ABDUCTION

Stirred from the depths of sleep, my eyes peeled open only to be meet with darkness. The only thing visible was the green glow of the clock on my nightstand table. It was 3:45 am. Though it wasn't restlessness that had awoken me but instead the sound of the front door opening and closing. I was used to being awoken at this hour. Unfortunately I lived in an apartment with a roommate who enjoyed staying out late partying in frat houses.

Stretching my limbs, my feet touched the cold tiles as I creeped out of bed. The hallway was dark so I traced my fingers alongside the wall to avoid tripping up on something. "Alexa" I said out into the dark only to be met with no response. I was suddenly in front of her bedroom door and in curiosity my hand gripped the metal handle and turned it open. Inside Alexa was asleep and sound in her bed snoring rather loudly. I closed the door back quietly. She was probably so drunk she passed out once she hit the sheets. Well that's solves that I thought.

With the feeling of dryness in my throat I made my way the kitchen. I went to flip the light switch on but stopped immediately in my tracks once I noticed the outline of a dark figure standing on the far side of the living room. My eyes widened as my body overcame with immobilizing fear. A stream of moonlight shone through the curtains illuminating a thick black boot and what I conceived to be the point of a hand gun. I could see nothing more and for what felt like forever I just stood there in place too afraid to move or even make a sound for that matter. The figure began to inch its way closer to me and the moonlight revealed their entire appearance.

This was obviously a man and a big tall muscular one at that.

He was dressed all in black with a mask covering everything but his mouth and eyes which were icy blue. Gloved hands wrapped tightly around a gun in which he pointed directly at me.

"Don't say a word don't make a sound" He said in a deep raspy voice. He came closer and closer until he was right in front of me. The man easily towered over me and the feeling of dread quickly swept over my body. With the hand that wasn't pointing a gun at my head he grazed the side on my face down until he had a firm grip on my chin. "Pretty enough I think you'll do just fine" he said with a smirk letting go of my chin.

I could feel my heart beating in my chest faster and faster. Who the hell was this? Why were they here? What did they want?

A loud gasp left my mouth when his strong hand roughly jerked me around bending me over to press my face against the cold hard table.

"Please don't hurt me!" I whimpered feeling my vision blur with tears.

"Ah ah ah now don't you worry your pretty little mind" his words came out with a click of his tongue. The hot tears streamed down horizontally across my face wetting the table beneath me.

I could hear him shuffling in his pocket. From the corner of my eye I could see a long needle in his hand. My eyes widened and I squirmed to get out of his grasp.

My hand managed to find a glass cup that was on the table and I grabbed it and aimlessly threw it behind me. The glass didn't hit him but instead landed somewhere on the floor with a crash which temporarily startled him allowing me to slip away.

The light in the hallway suddenly flickered on revealing an awoken Alexa.

"Riley what the he-" She stopped eyes widening.

"Alexa run!" I shouted but before I could even make the first initial steps myself, I was grabbed and yanked by my long hair which caused me to fall back onto the ground hitting my head. I clenched my eyes closed as the pain set in. I reopened my eyes to see Alexa running back to her bedroom. The man pulled out his gun and before I could even blink she was shot in the back of the head.

My mouth opened wide in horror at what I had just witnessed. I scrambled to get up and make my escape but he grabbed me again and wrapped a thick arm around my neck holding me back. I saw the gun drop to the floor and again he picked up the long needle and positioned it to the back of my neck.

"Please please you don't hurt me!" I begged in between breaths struggling to get the words out almost choking on his deadly grip.

"Now now look what you made me do!" He bantered forcing me to face Alexa's dead body which was sprawled out on the ground in a pool of blood.

"I'm gonna need you to take a deep breath for me"

Without a warning the needle was shoved into my neck a sharp pain followed and I screeched out.

In only a few moments my vision became hazed and my body was overcome by a feeling of extreme overwhelming drowsiness.

"Sleep well darling" was the last thing I heard the man say before I fell unconscious.
