Chapter IX: Alpha Alpha

We left the Village of Forests and Rivers in the middle of the night. I left a note for the Elders and Saito, as Layla had already left for her honeymoon that would last an entire month.

Once I arrived in Beacon Hills. The first thing I did was check on my finished manor. Malia loved the loved place. It was everything we wanted down to the countertops.

As we got accustomed to our new home, the pack came rolling in one by one. Jack Arlo, Melissa, and Mareth. And I was pleasantly surprised to see Boyd.

"Alright, this is our time to shine. And we need Boyd to strike the match to light our fuse." I spoke with a projected voice.

The manor had terrific acoustics.

"What the fuck does Boyd have to do with anything?" Malia asked.

"He's the inside man. We aren't going to do this wolf way. We're going to do this the Kitsune way." I put on devilish, and the game began.

Boyd told us everything about the Alphas, Derek's spiraling, Cora, and the sacrifices. But most importantly, the plan that Derek had to kill Deucalion in a few days.

"We should strike then, Tenko. If Deucalion is distracted, we should pick off his numbers. Wolves like to go for the throat, but Deucalion is a beast. We need to cripple him first." said Malia.

"We should kill this Kali woman. She the one that beat Derek." Melissa added

"No, Ennis is the Tank. We take him first. The twins are a simple task as long as we keep them from merging. But most importantly, we do nothing during the fight. I want to see how strong the Alpha of Alphas truly is."

"As long as we kill them," declared Boyd with seething rage.

"As long as you keep my return a secret," I added. " Let's get to work."

The pack fanned out, and I was left alone with Malia. Together we walked to our room on the second floor. We were getting ready for a shower when Malia asked, "Melissa, Jack Arlo, or Boyd."

I turned on the ceiling shower head, and water poured like rainfall. "Never, Jack Arlo. But Melissa before Boyd. You are definitely first."

Malia tossed her burgundy bra to the hamper then stepped out of her matching panties."Do they know what you're planning?"

"Not even Mareth," I replied

Malia pursed her lips and looked as if she had something to say. She walked into the shower and soaked for a moment.

"What if... I took a few days off?"

"To do what?" I asked.

Malia explained that her time in the Kitsune village conjured a yearning in her. The desire to have a family. To reconnect with the family that she had lost.

" I want to go see my father." she finished.

"You're Ready?"

"I think I am." She replies.

"Well, if you need me, call me. And try to take it easy on your dad."

Malia smiled. "I can take care of myself. But I love that you worry."

"I forgot I'm in love with a badass. We should go for a run before you leave."

"Eh, it's not as fun since I lost the power to shift. But let's do it."

Tenko holds her from behind then gives her small kisses along her neck.

Malia hums happily then says, "I'm tired, Tenko."

"I know, but you taste so good." Tenko sang before biting down on her shoulder.

Malia yelp into a giggle. She made a feeble attempt to get away, but Tenko held on.

"Seriously, I'm working on a way to help you shift back. Just give some time alight."

Malia turned her up while pulling Tenko down into a deep sensual kiss. Both warriors relinquishing power found themselves in perfect union.

---------

After Malia and I had a nice run that ended in a hunt, I sent her off. It was odd being without her. But I didn't have time to dwell as things got dicey right after she left.

Boyd called me and said that Scott was being Scott again. Instead of ambushing Deucalion, he wanted to talk. So the plan was pushed ahead.

Or so I thought. Everyone was banking on Scott being himself and got into their position before Scott even arrived at the ambush place, which was an abandoned mall.

I was the one that arrived late, just in time to see Allison wisp into the mall with her bow and quiver. It was odd to see her. I thought she had moved away.

When I entered the mall, I perched myself on a high beam and watched as the two groups kicked each other's ass.

The Twins Ethan and Aiden were true beauties as their merge form was a sight to behold. The only downfall was that the Giant they formed was slow. However, they still beat Scott and Isaac, throwing them around like rag dolls.

Kali was the opposite. I watched her go hand to hand with Derek. Kali was agile and quick. Her martial arts was personalized and unpredictable as it weaponized her clawed feet.

But Ennis was the one that worried me. He was an alpha that Malia and Melissa couldn't handle on their own. This made team attacks a foolish method of war, which is why Derek's plan was failing. I watched as Ennis bullied Boyd and then handled the inexperienced blue-eyed beauty, Cora Hale, with ease.

All the while, Deucalion stood motionless, not watching the fight, but watching me. I could feel his gaze through his blacked-out glasses. I expected no less from the Alpha of Alphas.

"Tenko Nakashige. Alpha Kitsune. Did you really think you could hide?" Deucalion whispered.

"I just wanted to watch," I replied.

Deucalion showed a hint of a smile. "I thought you fled to Alaska."

"I took a trip. Now I'm back. We can talk another time. It seems this round is coming to an end."

The Giant (twins) held the back of Scott and Isaac's neck, Kali had her clawed feet at Cora's throat, and Boyd was on the ground beaten.

"Kill him!" Deucalion ordered. "The others can go."

Derek looked at a hurt Boyd and actually contemplated the decision but did not move to action.

"You're beaten," Deucalion added as he moved down the escalator on which he watched the battle. "Do it, Derek. Take the first step."

"Are we serious with this kid?" Kali asked with dark blood-red eyes and a mouth full of fangs.

"Look at him. He's an Alpha? To what? A couple of useless teenagers." she added.

"Some have more promise than others." Deucalion looked to his right.

I followed his gaze and nearly threw up in my mouth. I knew he couldn't have been talking about Isaac. That meant he was referring to Scott McCall.

My mind nearly exploded. The Alpha of Alphas saw potential in a whelp. It was mind-boggling.

"Let him rise to the occasion then," said Kali. "What'll be, Derek? Pack or Family?"

Kali put more force on Cora's throat. I could hear the crunch of her neck and her pain-induced groan followed by whimpers as she struggled to move Kali's foot.

There was brief in grave silence. Then Alison's scent hit my nose. I snapped my head in her direction and watch as she fires a series of arrows with flash-bang heads.

The first arrow hit the Giant, forcing the twins to separate as they hit the ground. The arrows that followed merely served as a distraction for Scott to take action. He then put on a display that even shocked me.

Scott took his stance and ran full speed at Ennis. The two wolves went shoulder to shoulder as they collided, creating a shockwave of pure power.

Once they stopped the shockwave from blowing them back. Scott looked up with blazing red eyes. The eyes of an Alpha. I looked at Ennis, and the man was still breathing. I have to admit that I was confounded, but the truth was staring me in the eyes. By no means am I a delusional person.

Scott McCall was a True Alpha that I expected Beacon Hills to produce. I was just disappointed that it was Scott. I kind of hoped it would be Stiles or someone else. But something happened to Scott. He froze or hesitated for some reason.

Derek zipped in and took on Ennis until the two held each other at the edge of a seven-story drop. I then see Scott struggling to make it to Derek's side as he held his sides in pain.

Then it happened. Scott slashed out a chunk of Ennis's leg. Ennis lost balance but refused to let Derek go as both Alphas fell to the bottom floor with a loud crash.

They didn't move but laid still as the dead.

After the fall happened, I vanished. Outside of the building, I spotted Cora and Boyd limping away.

"Get in," I tell them.

"What? Who are you?" Cora asked, ready to pounce.

"Just get in," said Boyd.

On the road, I called Melissa. It takes a lot to kill an Alpha, even more, to kill Derek Hale. Once Cora and Boyd were at Derek's loft. I doubled back to the mall.

"Where is he?" Melissa asked.

"He should still be inside if the Alphas haven't taken him," I replied.

Once inside, Derek and Ennis were both gone. "What do we do now?"

"We wait for them to seek medical attention."

---------------------

Later that night.

"Why are we at my son's job?"

"Because Dr. Deaton works on all dogs. That includes werewolves." I tell her. "Now, get comfortable. We're going to be here a while."

Together we sat in my truck and watched the veterinarian clinic for Derek to show up for help. When the night ended, and the sun came out to play, Derek was still a no show.

We watched Dr. Deaton arrive at work, and the patients came to and fro.

Around late morning, the Alpha Pack arrived carrying Ennis, led by Ms. Morrell, Beacon Hills High School Guidance Counselor, and Emissary to the Alpha Pack.

"Let's go," I say

Melissa followed close behind me as I entered the clinic. The waiting room was full of Alphas. All anxious to see their packmate survive. When they took notice of my presence, they immediately went on guard.

I told them that I just wanted to speak to Deaton. It was Deucalion who offered to walk me back to the operating room. I was wary of the man. I had yet to see his full strength. But as I followed Deucalion, Ms. Morrell closed the short gate, which separated the waiting area from the backrooms.

The moment that short gate latched, I felt it. The entire building turned into a prison made of Mountain ash. That meant I was trapped in a box with the Alpha of Alphas.

"I could never understand, you foxes. What do you want? You show up at the mall to watch your friends lose, and now you are here outnumbered by your enemy."

I laugh at Deucalion. "They were not my friends. I don't even know the Hale girl. Scott and Isaac, ehh. And Derek can obviously handle himself. Besides, your pack wasn't fighting to kill. And whoever said you were my enemy? I just got here."

Deucalion raises an eyebrow.

"Look, I'll do what the wolves do and shoot straight. You're just passing through, and Beacon Hills only has room for one leader. You want Derek, fine. You want the True Alpha, take him. As payment, I want that spark." I pointed towards the operating room.

"Give it to me, and you'll run free with my word, that I will not intervene," I add.

Deucalion's mutilated eyes looked towards Melissa. He then asked me, "The True Alpha too?"

"Yes. I can handle my pack." I assure him.

"Is it her you wish to make an Alpha?" he asked.

"Yes."

"But you have a pack of three. I figure your mate would be your first choice."

"When opportunities knocks," I tell him. "Besides, Satomi Ito is always an option if I want another Alpha."

Deucalion chuckled with a toothy grin. "It seems Beacon Hills has a new Alpha. Deal. But, I want to kill Satomi Ito. You help me, and I'll point you in the direction of an Alpha I know in Washington."

"You aren't slick, Deucalion. Your impaired sight makes you clumsy. You want to absorb her power. We both know Satomi is powerful and old. But you have a deal, but if you touch any of mine, the deal is void."

"If you touch any of mine, our deal is void. And if anyone ever finds out about this, our deal is void. " Deucalion replied.

When we entered the operator room. Dr.Deaton was tending to Ennis's wounds when Deucalion asked how everything was going.

Deaton responds, well, he will make a full recovery.

It wasn't what we wanted to hear. Deucalion gave me a nod, and I turned to Melissa to whisper encouraging words in her ear. She then moved forward and drove her claws in Ennis's heart. As the life left his body, his spark dissipated and merged with Melissa, changing the color of hers from yellow to a searing red.

After Melissa washed her hands, we left the clinic without a word. At the door, Deucalion suddenly spoke out.

"What you did in Minnesota was a step from miraculous. But you have to remember, Kit. I am no William."

I stopped for a moment then continued on as if his words meant, but in truth, they struck a chord.

On our way out, I saw the Hales creeping in the parking lot. I tipped my imaginary hat to Peter, who tried his best to stifle his growls.

I could sense that Peter felt he was still in the game. But he foolishly believes we're playing the same game. As I foolishly underestimated the cunningness of Deucalion.
