I'll ruin everything

From her chair, Ying Xi looked on as Wei Jingyu dragged Xuan away, slowing his pace and shifting his hand to hold hers after they were out of earshot from her.

Her heart almost burnt in jealousy when she saw Jingyu smile at Xuan, all traces of anger gone, and lean closer to whisper something in her ear. "Just you wait Xuan. I'll ruin everything for you." Ying Xi mumbled to herself as she turned to look at herself in the mirror once again.

Wei Jingyu led Xuan away from her sister and whispered in her ear with a smile, "Something more important needs your attention." Ying Xuan tilted her head in confusion, and Jingyu only smiled mysteriously.

He led her to a corner and Ying Xuan was very surprised to see Mo Kio standing there, looking very worried. Kio needed her attention? Whatever for? But seeing them coming towards him he moved aside and Xuan saw what it was that needed her attention.

Shi Weiwei sat curled up in a chair, her head in her hands. As she walked closer, Xuan could hear Weiwei muttering something. But it was too low to make out the words. Shi Weiwei was anxious, that much was obvious. She might even be having a panic attack. Ying Xuan signed to Wei Jingyu to bring some water before she knelt in front of her and held her hands, prying them away from her face.

At first Weiwei didn't want to, but once she saw who it was, Shi Weiwei flung her arms around Ying Xuan and spoke, her voice shaking, "I'm scared Xuan! I'm so scared." Xuan didn't say anything and only stoked and patted her head, letting her wail out all of her fears.

By the time Weiwei was done, Wei Jingyu was back with a bottle of water. He handed it to Xuan, who pulled back and gave it to Shi Weiwei with a smile. While she gulped down the water, Xuan signed, 'Why are you so worried Weiwei?'

"The play." Shi Weiwei replied in a small voice. "The play is. . . . . " Mo Kio began, but Xuan put up her hand to silence him and signed, 'What about the play?' "Something could go wrong." Weiwei replied, sounding a bit confused.

'What could go wrong?' Xuan signed and Weiwei replied, "So many things." Xuan signed with a smile, 'Imagine so many things go wrong, what's the worst that will happen?' Shi Weiwei blinked her eyes in confusion, "Well. . . . . " she thought for some time, "I won't get any sponsors and no one will poach me. Mr. Yang might be angry."

'And what will change in your life tomorrow if all these things do happen? Which is very unlikely?' Xuan signed again and Weiwei thought for a long time before her face broke into a resigned smile. "Nothing much." she said. Xuan also smiled and signed, 'What can you do to make sure everything goes all right?'

Weiwei's smile this time was confident and she stood up as she said, "Boost the morale of my actors, instead of getting nervous myself." Ying Xuan patted her head with a smile and looked at her back as Shi Weiwei walked off towards where the cast of her play had assembled, all ready for the performance.
