Chapter IX

Tenko walked into his room and flopped onto the bed with a heavy sigh. He let himself rest for a moment before standing up and walking to the desk to get his phone. He turned it and opened up his laptop. Tenko had a few assignments that were due on Monday. So he put some music on and got to work.

The boy fell into his own world as information gushed from him and into his report. His fingers moved in a frenzy as he typed away. He was slowly brought back by the sound of beeping coming from his phone.

Tenko tapped his phone and it lit up with a one-word text from Lydia.

"Hey."

Tenko picked up the phone and sent the same text back.

"Can't sleep. How about you?" she asked.

Tenko leaned back in his computer chair and replied, "What's going on with you?"

"You know, just massive murderous werewolves."

"And you."

Tenko smirked at the phone. "Hmm, what about me?"

"How'd you know I was in trouble?"

Tenko frowned and sent, "You called me."

"You heard that?" she asked.

"Haven't heard a scream that loud in a while. Do you know how loud you were?"

"Loud enough for your super-hearing to pick up."

'Haa, Lydia Martin... you are a strange one.' Tenko spoke to himself as he read her reply. Tenko realized that Lydia had no idea just how loud she actually was that night. And that meant she had no idea what she was.

"Lol, I guess so. How about your hearing? Is everything alright?"

Lydia frowned and rolled onto her back. " Yes..."

" Look, do you want to come over?"

"For a nightcap?"

"Maybe a movie?"

Tenko smiled at his phone, then replied, "I'll be there in a bit."

Tenko got to Lydia's place sometime later. He walked into the house and Lydia closed the door behind him. Lydia checked him out and noticed a bag in his hand.

Lydia smirked. "Overnight bag?" she asked.

Tenko glanced at his bag. "Yeah. It was the weirdest thing. Right after you asked me for a nightcap, I could feel my eyelids getting heavy. So I thought I'd bring somethings just in case I fall asleep."

Lydia rolled her eyes with an amused expression. "Right. Just in case," she said.

Tenko tittered as he walked off.

"And where are you going?" Lydia asked.

Tenko stopped and looked back. "To bed" he replied, "You coming?".

Lydia batted her eyes.

As Tenko walked into her room, he felt her slender fingers grabbed his hand that was carrying his bag. She took the bag from his hand and tossed it onto the floor.

When Tenko looked at Lydia, he felt it. The pull that was there the first time he saw her in Latin. It was magnetic. He took a long enticing look at her sculpted frame, clad in her short length, royal blue nightgown.

"You sure you want to watch a movie?" He asked.

Lydia followed his eyes to her bare legs. "What else would we do?"

"What do sexually attracted people usually do in a nice room, all alone?"

Tenko moved closer and Lydia met him halfway.

"Usually guys try to cop a feel to test the waters."

Tenko feigned a shocked look. "Cop a feel? Something like this..." Tenko ran his hands down her sides, caressing her ass into a firm squeeze.

Lydia gasped at the feeling. Her eyes took on a deeper hue of craving.

"Ooo, no one's ever been this bold."

"All this body and you haven't made a few men ravenous?"

Lydia sucked her lip seductively, running her hands over his chest while massaged her soft, plump ass.

"They treat me like glass, delicate, and fragile. Do I feel fragile, Tenko?" she asked

His glowed red with black fox slit. "No."

Lydia suddenly felt her feet leave the floor and she instinctively clutched Tenko's shirt and wrapped her legs around his waist. Lydia had a look mixed with shock and excitement. The strength he used to pick her up was like a shot of adrenaline.

Lydia hungrily attacked his lips and passion took over. Tenko moved to the bed and their clothes were gradually discarded in between heated kiss.

Tenko kissed her down just between her legs and along her inner thighs. Teasing and building excitement before put his lips to the mouth of her arousal. Like a ripe peach, her sweet nectar spurts forth as his tongue part her folds to explore the deepest parts of her.

Lydia moaned in ecstasy under his oral assault on her sex. Driving her to the limit, just before she could burst, Tenko re-positioned himself firmly against her soaping canal and plunged into her depths with one divine stroke. Lydia's body tensed, her canal caved in on his manhood and held him like a vice. Her back arched and time slowed just before her body shuttered and she cried out in euphoria.

The pleasure didn't stop as Tenko began to move hips, starting a night long tryst of nirvanic vehemence.

As the morning sun crept through the window, Tenko laid behind Lydia, their arms and legs wrapped around one another as new lovers. They drifted off into exhausted sleep only to wake again around noon.

Tenko was now sitting in Lydia's bed as she showered. His laptop was on his lap and he typed away. He had finally finished his last school assignment. He was now holding an old sheet of paper with faded ink.

He scrutinized the paper over ten times until he resided himself to working with what he had. A partial policy number and half of the business logo. He looked up a list of all the insurance companies in Beacon County and started from the top as he tried to match logos.

In the bathroom, Lydia had just stepped out of the shower. She was looking in the foggy mirror, then wiped away the condensation. She smiled at herself and thought about her night with Tenko.

She nodded as if she had come to some grand decision in her mind. She looked at the door and dropped her towel before sauntering out in the nude. Tenko looked up from his laptop with a charming smile, taking in her nakedness, like a breath fresh air. His eyes devoured her for a moment and then returned to his list of Insurance companies.

Lydia scuffed and crawled on to the bed. She started with his shoulder and kissed her way up to his neck. Tenko's eyelids fell shut and slowly opened like a long blink. He enjoyed the feeling of the soft kisses for a moment until he stopped Lydia's hand from snaking under the cover.

"What's your problem?" She asked.

Tenko held up an old sheet of paper. " I need a name for this logo, then I need to find a way to get an owner's name for this partial policy number and I have people counting on me."

"It has to do with murders?" she asked with interest.

"No, it's a pack thing," he replied.

"Oh," Lydia sat back on her legs. "So you're taking care of a packmate? So if I joined your pack, then you would be obligated to take care of me, right?"

Tenko showed a toothy smile. "Something like that. But even then, this would have to get done first."

Lydia looked annoyed and held out her hand. "Give me the paper." she said.

Tenko held out and she took it from his hand before crawling out of bed. Walking off to her printer she lifted up the scanner and put the paper down. After scanning both sides, Lydia walked over with two new sheets of paper and gave them to Tenko.

Tenko looks them over. He looks at his laptop and scrolls up to the top of the site. " All Bond Insurance..." he muttered.

Lydia frowned. "I thought you said this had nothing to do with the murders."

"It doesn't," Tenko replied as he kept his eyes on the computer. He was now trying to find an address.

"Yes. It does." Lydia looked as if she caught him in a lie. "My mom had their insurance for a long time before they closed. I remember her talking about the bus driver investigated our claim when a tree fell on the side of the house."

Tenko paused and looked at Lydia. "What else do you have in that pretty head of yours?"

"What do you mean?"

"I mean, do you know how to find claims attached to names, policy numbers, and so on?"

Lydia put on her think face. "Public records office. You'll have to request them though."

Tenko laughed and pulled Lydia into deep a kiss that could put the French to shame. " Thank you and I'll see you at school. " Tenko jumped out of bed and threw his clothes on.

Lydia mugged him as he got dressed. Tenko could feel her displeasure but he had just had a breakthrough. On his way out he walked to Lydia and graced her a with a few more kisses.

"Don't be mad." he said, "You just saved lives," he told her before leaving.

Tenko was driving down the road with his phone to his ear.

"Mareth! Get Derek and meet me at my place. I found the connection."

"We're looking through Laura's things right now. They just arrived," she replied.

"Forget who sent the deer picture. It's the Insurance claim for the fire. Find out where those documents are and bring them over. We have work to do." he told her.

Sometime later, Tenko ran upstairs and grabbed the black duffel bag from under his bed. He put a few thousand dollars in a pouch and left his room. While he waited on Mareth and Derek. He worked on the animals hanging his back yard. He started with the mountain lions and finished two before he stopped. He could smell that Mareth and Derek had arrived.

He invited them in and started to clean himself before he sat down at the table.

"The Alpha is a Hale or was a part of the Hale pack and I am absolutely certain."

Derek leaned forward. "He investigated the fire, so what?" said Derek as he held the pages he found in Laura's things.

"Garrison Myers was an insurance investigator. When people made claims, he investigated and authorized the payouts."

"We know, it was in the file we got from Stiles. Now we know that he investigated the Hale fire. But even the cops ruled it an accident. it doesn't really scream conspiracy." Mareth added.

"But you didn't pay attention because we thought Laura could have been a bad girl back in the day. Why would someone from her family or pack kill her? It didn't make sense. But then again the need for power sometimes trumps loyalty. But vengeance is still owed, so the wolf starts killing everyone involved in the fire. Starting with the man that falsified the insurance claim."

Derek's mouth hung open. "But, he couldn't have done that without the help of the Sheriff's help."

"No, Stilinski was Sheriff then. You can't pay that guy to cover up a massacre. But you can pay a fire investigator. Someone wanted the Hales dead and made it look like an accident. They didn't have to buy the sheriff, just the people around him. This might run deep and I have a feeling that the Alpha is just getting started." said Tenko.

"I think the Nurse is the Alpha. If she grew up around here, that will explain why people aren't talking and it could also mean she was turned before the fire," said Mareth.

"What Nurse? I keep hearing you talk about a nurse, but that's all it is, talk," said Derek.

Tenko frowned at Mareth. "You didn't show him the picture?"

"He was chasing after the Alpha all day. I thought we had a divide and conquer thing going on," she explained.

Tenko shook his head. Mareth pulled her phone out and showed a photo to Derek. Derek froze when he saw the picture.

"I know it's rough. I had to take a picture of the drawing because I was tired of carrying the thing around," said Mareth.

"It's not that... I know her..."

Tenko threw his hands up. "Well isn't this fucking embarrassing. We could have nailed the bitch days ago."

"My bad..." Mareth sighed.

"It's Peter's nurse."

"Who the fuck is Peter?" Tenko asked Derek.

"My Uncle."

"I thought you said everybody died?"

"He made it out. He's been hospitalized for years." Derek explained.

"Then let's go grab this bitch. She was probably in love with Peter and this is her way of avenging him. That's why she killed Laura without a thought. She could be the one that lured her here. We already know she set the bus driver up." Mareth made some good points.

Derek growled. "I say we go get her now."

"Then let's go get her. But we have to make a stop along the way," said Tenko.

During the drive, the trio rode in silence. Mareth was the first to speak up. "Sorry for fucking up."

"I've been running around the woods a lot so I've played my part in our failure."

"Sorry for not telling you guys about Peter."

The car fell to silence again. "So. we're good now?" Tenko asked.

"Yeah. we're good." Derek replied.

"No..." Mareth spoke as she looked out the passing landscape. "It wasn't your fault the Alpha killed Aria and Lacy."

Tenko's gripped tighten around the stirring wheel.

"The Nematon was sending visions to Lacy. I'm getting them too. After that day at the school, I went to speak with a family friend. He said Lacy was having terrible dreams of the past. He told her to speak to the Nematon. That's when the Alpha got them."

Tenko growled and his eyes glowed. "Fuck this place... The alpha's claws took her life and no matter who's at fault, the Alpha killed her. So the Alpha dies."

Tenko spun the stirring wheel in pulled into the parking lot of a government building. Mareth had a questioning look.

"The coyote," Tenko told her before parking and running to the building.

Tenko stood at the reception desk and waited on a man to finish his typing.

"How can I help you?" He asked.

"I need to request records on an insurance claim. The company is no longer active." Tenko explained.

"Is this claim involved with a criminal investigation?" The man asked.

Tenko thought back to the blood-stained interior of the car. "Yes," he replied.

"Then you'll have better luck at the police station. Our process takes a couple of weeks and the forms themselves take a few days to finish. "

"Are you sure the Police department will have them?"

"Yes, Car accidents, fires, life insurance. If it's apart of the investigation or requested during the investigation then they have a copy."

Tenko nodded and turned to leave the building.

"They're coming. That Druid and Fox are sharp. " Said a man in a wheelchair.

"What do we do?" asked a beautiful ginger in a white nurse's uniform.

"I need more time. You will have to hold them off." The man's eyes flashed red and his fangs appeared as lunged out of his wheelchair and attacked the woman.

The man carried the nurse out of his room and to the bathroom down the hall. He snapped her pinky finger to trigger her healing and laid her over her neck to cover fresh claw marks.

The man then grabbed Lysol spray from a clean cart and sprayed the nurse and the bathroom as he left.

"Excuse me, Have you seen Nurse Jennifer O'Connor around? I would like to speak with her about my uncle," said Derek

The nurse at the desk looked at Derek, Tenko, and Mareth. "What's your Uncle's name?"

"Peter Hale," Derek replied.

The Nurse nodded. "Let me page her. Just have a seat."

Tenko squinted and looked at Mareth.

"What?" she asked.

"Can you take care of her, maybe?" he asked.

Mareth shrugged and pulled a flower from a pouch. She crushed the flower in her hand, turning it to dust, before throwing it in the receptionist's face.

Thud! The woman dropped face-first into her computer.

"Nice. Well, let's get to it," said Tenko.

The trio went straight to Peter's room, led by Derek. When they arrived, Derek sniffed the air. "She was here," he said.

"Damn. That's your uncle? I see why you didn't tell us about him." said Tenko.

"Yeah. hasn't moved in six years."

"That fire fucked him up. If you want. We can still hunt the people that did this. But the Alpha has to die." said Tenko.

Derek just nodded his head. "Come on, before she gives us the slip."

The Trio then walked out of Peter's room and froze. Nurse Jennifer had just walked out of the restroom rubbing her head. Tenko was the first to move. he sped walked to the woman and punched her in her forehead, knocking her unconscious.

"Grab her," said Tenko.

Pah! Tenko slapped the nurse.

"Wake up!" he commanded.

Nurse Jennifer roused to consciousness. She was tied to a chair with ropes soaked in wolfsbane.

Jennifer looked around frantically. She was confused and wore a frightened look. So, Tenko slapped her again.

Pah! Echoed throughout the room.

"Show me your eyes!"

Jennifer kept her head down and refused to look up.

Tenko road and her head shot up showing cold steel-blue eyes as she whimpered.

"She's in the Alpha's pack," Derek said.

"Are you fucking serious." said Mareth, " We should just kill her and be done with it."

"No! No please don't Kill me. I don't know what's happening to me, I just want to go home." she cried.

Derek and Tenko looked at each other with identical frowns. "Who's the Alpha?" Derek asked.

"A-Alpha? I - I don't know what an Alpha is! I'm just a fucking Nurse. I go to Sunday dinners every weekend and my mother has a potential husband for me every time. I get paid minimum wage and live in an apartment. I'm a nobody. I don't know anything." she rambled.

Tenko looked at Derek. "You here that?"

"Yes, she telling the truth."

"But she's a werewolf," Mareth added.

"I'm a Catholic! And get these fucking things off of me!" Jennifer shouted as she tried to break free of the burning ropes.

"It fucked us..." Mareth whispered as she realized what was happening.

"What do you mean?" Derek asked.

"Give me a minute alone with her. We have something things we need to work out," said Mareth.

Tenko and Derek left the basement and went to the kitchen. Derek sipped his glass of water with a cluttered mind.

"Even if we find it, can we kill it?" Derek asked.

"All things die."

"But can WE kill it?" Derek repeated himself.

Tenko sigh and took a seat on the countertop. "I like you, Derek. I like you because you doubt yourself. You doubt yourself because you understand your abilities but haven't recognized your potential. So you know when you're over your head."

"And we might be in over our head. He's been a step ahead this entire time," said Derek.

"No, you might be in over your head. I understand my abilities and understand that I'm capable of great things, given time. I believe that we're close to catching him. And I believe we will kill him. Mareth will light his ass on fire, I'll gut him, and then you can rip his throat out."

Derek focused on the sound of Tenko's heart and the smell of his emotions. Tenko truthfully believed everything he said and he smelled of courage, determination, and blood lust.

Derek chuckled. " Then we rebuild the Hale pack and live happily ever after."

"Haa, fuck that. You can rebuild the Hale Pack. If things keep going the way they are. I might be skipping town soon."

"Well, if you decided to stick around. You can call always call on my pack."

"Aren't you sweet" Tenko chuckled. "Come on, help me out back."

"What's outback?"

"Animals that need skinning and cleaning, so money can be made. She might take a while down there" Said Tenko.

_________________________________________________________

Tenko and Derek took care of the animals in the backyard while Mareth did her druid thing. When the sun went down, Tenko turned on Halogen standing work lights and the two continued work.

They joked and occasionally reminisced. Derek talked about the time his mother taught him and younger sister, Cora, how to track, hunt, and clean their kill. His older sister, Laura, was a lot like their mother. Strongwilled and had knack for compartmentalizing. For the past six years, though they were together, they didn't talk about the past, leaving old wounds to fester.

Derek even admitted sometimes he missed his sister, Cora, the most. She inherited their mother's fire. The maternal instinct for family and a thick emotional heartstring that made her fierce. Laura was loved her family and wasn't cold by any means, but Cora and Talia wore their sleeves. He needed someone like that to talk to.

"Everyone deserves a family, Derek. Well, I take that back. Not everyone deserves a family, but you do. So as long as I'm here, build your pack, find a couple mates and reintroduce Beacon Hills to the Hale Family. And if you need anything, you can count on my pack." Said Tenko

"What pack?" Derek teased.

"I have something in the works... At least I have a druid..."

Derek laughed. "What about your Mother?"

Tenko sighed, "Nikita Nakshige isn't going anywhere. But she's Nikita Mason right now. I don't need Nikita Mason in my pack. She worries about me, but I also worry about her. A Mother Kitsune has many duties before their child steps up. It's usually a daughter, but I am rarity after all. The point is, I need a Kitsune who owns her fox and the duties that come with it. My mother is caught between two lives right now, whether she knows it or not."

"It's hard being with humans, man. My sisters and I all have different fathers. All humans, except for Cora."

"How many sisters did you have? And who was Cora's father?" Tenko asked as her separated and stored bear and mountain lion parts.

"Why are you packing those?" Derek asked.

"Guy in the bay area will buy them at market price," Tenko replied.

"You mean the Black Market?"

"It's that or waste perfectly good parts. And I rather not waste it. So answer the question."

Derek sighed, "You're a bad influence... And I had three sisters, The eldest didn't make it. And since Cora is gone and Peters is damn-near dead, there is no secret."

"You mean..."

"Yeah, Peter is Cora's dad. She's a Hale through and through," said Derek.

Tenko exhaled heavily. "That's some intense shit."

"Actually it's normal. Better chance of keeping the Legacy in the family. A full shift, like the way you turn into a fox, is rare. With Peter and my mom having Cora, the chances of keeping the trait in the family were higher. And Peter became The Beta afterward, so it was like a win-win." Derek explained.

Sometime later, they cleaned up and packed everything away. Tenko then ran upstairs and counted the money that Derek and Mareth made on Sunday. He gave Derek twenty-five percent of the day's earning and an extra thousand for helping him prepare the latest haul.

It was around, 12 in the morning when Mareth came up from the basement.

"Yo, Mare! What do you... What's wrong?" Tenko asked as he noticed her downtrodden face.

"We fucked up again. The Alpha stole her memories. I worked my way through her youthful years to the present day. I saw a few moments with the Alpha in his feral form but other than that nothing. But, all of her black spots are centered around Peter" Mareth explained.

Tenko looked at Derek, who was now wide awake. " Centered around Peter, how?"

"Like she changes his clothes and looks at him. But just she opens her mouth, nothing. Then the next moment she would be leaving the room. Every memory with him is like that for the past year." Mareth finished.

"It's Peter..." said Tenko. "Jennifer came out of the bathroom down the hall from Peter's room. You said she had just left, you caught her scent. He used her as bait."

"No! My uncle has been unresponsive for six years." Derek refused to believe it.

"It's Peter, Derek. If we go back to that facility, he won't be there," said Mareth.

"That means...My Uncle killed my Sister."

Tenko shook his head and looked to Mareth. "Call Stiles. Tell him the Alpha might be trying to replace his Beta, so he needs to be careful. Don't tell him about Peter. I want to catch him myself, and I don't need the Sheriff in the way."

Mareth pulled her phone out and turned away.

"Derek! Snap out of it! You need to go and find Scott. Start training him and no more pussyfooting unless you want the kid to die. We both know he isn't joining the Alpha, and we know how that ends."

Derek nodded, though, he was still a bit spaced from the recent discovery.

"What are you going to do?" Mareth asked Tenko.

"I'm going to go find Peter's scent and hunt his ass down."
