Chapter V: A Sour Victory?

Tenko suddenly stops walking as he remembered that the school was sealed by a mountain ash barrier. He quickly moves to Allison's side and takes hold of her arm. Dragging her along with him, They made it to the exit where he forced her to break the Mountain ash barrier.

"You killed him…" Allision spoke in a small shocked voice.

"Yes, I did," Tenko replied nonchalantly. "Now break the barrier so we can leave."

Allison's face was ghastly pale as she walked mindlessly through the doors of beacon hills. She then drags her feet across the Mountain Ash barrier, freeing Tenko and Malia.

Tenko took one last look at Allison, then sped off to find Derek in haste.

Sometime later, Malia and Tenko arrived at Tenko's house and were surprised to see that the lights were on as music bled from its walls. The adults had no idea what was happening at the moment. Tenko then looked around and noticed that Geread hadn't been there.

"He's not here. If Derek was here, this place would have been a war zone." Tenko explained.

"Where could he be then?" Malia asked.

"He heard my howl," Tenko replied happily.

Tenko's phone then buzzed, and he received a text that Mareth. He looks at the time and notices that he has non left as the text came in an hour late.

In the woods, government agents were gunning down hunters that had been labeled a terrorist cell responsible for planning a biological attack on American soil. At the same time, CDC trucks rolled through town, issuing quarantine orders. When the CDC trucks finally turned down Tenko's street, he realized it was too late to do anything. The plan that he had created with Mareth failed.

However, it didn't stop him as he led Malia into the woods to find Derek. On the other hand, Mareth had already found him. Mareth now found herself facing off against Agent Wesley, the agent in charge of the operation.

Wesley wanted to capture Derek and had tranquilized him with a wolfsbane dart. When Mareth realized this, she attacks the agents and Wesley revealed himself as Kungai. A creature with the power to steal one's lifeforce and the power attached to it.

"Kungai!? Why are you here?" Mareth asked with shock, "What do you want with Derek, Wesley?"

Wesley chuckled, "Mareth Ravenlock, Druid." he said.

"When Gerad got word of this little shtick you were planning, he called me in. It was the perfect opportunity to cleanse his ranks and locked down the town to take Derek." Wesley explained. "And before you think about your little heartthrob, he should be trapped in the High School at least until my units arrive."

Mareth was seething with anger and disappointed with herself. She should have taken extra precautions to secure their plans.

"What does he want with Derek?" She asked.

"None of your concern." Wesley whipped his wrist. A rift of air ripped through the air, threatening to decapitate Mareth.

Mareth barely managed to slip the attack. Wesely picked up Derek's unconscious body as the horn in the middle of his head, called a Tak, began to glow a molten red.

"He wants his Power." Mareth realized and quickly sent a stream of lightning at the Kungai. Wesley leaned back as he misjudged the attack that he assumed was sent to kill him.

The razor attack grazed Wesley's forehead cut off his Tak. Wesely cried out and fell to his knees in agony.

A few miles away, Tenko and Malia changed direction and ran with all their strength to the source of the commotion.

"Mareth!" Tenko barked, "What happened?"

Mareth was holding Derek and using her magic to rouse his consciousness. "It was Gerad. He knew we planned to quarantine the town and painted his team as terrorists. So he took the opportunity to further his plans."

"His plans?" Malia asked.

Mareth looked up. "He used the agents to kill some of his people," she said.

Mareth then pointed at Wesely, who was now holding on to life by a string, now that his Tak was cut off. "He's a Kungai. A supernatural who can steal people's lifeforce and power with his Tak - the horn on his head. If you remove the horn, it won't kill them put would put them in a dire state."

"Steal power..." Tenko looked at Derek, who was finally coming to, " Gerard bought him off. He probably just culled the people he couldn't trust and wanted to steal Derek's Alpha Spark."

"That's why he trapped us in the school... Son of a bitch!" Malia snapped as she punches a chunk of wood from the trunk of the tree next to her.

"What happened?" Derek asked groggily.

"We've just been fucked by an old man," Tenko replied.

"What now?" Mareth asked.

"Well, Kanima is dead. It was Jackson, so that's a win. Now, we kill this 'Kungai' and go home. Our plan was to wipe the hunters out with one move, lockdown Beacon Hills so Derek could build his pack and the McCalls could adjust. But Gerard is alive, and the Beacon Hills will be a prison for at least a week. So we do nothing."

"What about the house?" Malia asked.

"Everything is on hold until the government leaves. Mareth, torch the body." Tenko order, and the group of Supernatural went home to take a beat.

----------------------------------

Over the course of the town lockdown, everyone was confined to their homes as the Agents did door-to-door checks and attempted to locate biological and or chemical weapons.

Mareth spent her time researching the properties of the Tak that she took from Agent Wesely. Malia and Tenko kept themselves busy days, while some people mourned Jackson's death and wrestled with Tenko's decision to kill him.

However, the lockdown didn't stop Beacon Hills from cooking up new enemies. In a warehouse just beyond the established quarantine line, Matt Daehler, the new Kanima, had found his master, Gerard Argent. Two murders with a craving for vengeance.

-------------------------------------

When the government finally left Beacon Hills, everything was oddly quiet. The Argent family was gone, and school resumed like nothing ever happened.

Time passed, and everyone began to become accustomed to peace. Derek had finally started acting like an Alpha, and his pack was processing nicely.

Tenko took this time to seek out the third pack leader in Beacon Hills, Satomi Ito. Once he saw the size of her pack, he felt threatened. He then thought of Derek's pack of five and realized he had the weakest pack based on numbers.

That's when Tenko got a wild thought. With Mareth's help, Tenko incapacitated Lydia and gave her the bite. Her banshee powers are always expressed at random. Tenko wanted to kick start that power and test the effects of his alpha bite.

Either Lydia will turn, or the banshee within her would fully awaken. Either way, Tenko was about to gain another pack member.

After a week of waiting on Lydia's power to flare, Tenko grew impatient and sought out an omega he knew was sitting on her hands. Melissa McCall.

It turned out that Melissa was waiting for the invitation. She had turned down Jennifer's offer to joins Derek Pack because of the lifestyle. Melissa had a job and son, to choose Derek would disrupt her life as Derek had yet to build a solid foundation for his pack.

She wanted Scott to join the pack as well, but he refused. Though Tenko didn't even entertain the idea.

Though Tenko now had Mellisa, it wasn't enough. He and Mareth constructed criteria of potential packmates. Together, the Fox and the Druid settled on Jack Arlo, a deputy in the Beacon Hills sheriff's department.

It was a fairly simple task, and for the first time, Tenko witnessed the effects of his bite.

"He's a wolf?" Mareth asked.

"Yeah, the Alpha Spark is werewolf power. Shifting power. Kitsunes are born, so I guess it makes sense." Tenko explained.

After the changes in the young deputy began to happen, Tenko picked up on his wolf sent.

"At least you have a new beta." Said Mareth.

Tenko's phone buzzed. He read the text and smirked. He then looks up at Mareth and says: "No. Omega, he's the bitch of the pack. A guinea pig I needed. Teach him what he needs to know."

As Tenko left went for the door, he said, "Oh, and peacetime is over. Derek said one of Satmoi's wolves was just killed...by a Kanima."
