Chapter 28 After The Call

Before Elle slept, she took a piece of paper. She listed all the probable guests for her upcoming birthday next month. She wrote James and Andrew on the eighteen roses. Her other Grade 10th classmates were listed too like Paul Jenkins, Tom Russell and among others. She wrote Karen's name on the eighteen treasures and all other classmates from Phoenix High, she included Nanny Ann too. For her eighteen candles, she listed some of her classmates in the university. She was not done yet. She would be meeting her other classmates on the following day. She just put the paper on top of her desk. She fixed her hair, prayed sincerely before going to bed.

"No! Andrew and I are bestfriends." Elle told Karen. "But you two look a perfect couple, Elle." Karen insisted. "I don't like James for you!" Karen shouted. The two of them jogged around the park on a Saturday morning. Elle was perplexed. She stopped jogging to face Karen. "Why?" What's wrong with James, Karen?" He is kind and handsome, can be smart too." "But Andrew is smarter than him," Karen cut her off. "Do you like James?" Elle suddenly asked as she sat on a nearby bench. "No Elle! I'm just concerned about you. You already know who I'm interested with, sad to say he's not anymore in Dale. Our classmate in Grade 10," Karen said, sitting beside her. "I know that," Elle patted her back. "As long as you two have communication even you're both oceans apart, the love will never fade so easily." "I told you, I like Andrew for you, Elle." Karen said, smiling. Elle suddenly woke up breathlessly. "It was a dream!" She told herself. "It's like a real one. A vivid dream!" Elle stood up, switching on the light. She went downstairs and entered the kitchen door, took a glass of cold water from the fridge, caught her eyes on the clock, it was four o'clock in the morning. Three more hours for a nice sleep again before preparing for a morning class. She went upstairs and took a good sleep again.
