Hidden Quest

"Oy…Prime, how did I complete the hidden quest…I remember that I needed to kill this guy in one strike to complete the quest, but I do not remember doing such a thing…"

(Technically you did complete it since your last attack was done to the boar you never hit prior…kind of like a loophole, but you did complete it.)

"Kind of bullshit…but I'll accept it. Anyways, what do I get for this?"

(Just say "Accept Hidden Quest (Boar Hunter) Rewards".)

Sounds easy enough.

"Accept Hidden Quest (Boar Hunter) Rewards".

*Rewards Received*

*Now transferring "Dark Magic Affinity" to host*

Dark Magic Affinity? I can use all the basic elemental magic right now. From what I know, everyone can use any kind of element if they have some understanding of it. I am unsure of what having an affinity would do for me.

"Hey Prime, what does an Affinity do for me."

(It strengthens the speed at which you can learn a variety of Dark Magic. It lay men terms, it pretty much means having a study guide tailored to a specific subject. It does not give you any sort of power boost, just that you could probably learn silent magic for dark spells that have the same strength as a chanted spell at a faster rate.)

Oh, that is handy. Nothing groundbreaking like having Unique Attributes but being able to learn magic faster means the time I spend in here gets shorter. Albeit indirectly, my dark magic does get a boost if I could master more powerful spells sooner.

"This is an assumption of mine…but does that mean the other rewards for the Hidden Quests would be an Element based affinity?"

(Correct. They may not do much for strength, but the foundation of your magic will improve. It may not be as noticeable as having an Attribute that, for example, doubles your magic output, but learning how to use one element better will have an indirect effect on all your other elements.)

"What do you mean?"

(You have already established a foundation of learning all the basic elements, therefore you could attribute it to being able to run on all the different paths of magic. However, now that you have an affinity towards a type of magic, it is akin to being able to ride a horse on one path. Now like riding one horse, you could ride any horse if you know how to ride one. It is the same with magic. Now that you can grasp a better perspective on one path, all paths can broaden.)

"Oh, I see. So, it is like riding a bike. If I ride one bike, I could ride them all. But that assumes that all bikes are the same and do not have any subtle differences."

(That is why I said you have a foundation for basic elements. When it comes to having an intermediate level understanding, you would not even be able to see the path let alone walk on it. I know what you mean by the subtle differences, but the core concept is still the same.)

Makes sense.

"So, what would be the best possible way to use this affinity."

(Simple. Keep practicing as you have but keep incorporating dark magic. For example, run while imbuing your body with dark magic will allow you to naturally be more accepting of imbuing an attribute body. This will allow you to have a more minute control over not only your magic power, but also to raise your efficiency.)

"Oh, so by having an affinity, the speed at which I could essentially enchant myself with magic will increase."

(Pretty much. I think you should return to base now; it is already getting dark and the stronger monsters might detect your presence.)

Oh fuck, I got to move now then.
