alpha claws. If they speak we need someone to listen."

"How old?"Jennifer asked.

"A couple of weeks?" Derek replied.

Jennifer raised an eyebrow.

"Derek, how old was your sister?" Tenko asked

"Oh, she was 25," he said.

Jennifer nodded. "I can do it. do you have them?"

"No, we need to get the other half of her body back first. I was hoping you can come to Beacon Hills in a few days." Said Tenko.

"Abuela is taking me to Mexico in four days. Come back with the claws and I can help you out. If I can't, my Abuela can." Said Jennifer.

"What's the price?" Tenko asked.

Jeniffer put her hand up. "You're good. Just get back here."

Tenko nodded and thanked her. He then gestured to Derek to wait outside so he could have few words with Jennifer. He apologized to her and she apologized for hiding her pain from him.

When Tenko got back to the car. He looked at Jennifer standing on the porch for a moment before pulling off.

"You're going to pay her anyways aren't you?"

"Yes I am."

"So what happened there?" Derek asked.

"You mean between me and Jen?" Tenko asked.

Derek nodded his.

"Have you ever done the right thing and sometimes bad shit happened? Have you ever came to terms with the shit you've done and then something happens or you meet someone that makes you regret the things you've done regardless if they were done with good or bad intentions?"

Derek sat silently and just nodded his head. Tenko could smell the sadness that came from him.

"That's how it was for me and her. She could hear the lost souls that died by my claws and blades. When you wipe out a pack of wolves you have to kill them all or one will grow to hunt you down in the future. you're a walking example...

Even the death I indirectly caused follows me like a cloak of death. She tried to hide it but I knew what I was doing to her. So I left, I was just in town for a while before Beacon Hills. so it had to be down eventually." Tenko explained.

"So you left for her sake? To spare her the punishment meant for you," said Derek.

Tenko sighed. "Yupp. "

"Tough break. "

"Tell me about. But it's who we are. Death is required sometimes and you can't be afraid to take a life. So, how did you get those eyes? My first kill was a thirteen-year-old girl dragged to a battle she wasn't ready for." Said Tenko.

Derek stared out of a window for a moment. " Her name was Paige. She was my first love. I was young and stupid. I made some decisions and I was forced to give her mercy." Derek sighed heavily. "Every time I look in the mirror and see these cold blue eyes, I remember her."

Tenko sighed as well. "Tough break."

"Tell me about it," Derek replied.

"You know why I asked you that, Derek?"

Derek didn't say a word but turned to face Tenko.

"I swore I would gut the Alpha, But his power is your family legacy. If I gut him, can you rip his heart out?" Tenko asked

"You want to give up the power of an Alpha?" Derek asked.

"I'm not giving it up because it's not mine. It belongs to the Hale family... I know what it's like to have something that belongs to you, that people covet and seek to take no matter the cost." said Tenko.

"Who did you lose?" asked Derek.

"My Father... But answer the question?"

"I can take what's mine," Derek replied.

"As long as he's dead afterward." Said Tenko.

It was the dead of night when Stiles Stilinski and Scott McCall arrived at the old Hale House. The two of the fumbled over each other as the pulled shovels from Stiles' jeep.

With shovels in hand, Stiles and Scott made their way to fresh burial grounds and began to dig the up the mysterious remains. They panted and heaved until they dug five feet down and discovered something large and wrapped in cloth. Scott and Stiles began to untie the remains in a hurry.

"Hurry up," Said Scott in a hush and worried voice.

"I am. Did he have to tie it in like 900 knots?" Stiles replied.

After a moment of untying the bundle, Scott and Stiles found not a woman, but half of a wolf. Both of the boys jumped back in fright and climb out of the hole.

"What the hell is that?!" Stiles asked.

"It's...It's a wolf" Scott Gasped.

"Yeah, I can see that. Thought you told me you smelled blood... As in human blood." Stiles replied.

"I...I told you something was different."

"This doesn't make sense..." said Stiles. "We should get out of here."

"Yeah.." Scott replied

"Come on, help me cover it up."

The boys began to move in haste and fumbled around with the cloth wrapping to cover the dead wolf. Stiles happens to look up, worried that Derek would return and catch them. But Stiles soon notices a single purple floor a few yards away from him and the grave.

"What's wrong?" asked Scott.

"You see that flower?" asked Stiles.

"Yeah...What about it" Scott replied.

"I think it's wolfsbane..."

"What's that?" Scott asked

Stiles shakes his head. "Haven't you seen 'the Wolfman'?"

Scott shakes his head and Stiles scoffs. "Lon Chaney Jr.? Claude Rains? The original classic werewolf movie?"

"No, what?" Scott began to get frustrated.

Stiles shakes his head again and sighs. "You are so unprepared for this." He says as he walks over to the lone flower.

Stiles unearths the flower and finds that its roots are connected to a damp rope that is also buried.

Stiles begins to pull the rope up from the ground and is surprised to see that rope is longer than he expected and has more wolfsbane sprouting further down the line.

The more rope that Stiles unearths, he and Scott discover that the rope that is lain to form a spiral centered around the grave.

Scott looks into the grave and silently stands up as he gasps.

"Stiles..."

Stiles looks over and sees the shock on his friend's face. Collecting the last of the wolfsbane rope, Stiles walks over and looks in the hole as well.

"Whoa.." he gasps at the sight of a new human body in the grave.

"We have to tell your dad..." said Scott.

The boys look at each other and then back into the gave as the sighed together.

"Who's his dad?" a soft voice asked.

"Whoa!" Scott and Stiles jump back in unison. They turn around and saw a pretty petite woman with long wavy black hair, chestnut-colored eyes, and bird wings tattooed on her shoulders dressed in a bohemian style dress.

"What are you doing here?" She asked.

Scott and Stiles looked at each other and Stiles spoke up, "What are you doing here?" he asked in return

The woman had no time for games and replied, "I'm looking for my sister's killer. Is that an Alpha?" The woman asked as she stepped near the grave

"A-Alpha? What's an Alpha?" Scott asked.

"Like I said… so unprepared" Stiles felt slightly disappointed with his Best Friend and slight contempt towards his Best Friend for receiving a gift that he could have used to its full potential, unlike his friend that chooses to remain delusional to his new 'normal'.

"Alpha is a pack leader. There must be ranks in a werewolf pack like there are in actual wolf packs." Stiles explained

"Hmm, I would think you were the werewolf if I didn't know better" The woman addressed Stiles and Scott felt slightly offended.

"Who are you, again?" Stiles asked.

The woman was now in the grave examining the corpses, she looked up to Stiles and replied, "Mareth...Ravenlock."

Stiles' face slumped and his eyes went wide. "You're Lacy's older sister."

Mareth stiffens at the mention of her sister's name and glared at Stiles. "What can you tell me about her?"

"The dead girl? I mean... The one...in the hol... uhh... Which dead girl are you talking about?"

Scott palmed his face and Mareth ground her teeth as she held herself back. "My sister, you idiot."

"oh! Lacy? Well, nothing really. I know she was found by Mrs.Mason on her morning run in the woods, Her only friend alive is Sam Whitaker - she's in Eichen House, though, And my dad... Have you spoken to the sheriff yet?"

Mareth rolled her eyes. "The fool is clueless. He says an animal attacked her and Aria, but we both know that wasn't true."

"That fool is my dad" Stiles went on the defense.

Mareth smirked. "I can see the family resemblance now." Mareth quipped as she climbed from the grave.

"Do you know anyone else I could talk to?" She asked while patting down her dress.

"Aria's boyfriend. Tenko Nakashige." Stiles replied.

Mareth smiled and gave the boys a nod before disappearing into the night.

Mareth was walking through the woods a bit agitated by new revelations. Pulling out her phone with no regard to the time of night, Mareth dialed out.

The phone rang once, twice, five times before directing Mareth to a voicemail box. She scuffed and tried again.

"Hello" a man groggily answered.

"Deaton...We need to talk"

"...Mareth?" Deaton Gasped.

"The office in fifteen minutes," she said before hanging up.

Mareth put her phone away then froze when the sounds of guns loading rounds into their chambers, disturbed the quiet woods.

"Do I owe you money?" She asked. "If I do, you can't kill me if you want to collect... I'm sure my tab could pay for your kids' college tuition." Mareth continued to speak into the dark night.

"We don't want your money!" Said a middle-aged man with a crossbow.

Mareth looked at him, then the men he was with. "Hunters?"

"Smart girl. So a young woman in the scary woods, so far from home. One could almost call you little red."

"And you must be the huntsman coming to save me," Mareth replied.

The hunter smirked. "I always liked how fairytales skewed the facts. Little red didn't need saving, see, her cloak was actually gold and enchanted. And she was being hunted by the wolf and she wasn't in the woods to go to her grandmother's. Tell me, why was little red's cloak gold and enchanted? Why was she in the woods."

Mareth looked around at the hunters staring daggers at her and began to worry. "She--She was a druid, looking for the Duke's son, who had runoff."

The Hunter smiled. "Yeah, that's right. So little red, did you find the late Duchess's son?" he asked.

"No. I found her daughter...in half. Was that your doing?" Mareth asked.

The Hunter with the crossbow sighed internally. 'It's happening...' he thought. "Let's go." the man ordered his hunters.

"Wait... What kind of war has the Hale family brought to town?" Mareth asked.

The man didn't bother turning around as he replied, "A war Little Red should stay out of or she might find her self at the end of a silver sword this time."

Mareth's jaw tightened. "Argent..." she muttered as the man and his people vanished into the dark woods.

Sometime later, Mareth was sitting in a veterinarian clinic drinking a cup of tea. A tired-looking black man with a clean-shaven head walked into the room and took a seat across from Mareth. This man is Dr. Alan Deaton.

Deaton sipped his coffee and took a moment to gather his wits. "So what's got you so shaken up?" he asked Mareth.

"The Argents are in town. They're looking for Derek Hale, Deaton. When we talked on the phone before I got here, you said and I quote, 'I'm sorry, Mare. I don't know who killed your sister.' ..." Mareth put down her tea and focused on Deaton.

She then continued, "Did Derek Hale kill my sister? My little sister, the only family I had left in the world."

Deaton looked unfazed by the rising emotions in Mareth. "Are you sure they were looking for Derek Hale?"

"The Analogy was pretty fucking clear, Deaton! He called me Little Red and asked if I had found the late Duchess's son!" Mareth started to get emotional with Deaton's roundabout ways.

"What did you say?" he asked in a calm tone.

"I said, I found her daughter, in half!"

Deaton nodded. "So Duchess is code for alpha. Like the Duke was..."

"Das Biest von Schwalm. Yes! Deaton! He was talking about Talia Hale and her goddamn bastards. Now did he kill my sister?!" Mareth interrupted.

"No..." Deaton replied.

Mareth finished her tea then walked out the door.

"Where are you going?!" Deaton called after her.

"None of your damn business, Deaton!" She shouted.

Early the next morning. Tenko and Derek had pulled up to the Old Hale house and found it surrounded by police and a crime scene investigation unit.

When Tenko parked the car, a deputy recognized Derek Hale and immediately drew his weapon aimed at Tenko and Derek. Derek sighed and looked to his left.

"Why the fuck are you looking at me?" Tenko asked, "They want you."

"No. I'm looking at the stupid Beta," Derek replied and Tenko turned to his left and saw Scott.

Tenko scuffed, "More like Omega. But how could he do this?"

"He must have found her?"

Tenko's eyes widened. "Laura? You buried her near the fucking house?! Are you stupid, simple, or slow? Really, Derek. You can kiss the Banshee plan, goodbye. They are going to defile her remains." Tenko was furious.

Derek put his head down and his eyes shined cold blue. Tenko then looked in Scott's direction and growled. His eyes flash crimson-red and Scott shivered.

The truck doors were open, Tenko and Derek were pulled from their seats. Derek was immediately put in handcuffs while Tenko was being questioned by the Sheriff.

Tenko told the Sheriff that he and Derek shared a mutual friend in Sacramento that they had driven to go visit. The questioning was soon cut short when the Sheriff spotted his son in the car that was holding Derek.
