Ying Xuan crossed her arms. These guys were douche bags. She did not care that they were her seniors or players on the basketball team. Any respect she might have had for them evaporated into thin air.
Ying Xuan was about to ask Weiwei to speak for her, but the one in the middle beat her to it.
He said, "Cut it out guys." Then, turning to the three, he said, "I'm really sorry how these guys behaved. But they are right. Don't expect to be taken on the team just because you are someone from a powerful family. Maybe the college takes candidates that way, but the sport team doesn't."
Saying this, he turned around and walked in.
Shi Weiwei said, "Apparently, that's Shen Jie. It's rumoured that this time he will be chosen as the captian of the basketball team, because the previous captian passed out this year."
Ying Xuan turned towards Weiwei, 'Is he any good?'
Shi Weiwei shrugged, "How would I know? I've never seen him play."
Ying Xuan looked back at the entrance, 'Then let's go and correct that wrong.'
Apparently Shen Jie was right. The college did indeed take sport teams very seriously. Ying Xuan could tell that by the presence of the director along with many other people there.
The head p. ed. teacher came forward when everyone had assembled in a great hall and said, "I see that you are all here for the team trials. We will have trials for one team at a time. First will be volleyball. So those who want to watch the trials can do so. Others, might head anywhere but make sure they don't miss the trials. Because they will not be held again."
Shen Jie, who was standing a few feets away from Ying Xuan, said, "Who wants to watch the trials? Let's go and shoot some hoops. What do you say guys?" His voice was loud as though he was hoping that a certain someone would listen. But Ying Xuan had not heard his statement as she was distracted by a certain someone who kept staring at her throughout the teacher's speech and was now coming over.
Wei Jingyu walked over, surprisingly alone. Shi Weiwei and Su Shaoyan immediately turned hostile and their faces subconsciously became defensive. Su Shaoyan even tried to hide Ying Xuan behind his back.
But Xuan signed to them not to worry, and stood waiting for Jingyu's arrival, arms crossed.
Wei Jingyu approached Xuan and said in a small voice, " Which team are you going to try out for?"
Su Shaoyan noticed that his voice was a lot different. Of course, the voice was the same, but his tone was a lot less arrogant and a lot more nervous.
Xuan signed, 'Basketball.'
Shi Weiwei opened her mouth to translate, "Bask....." But Wei Jingyu stopped her.
He said, "I understood that."
He then turned again to Xuan and said, "What are you thinking of doing before the trials?"
Ying Xuan shrugged.
Wei Jingyu: "I do hope you come to watch the volleyball trials. I would love that."
He then added, looking down, "Of course, it's all up to you."
Wei Jingyu then turned around and walked towards the exit of the hall.
