To get out of partying!!

Ying Xuan thought and thought. But she really couldn't remember anything she had promised to Wei Jingyu.

Her face turned guilty as she mouthed, 'Sorry.'

Jingyu leaned down with a smile, "Don't be sorry. I'm sure it has just slipped your mind. After all, you weren't the one shooting hoops trying to make a half-court shot."

Wei Jingyu's lips lingered for a bit longer at Xuan's ear as the physical impact of what she remembered hit her.

Of course!! She had promised Jingyu a date!

Ying Xuan turned to look at Su Shaoyan and signed, 'Really sorry Shaoyan. I really did promise him! Maybe we can go out some other night?'

Su Shaoyan pouted and looked at Wei Jingyu. "What did she promise you? Tell me. Cause I feel this is all just a clever ruse for Xuan to get away." he spoke.

Wei Jingyu looked at Xuan and raised an eyebrow. He didn't know how much she had told her friends or how much she wanted them to know.

'We're going on a date.' Xuan signed.

Wei Jingyu: "...." *internally* "Well that was unexpected"

Lu Zuan: "....."

Shi Weiwei looked up from her food, chopsticks halfway down and mouth open.

Su Shaoyan pointed an accusing finger at Xuan, "I can't believe you would go on a date with him just to get out of partying!!"

Ying Xuan: "....."

Just as Wei Jingyu was contemplating how angry Xuan would be if he hit Shaoyan, the latter's face broke into a smile as he waved his hand, "I'm just kidding. Go on Xuan. Have fun tonight." he winked as he said the last sentence and both Xuan and Jingyu immediately blushed upon catching his meaning.

Shaoyan then turned to the other two girls and looked at them expectantly.

Lu Zuan huffed and spoke, "Fine! We're still going."

Su Shaoyan beamed and turned to Weiwei for confirmation, but was surprised to see her looking at her mobile with furrowed brows.

"What's wrong Weiwei?" he asked, as the others also turned to look at her.

Shi Weiwei looked up from her mobile, brows still furrowed. "I don't know. Mr. Yang wants to meet me this evening. He said it's something important about my play." she spoke, looking distracted.

"Who?" Shaoyan asked.

"My drama teacher idiot." Shi Weiwei replied, rolling her eyes.

"Something about the play? Do you think he found something amiss?" Jingyu asked.

Weiwei shook her head, "No. He told me the script was perfect and the actors flawless. He wouldn't have said that if he didn't really think it."

"Did he sound serious?" Zuan asked.

Weiwei shrugged, "Not really. But he did say it might inconvenience me a bit."

'Whatever it is, don't worry Weiwei. We'll all come to know this evening. And we'll get with it together.' Xuan signed and all the others nodded.

Shi Weiwei smiled before turning to Shaoyan.

"I'm sorry Shaoyan. I don't know how long my meeting with Mr. Yang will take. I don't think I'll be able to make it." she said, sounding genuinely sorry.

Shaoyan shrugged and smiled. "I guess that settles it then. We'll be going some other night. Tonight, I guess I'm gonna relax!!" he said, turning to Lu Zuan, who nodded.

Wei Jingyu smiled and spoke softly to Ying Xuan, "I'll see you at the main gate of the campus at 5 o'clock. Don't be late."
