Chapter V

Tenko was driving down the road and thinking of new ways to catch the alpha without having to watch McCall all day. Now that the plan for the Alpha claws was dead in the water, he needed something new. He took a deep breath and tried to look at the problem from a different perspective.

Suddenly a woman appeared in the middle of the road. Tenko slammed on his breaks, but he wasn't fast enough. It was like an invisible wall, Tenko hits it dead center and the woman watches as the front of the truck was destroyed on contact.

The woman appeared at the driver's door and saw that the truck was empty. Looking through the truck to the other side of the road, her eyes widened with shock as a bloodied Tenko smiled and waved at her before a surge of black and white lightning ignited the truck's gas leak and caused the truck to explode.

Shrapnel from the truck blew outward in every direction, but Tenko wasn't present long enough to be injured. Tenko was now back in the woods, running on four legs, with three tails on his backside. On the Road, Mareth walked out of the flames with an indifferent face, surrounded by a layer of blue energy.

Sometime later, Tenko was in the locker room at Beacon Hills Highschool washing the blood and dirt from his body. He quietly laughed at him as he washed his hair.

'Alpha wants to toy with me, a loose canon Omega is running around, and now a Darach is trying to kill me. Haa, I'm already in the shit, I might as well go all the way and have some fun.' Tenko laughed at himself then turned the shower off.

Tenko dried himself and dressed. He was just about to grab a note pad and pen for the day's classes when he heard a heart beating like a steam engine. He then smelled a frightened and distraught Lydia rushing through the hallways.

Tenko moved at a quick pace and stepped into the hallway and stopped Lydia before she could leave the school. It was a few minutes before the first bell and the hallways gave them a decent audience. Lydia's popularity was a blessing and a curse as everyone watched.

Lydia had tears streaming down her cheek and her face was beet red. She looked at Tenko with her brow furrowed as she stepped back and looked him up and down. He even smelled fresh out of the shower as his cologne hit her nose.

'Not a scratch' she told herself.

Lydia's mouth now hung agape as she postured herself and swung to slap Tenko with all the strength of her emotions behind it. Tenko immediately caught her arm and snatched her towards him with a speed that made his action look cruel and vicious.

Lydia's heels scarp against the floor and caused her to stumble a bit but she was caught by Tenko with a gentleness that now stumped everyone. So focused on the latest drama it seemed like no one had even heard the first bell ring.

"Lydia, what's wrong?" he asked.

Lydia ground her teeth and pushed him, but he didn't move and his grasp of her forearm didn't falter in the slightest.

"I hate you!" she shouted. "I thought you died!" her voice began to crack.

Tenko let her arm go and held her face. He used his thumbs to wipe her tears away, but they kept coming.

"It's okay," he said in a soft voice. "It was just a little accident, it happens."

She held on to Tenko's wrist and enjoy the feel of his hands touching her.

"And now we can't be lab partners. I can't do this, Tenko. It wasn't a little thing. You weren't answering my calls or my text. Your mom called because she was worried I was with you. My heart thumb so hard it felt like my chest was going to explode. I don't want to feel like that ever again. "

Lydia then pulled his hand down from her face. She kissed them, then took a few steps back to wipe her tears. Tenko was about to speak when his mother grabbed him and pulled him into a hug.

"I knew were okay. Why didn't you call me?" She asked.

Tenko looked back at Lydia, then at his mom. "It went up with the truck," he said.

Lydia shook her head and walked away, she couldn't handle it. Tenko had just told her that it was a little accident. Then he tells his mother that his phone went up with the car. It exploded and she knew it. If, that was little for him, then caring about him was going to be nothing but one heartache after another.

"Everyone get to class! Now!" Mrs. Mason shouted.

The crowd started to move and she looked back at her son. " I knew she couldn't handle it. Let her go, Son. You'll find someone else. Go to class."

As Tenko was walking off. Mrs. Mason walked out and put her back against the brick wall. Suddenly it was like a dam had broke. Purple lightning spews from her hands and chars the brick wall. Thankfully she was grounded and kept people from getting hurt because of her lapse of emotions.

Just like Lydia, her heart was beating out of her chest. She was worried to death for her son and for a moment when his scent had disappeared in a cloud of smoke and the smell of gasoline, Mrs. Mason thought she had lost it all.

In the boys' locker room, Jackson was also in pain as he went to blows with the locker doors in rage. He could feel it just from watching them. The only thing that was stopping Lydia from cutting the cord and falling into Tenko's lap was, Lydia.

When he was injured on the field, Lydia didn't bat an eye. When the warning of long term injury was issued by the doctors, she pushed him to take more shots and to keep pushing on. But when Tenko gets into an accident and doesn't answer a few calls, for the first time ever, he had watched Lydia Martin crumble and succumb to emotions he didn't even know the cold bitch had.

He threw another punch at the locker door and it caved in. 'why?' he thought to himself 'Why me? Why do I have to lose everything when losers like McCall and Tenko keep on taking everything!'

Pah! Pah! Pah! Pah!

"Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Jackson stop!" Coach called out as he wrapped his arms around him and pulled him back.

"Whatever is wrong. I'm telling you now, It gets better, I promise."

"I'm losing it all, Coach!" Jackson cried. "It's like the walls are closing in on me and I can't breath...why is this happening to me?!"

Coach held him and his eyes watered. Jackson is his boy. "It's not over yet. But it will be if you keep this up. If you were anyone else, I would have pulled you out of here, sent you to the nurse's office, and wiped my hands clean of you. But I'm not going to do that to you. I'm going to let you go and were going to take a moment and think about what you want. Then you're going to get your ass out of my locker room and fight for it. Because if you don't, I'm your future. And you deserve more than this."

Jackson stared at the coach in awe and his breathing mellowed out. He nodded his head in agreement, then Jackson and Coach Finstock walked into his office.

As Tenko walked into his Latin class he noticed that Lydia's seat was empty.

"Tenko, I'm glad you're alright. Go ahead and take your seat. Get started on the tasks, written on the board." Said the Latin teacher.

Tenko took a look at the board then said, "I don't have a partner today."

"About that, Lydia will be taking my class another period. Since you're the odd man out, you can be my partner." She flashed a sympathetic smile and Tenko just nodded and went to his seat.

It was like that in every class he shared with Lydia. She was just gone.

Tenko was walking out of school when he realized that his truck had exploded. He sighed and was about to turn and just go to practice when a Bianco Fuji Pearlescent, 2012 Maserati Granturismo pulled up.

"Hey! Tenko Nakashige!" Mareth called out.

Tenko turned and laid eyes on the perfect distraction. But even though, couldn't pick up her scent during the crash, his instinct fire off when he approached the car. He then recognized her face from the accident. But the boyish smile remained on his face.

"Do I know you?" he asked. "You seem familiar."

Mareth smirked. "Are your foxy senses tingling, Tenko?" she asked.

"Foxy? interesting choice of words. So, what's up?"

"How about you hop in and we can talk about it," she said.

Tenko squinted at the woman and sized her up. She was wearing a simple blouse and black pants. " You know, I think you would be really pretty if you wore a dress. And drop-dead gorgeous if you don't try to kill me the next time you wear one."

Mareth frowned and a whisp of flames circle Tenko causing him to smile. "Get in the car or I'll fry you where you stand." she threatened.

"Just tell me what you want, Darach. And I promise to kill you in a way that's fitting of your offense." Tenko smiled remained on his face but Mareth was now confused.

"Darach, you think I'm one of those vile creatures?" Mareth asked offended.

"Druids, don't wield magic like this."

"Well, I'm special." she retorted.

"Aren't we both, babe."

Mareth grimaced.

"Look, I see you're not a killer, yet. You have it in you. But do you really want your first kill to be one that will doom your family and every generation to come?"

Mareth's emotions were bubbling up and the flames responded accordingly. But Tenko didn't flench, "Live by the sword, die by the sword."

"You have no remorse, do you? I've asked around about you, Tenko Nakashige. You appeared in Minnesota, caused a blood bath, and then vanished. You killed Emissasires sent to keep the peace, you--"

"I killed Scum!" he barked. " Traffickers of innocent people, murdered to be sold as flesh and blood bags! You don't know me. And if an emissary was sent to keep 'the peace' then yes, I gutted them like fucking animals, because the peace they wanted, got in the way of my vengeance for my friend."

"Did my sister get in your way? That's why you clawed her down?" Mareth's rage was taking over.

Tenko could feel his shoes melting and legs were cooking. The pain was something he could endure.

"And how many people did you sacrifice to get your power?" Tenko countered.

"Not a Soul!" Mareth lashed out this time.

Tenko smiled bigger to taunt her. "What's her name? Maybe I can remember the scent at the moment of her death. The warmth of her blood on my claws." he said.

Mareth lurched forward and Tenko quickly grabbed her arm and pulled her astral form from her body. The two of them feel to the pavement, Mareth rolled and attempted to use her power to kill Tenko outright, but nothing happens.

"Can't do that here. It was a gamble but I was right. You're not strong enough to use magic on the astral plane."

"Astral Plane?"

"Yeah, it's a skill some us Kitsune have. So why are you really here? Darach's don't care about family. The power corrupts the mind. You might be using her death as an excuse, but that's all it is, an excuse."

"I'm not a fucking Darach! I'm a Druid! Like my parents! Like my sister was going to be until you stole her life!"

Tenko rolled his eyes, "Okay, I'll play along. When did I kill her? and you only have one chance to get it right. I remember every kid I've killed."

"This month. Right here in this shity fucking town!"

"Wrong. I have killed nine men and one manly looking woman. But no girls under the age of eighteen." He replied nonchalantly, but he knew only two girls died this month that could have, maybe, been druids.

"Lacy or Aria?" he asked.

Mareth lost it and swung her arms around and shouted in a foreign language but, nothing happened until she broke down in tears out of frustration.

"What's her name?! Say it!"

"Lacy Ravenlock..."

"Yeah. I should kill you for Aria." Said Tenko.

Mareth looked up with frightened eyes as she saw lightning sparks from his hands. Tenko just shrugged. " I'm celestial Kitsune. It's cheating, but who cares. Your sister took Aria and Sam, out into the woods that night. It was her fault they were out there... But it was my fault the Alpha attacked."

Mareth's heart thumped. "Why would she take them there?"

"Something about her family. Probably to sacrifice them and become a Darach, like her sister." Said Tenko.

Mareth bit her tongue, then asked, "Your mother found them? Where?"

"I found them, Next to some big ass tree stump. Mauled to death. Oh, look at that... Times up." said Tenko as the Astral plane crumbled.

Tenko and Mareth returned to the real world and hit the pavement in unison. Mareth groaned as she hit the hard ground.

"Can...can you remember the place?" she asked.

"No, can't remember. I tried to go back and talk Aria for closure I guess. But I couldn't find it."

"The Nematon..." She gasped.

"I thought there were no more Nematons. Nematons promote sacrifice. The druid order doesn't do sacrifice anymore."

"But they still have power. And as long as they still have roots, there will always be Nematons."

Tenko rolled over and pushed himself up from the ground. "You were grief-stricken, next time you come for me. I'll kill you"

Mareth didn't pay him any attention as her mind was racing. She pushed herself up and left to go back to Deaton's.

Tenko was now in his fox form as he ran through the woods. He didn't feel like going to lacrosse practice and he still had other things to handle in the woods. Without a thought of hesitation, Tenko walked into a deep hole in the Beacon Hills preserve.

He followed a dark tunnel for a while and then the light came, revealing a small cave with a body of freshwater. It was a place that Tenko had found during one of his night runs. He could hear the sound of water coming from the tunnel and decided to check it out, it's been his secret place ever since.

But as he stepped into his secret cave he smelled something foreign. He went deeper in and began to hear the whimpers of an animal. In the far corner of the cave where Tenko kept his spoils from raids, an injured coyote with cold steel-blue eyes laid against his bags.

Tenko's eyes began to glow and stamped his paw against the ground as he growled. The Coyote franticly push up against the bags that it laid on. Tenko made himself big as the coyote attempted to make itself smaller.

Tenko moved closer and a sound that he had never heard a coyote make came out. It sounds like an animal but it wasn't typical, it was as if the coyote was begging to live. Tenko bent down and bit down on the neck of the coyote. Tenko could smell her fear. But it vanished when Tenko picked her up like kit and walked her over to the water before dropping her again.

When she looked up at the massive three-tailed fox, her cold steel-blue eyes began to glow. It shocked Tenko, but only for a moment, he then decided to shock the coyote by licking her wound. They Coyote soon calmed when Tenko moved from cleaning the wound to outright grooming her. She then begins to groom him in return. Tenko found it amusing and sad at the same time. The coyote picked up on these emotions cuddled next to him.

'she's...' Tenko tried to think for a proper way to describe who he believed to be a were-coyote. He figured the girl wished to be a coyote but then he thought about the wound and began to wonder if she was trapped. He could use his status as an Alpha, to force her back and ask her, or he could wait for her to heal and coax her back into her human form to get the answers he wanted.

After a moment of laying around, Tenko rose to his four legs and retrieved a bag before heading to the exist.

'Lonely and alone' he thought as he watches the coyote limp after him and then fall in pain. Tenko internally shook his head before putting his head to hers and taking away her pain. He then sniffed her thoroughly and left his small cave.

Before heading home. Tenko tracked the Coyotes scent about 10 miles away from his cave. It then got strong as he found dried blood. But he then found four more scents in the area that caused him to growl.

Tenko takes off after the scents and finds four men loading up coyotes into a jeep. Tenko reverted to his human formed and walked to the hunters. The men stopped and looked at him for a moment before they realized he was naked.

The men looked away as they spoke to him. "Are you alright, man? Kinda strange to be naked in the woods!"

"I'll feel better in just a moment." Tenko's voice sounded a bit demonic as he shifted and slashed half of the man's neck out with his claws. The man yelped and his friends turned around shocked. That brief moment of shock was there undoing. Tenko was on them and ripped them to pieces. One of them managed to get a gun and get a shot off.

Tenko ended up with a hole in his shoulder and the man lost a chunk of his head. He then faces the sky and lets out a defining howl.

In the small cave, the coyotes animal and human soul were stirred. For the first time in years, just for a moment, the human and the coyote were separate but felt the same thing. They both howled and the cave acted at an amplifier. It was loud and clear and Tekno loved what it did to him when he heard it. It was a euphoric wave of satisfaction and pride, it satiated his rage and thirst for blood and vengeance.

Tenko inhaled long and deep before letting it all out. He retook his fox form and continued to follow the coyote's scent. The scent led him to her Den. He committed the place memory before heading home.

Sometime later, Tenko walked into the house naked with nothing but his duffle bag. Though he didn't use the front door to avoid notice but, nothing could hide him from the full dinner table.

His stepfather sighed and shook his head. His mother sipped her wine and said 'hello', unfazed by his nudity. Scott and his mother, on the other hand, were flabbergasted.

"So, we're having a dinner party?" Tenko asked.

"Mmm, Melissa saved one of your father's patients. He wanted to treat and her son to dinner. I agreed. You two are on the same team might as well get to know each other."

"No need, I actually made a friend today, I think," Tenko replied.

Mark rubbed his tempos and said, "We have guests."

Tenko and his mother looked at him nonchalantly and then at each other. "I think he wants you to get dressed"

"Oh," Tenko nodded and left.

"Forgive him. He's a free spirit." Mrs. Mason spoke to Melissa.

_____________________________________________________________________

Tenko didn't bother returning to dinner. He wouldn't degrade himself by sharing a meal with Scott. At least until he takes responsibility for his actions.

Instead, Tenko spent the dinner party counting money. Every stack was counted and recorded and when he was finished, he tallied up.

"105,000. Not bad. " he muttered.

Tenko's ears then perked up and heard that the dinner was on. Tenko's eyes glowed red as he walked downstairs and pulled Scott to the side while his mother went to the car.

Tenko mugged Scott for a moment then spoke, "You ratted on Derek. Turned him over to humans and put him in the hunters' crosshairs. Do you have any idea what your girlfriend's family would do to him?"

Scott looked uncomfortable at the mention of Allison. "But you don't care. All you want to do is play lacrosse and hold her hand. And that's okay. I'm going to allow you to be stupidly in love with a huntress whore! But every time you touch the Lacrosse field, I'll be there to give you pain! And every time I catch you alone, I'm going to show what being an Omega feels like, because you don't deserve a pack!"

Tenko snatched Scott's arm and snapped it. Scott's tibia and fibula tore through the skin like a compound fracture. Scott's eyes flashed gold and Tenko's eyes shinned red. Tenko swiftly struck his throat to stop him from roaring out in pain. Tenko then hit him with a left hook, breaking Scott's jaw.

Scott fell to the ground in agony as his face turned red and he wept. Tenko kicked him into the wall and then walked over to him. "That's for desecrating Laura Hale's grave. You impudent spineless fool. Your punishment isn't over. When I call, you better come running. Start thinking with your head, McCall, and not your dick. Don't force me to neuter you, little runt."

Tenko watched as Scott shook on the floor and noticed that Scott's healing didn't kick in. "Fuck!" he grunted. "Mom!" he shouted.

Mrs. Mason walked up the stairs and looks at Scott. "What did he do?"

"He fucked me! Us! Aria! The Hales! And I just don't like him... I'm an alpha and the wounds I gave him won't heal like regular ones. I need you to patch him and kick him out of our fucking house." Tenko turned away before he decided to be fickle and kill Scott.

His mother put a hand on his shoulder and looked at him with a smile. "There's a reason Inari blessed you with this Alpha power. I'm proud of you, kit." She then kissed him on the forehead before she moved to heal Scott.

Mrs. Mason placed a hand on Scott and supercharged his cells with a short surge. His throat healed first, then the jaw, broken ribs, and finally his arm. "Good as new. Now my son doesn't want you in our house, so scurry along before he changes his mind."
