The dinner had been a very happy event.
Ying Xuan was elated that her mother was home, and even her father didn't give so much as a frown to her.
Ying Xi was quite sulky due to having stayed the whole day in the house, but even she watched her attitude and Xuan actually felt happy like a real family that day.
Ying Xuan was brought out of her thoughts by Su Shaoyan's voice. "Did you prepare your dress for the ball?" he asked.
'The design is almost done. I'll work on it after the exams.' Xuan replied and went back to her food.
Though she ate, her mind was filled by someone. It had been quite some time since she thought of Alex. Actually, she hadn't thought of him since she came to college.
Xuan often thought of him when she was back home, she didn't have much to think about back then.
But here, Ying Xuan was surprised that she hadn't remembered Alex in almost six months. She tilted her head as she wondered where Alex was right now and what he was doing.
One week later. . . .
Though very dreaded, the exams passed by in a blur.
It was a whole week of all nighters, quick lunches and hanging out at the library.
Ying Xuan smiled as she walked out of the building after giving the last exam.
She pulled out the pins that had been holding her hair up in a bun and ran her fingers through them. Xuan looked down at her dress and chuckled. She was wearing a white t-shirt and denim jeans with white sneakers.
For the past week, this had been her go to outfit and a bun had been her go to hairstyle.
A long sigh escaped Xuan's lips as she felt the wind blow her hair back.
She was really looking forward to finally get some sleep.
"Hey, how did you do?" Lu Zuan asked, walking towards Xuan with the question paper in her hands.
This had been Zuan's first question to almost everyone after every exam.
Xuan replied with a shrug, 'Grammar is my weak point. I rather like literature. I think I did pretty well. What about you?'
"Well I think I did good. But I wonder if I ought to have written. . . . . ." Ying Xuan zoned out of the conversation and looked around.
She saw Shi Weiwei walking over and waved.
Weiwei waved back and walked over.
"Finally!! I didn't know that exams could be so stressful!!" Weiwei exclaimed as she came within earshot, massaging her forehead.
Xuan chuckled, 'You in particular have been really stressed. It seems like you lost weight!' she signed.
"Tell me about it!!" Weiwei exclaimed, "I'm plan to make up for all the lost calories." she said.
Xuan laughed as Lu Zuan asked, "Hey Weiwei. What did you write in. . . . ."
Her voice was cut short by Su Shaoyan, who had sneaked up behind Zuan at some point and shrieked now, "Oh please!!!!!! I cannot take another word about studying!! All I can think about is partying!!!"
Lu Zuan rolled her eyes as Ying Xuan laughed. Shi Weiwei chuckled as she spoke, "Don't worry Zuan. We'll discuss the paper later. Anyway guys, who's hungry!?!?!"
Everyone joined in enthusiastically and the four headed for the cafeteria.
