As soon as both girls approached, Azrek stopped focusing on the chessboard.

'Something isn't right, servants would never come this near to me without announcing themselves!' After composing himself, he looked toward the sound calmly.

Three pair of eyes met and both sides were pretty surprised, Sona and Rias were surprised due to the fact that when they met his eyes, they felt as if they were swallowed by them, while Azrek was surprised to see who they were, he quickly deactivated his sub-brain and the feeling of being swallowed immediately disappeared for Rias and Sona.

Azrek smiled wryly before nodding his head at them.

"Lady Sitri it has been a few years since we last saw each other, I hope you're doing well, as for you, I don't believe we had the pleasure to speak together Lady Gremory." Azrek's smile was quickly replaced by a genin one as he started the conversation to not create an awkward moment.

"It has indeed been a while Lord Dantalion, I'm very well these days thank you," Sona replied first with a smile since they already saw each other back in the Sitri's Territory.

"Indeed, I don't think we ever talked to each other before today, but I need to thank you for becoming friends with my cousin even after what happened." Rias also smiled and replied to him in.

Since all of them had pretty much the same social standing, they could speak more freely than if lower ranked devils were present, thanks to that Azrek was much more relaxed compared to when he spoke to the other devils in the gathering room.

"Don't mention it, Sairaorg is a friend of mine, speaking of this, did you see him these days? How is he?" Azrek asked since he wanted to know if he had already started training.

"Hmm, I saw him not too long ago, I also heard that he started training intently these past few months, thanks for your concern." Rias still replied with a smile.

"Alright, good to know, give him my greetings the next time you see him." Azrek was pretty happy about this news, it meant that he didn't affect the timeline too much.

"Then Ladies, did you need something from me this late at night?" Azrek didn't know why they approached him but he didn't mind, on one side was his potential fiancee and on the other was someone who possessed a comparable standing to himself, thus he didn't have to act restrained when he spoke to them.

"When we arrived we didn't plan to come forward, but since we saw you playing chess, we decided to come to see what was happening," Sona replied directly, she loved chess and since she had previously said that she wouldn't marry someone less intelligent than herself it was maybe a good time to see if that was the case.

When Azrek heard this, he couldn't help but think about something.

'Wasn't it mentioned once that Sona's fiancee lost to her in chess and thus their engagement was dissolved back in the novel... no matter what, I won't raise the issue and see how it goes.'

"Oh, it's nothing much, I was only trying to resolve some play my father left me this morning, but I seem to be stuck at the moment." As Azrek was speaking, he pushed the Chessboard toward both of them who looked at it for a moment.

When Rias and Sona saw the chessboard, they started to think about some solution but they soon found themselves stuck, even though the both of them were genius, being only ten years old, neither of them had attained Azrek's Chess skills yet, and thus they didn't seem to be able to resolve the play.

After watching them struggle for a while, Azrek decided to try to solve it once more.

When both of them just arrived, he was just about to solve the play, but he didn't have time to finish his simulations before they came forward, thus he hadn't been able to.

He was able to quickly see the issue of each combination, soon he returned to the point he was at previously, but this time he didn't stop and managed to quickly get to the checkmate, he started to move surprising the two girls sitting in front of him.

His moves were quick and precise as he moved the pieces to checkmate the opposite color.

While Rias and Sona observed his play, both felt shocked, they were sure that even if they trained some more years, they wouldn't be able to catch up to him at least in terms of chess.

Sona's confidence also started to waver a little when thinking about the matter of their engagement, from what she had seen, the person before her was even smarter than her, aside from that, he had high social standing, could be considered as handsome and didn't seem to be arrogant. Compared to the other candidates she had to marry in the future, he was surely the best, but she still didn't want to let someone else choose who she was going to marry.

"So it was like this..." Azrek muttered to himself as he was replaying his play in his memories and began to understand what took him so much time, thus making his experience in chess accumulate further polishing his skill.

"Sorry, both of you, I space out a little." When Azrek opened his eyes once again, he was able to see the two little girls looking at him.

"It doesn't matter, you're very good at chess." The one who replied this time was Rias.

"No no, I'm just slightly good at it, I still can't beat neither my mother and my father." Azrek had a calm expression, he was sure that even in the human world, some chess masters were vastly superior to himself, in reality, he even wondered what would happen if they one day became Devils and managed to get their own peerage, this could be an interesting experience in the future.

"You're being too humble, I don't think I could beat the current you in Chess," Sona replied while still feeling a little down about the situation, now she wouldn't be able to dodge the engagement with the method she had planned to use.

After that, the three of them continued to speak for some time, aside from Sairaorg, they were the peoples his age Azrek had the longest conversation with.

At the end of the gathering, the three have them could be considered to have become friends, of course, they probably wouldn't see each other before one more year when they would go to get their Evil Pieces since Azrek had told them that he wouldn't attend the coming gatherings.

So they separated when everyone left the Dantalion's Territory.
