I opened my eyes and saw the sight I always saw. My room, though it felt a little odd to look at as the colors seemed faded. I moved my body to get my phone but I couldn't feel myself move.
'Is this a dream?' I asked myself.
I didn't have any time to process the situation. Because all of a sudden, two little hands like those of a child's phased through the wall I was facing and grabbed my shoulders with an inhuman strength.
I jolted and looked straight at the wall. A face soon emerged—a little girl with an innocent face. As soon as I stared into her eyes, they fell out alongside tears of blood. Her face warped into some otherworldly creature, mouth wide, eye sockets without anything in them but a pitch black abyss. Her mouth also made a sound that I couldn't understand. She didn't sound like she was speaking any particular language but it didn't feel like she was just shrieking randomly either.
The fair skin I saw was pale as if devoid of any blood and the black hair she had was dancing around wildly. It looked like she would kill me. I wanted to fight back but my body refused to do so. I could only try and hold back my tears and close my eyes.
The fear I felt was unlike anything I've felt before.
Were my prayers answered? After what felt like an eternity, the voice that I heard disappeared along with the feeling of hands on my shoulders.
I opened my eyes weakly, I wouldn't be able to bear it if I saw it again.
There was nothing there.
Just the wall that had always been there. I wanted to touch it to confirm that nothing could get through again but my body was still stuck in place.
But then... a shadow loomed over my body. It was slow, as if someone was crouching before standing up—or maybe it was growing.
The silhouette looked like that of a person's, but it wasn't. I could instinctively tell. If I turned my head back, I would die. It was nothing compared to the little girl who grabbed my shoulders.
The shadow leaned over my body and whispered in my ear. I couldn't understand its words but each and every syllable that came from its mouth struck me with an immense fear. My body was trembling despite the fact that I couldn't move it.
Please go away. Please. Please. Please.
I silently prayed while closing my eyes.
Soon enough, the shadow felt like it finished what it was going to say and the presence leaning over my body slowly vanished. The relief I felt would've made my legs collapse had I been standing up.
But, immediately after that relief washed over me, the shadow appeared once more and as if warning me, spoke only a few words in my ear. I didn't understand what it had said, but I felt like it was saying that it would come again eventually.
...
In the end, I woke up without any other implications. The only thing that could remind me of the event were my memories as my room had been in the same state it was before.
But, I knew it. Though my mind might've refused to acknowledge it, my heart does.
What had just happened was not a dream, it was reality.
Waiting for the day that it'll come again, my heart sank as I moved my body to continue my day.
