What drew his attention was that the boots were ankle-length, he might have thought they were Xuan's but the shoes were typical men boots of brown leather other than being ankle length.
"Those are mine?" he asked. Xuan looked around to where he was pointing and smiled. 'Yeah. Though they still require a bit of work. I have to make some finishing touches to the boots. Anyway, what do you think?' she signed, looking at the boots ans then at Wei Jingyu.
"What do I think?" Jingyu asked. "Well, to be honest I'm wondering if we are going as a couple of clowns." he said.
Ying Xuan: '.....'
Wei Jingyu: "Why else would I wear frilled shirts and ankle length boots??"
Ying Xuan: '....'
Jingyu: "Say something." he said, with a laugh. Seeing Ying Xuan pouting, he walked closer to her and spoke, taking a lock of her hair in his hand, "But you know what, I'm not worried. With our looks, we'll probably be the prettiest couple even if we turn up in clown outfits."
When Xuan didn't reply, Jingyu continued, "Please. I'm sorry Xuan. Just tell me what these are supposed to be?"
Ying Xuan threw her hands up in frustration and signed, 'Eighteenth century formal dress. It's the formal get up for men in the eighteenth century!!!'
"Oh?" Jingyu replied, "We're going dressed as a couple from eighteenth century?" Xuan nodded with a pout and he smiled. "Well you see, I don't know how people dressed up in the eighteenth century. I'm sure we'll both look good."
'Yeah, if everyone there is not as clueless as you.' Ying Xuan signed and Wei Jingyu softly pecked her cheek before saying, "No one on the whole earth is as clueless as me. But you're gonna have to help me get ready, I'll never know what to do with those." He said, pointing to the frilled shirt.
Xuan smiled guiltily and signed, 'Actually. . . . .' Wei Jingyu raised an eyebrow and she continued, 'I kind of actually promised Shaoyan that he could help you get ready.'
Wei Jingyu held his forehead and shook his head. "No wonder you weren't angry when I called the outfits dress for clowns. Anyway, you haven't eaten yet, have you? Let's go."
The two looked at each other and smiled before leaving the room.
A few days later. . . . .
All of Shi Weiwei's brave soldiers had waded through the storm that was Ying Xi and it was finally the day of the performance. The plays were going to be performed just after the speech of the important personalities and a few events before the ramp-walk for the fashion designing students, so the students who were participating in both, like Wei Jingyu, had time to change.
The backstage was a full of hussle and bustle as all the actors and the supporting staff of the three plays to be performed today rushed about, shouting for one thing or other.
Ying Xuan was busy styling Wei Jingyu's hair when she heard a loud crash behind her and turned around, Wei Jingyu also peeked from behind her, sitting in his chair.
Nobody was really surprised to see that Ying Xi was causing a commotion. She had apparently not liked the way Shaoyan was doing her eye-makeup and had started to complain about it.
