"Listen everyone." Lu Zuan said. "What is she trying to do?" Ying Xi thought, suddenly wary. This one was probably the smartest of the group, it wouldn't do well to have her think of a solution. Xi looked around and was relieved to see that no one was paying her attention among the chaos.
But to her immense shock, Lu Zuan produced a bluetooth microphone from somewhere and spoke into it. "Everyone! Please pay attention." she said, her voice calm and controlled.
Ying Xi frowned upon hearing Lu Zuan's words. She wouldn't be able to do anything now. Marylene was supposed to be dumb, and she had spoken on the stage!! Who could recover from that. But the calmness in Zuan's voice and the lack of panic on her face really unsettled Ying Xi.
Al the people backstage stopped in their tracks upon hearing Lu Zuan. Even the ones who weren't in their play turned their attention to her.
Zuan looked around, took a deep breath and mumbled under her breath, "Let's hope this works Xuan." before bringing the mic to her mouth.
"Everyone! Go to your assigned positions. Do whatever you were supposed to do. The second scene will be starting shortly." Zuan said, and her heart sank upon seeing the dejected faces around her.
"But how will we go through with it!?! This bi*ch has ruined everything!!" someone screamed, pointing towards Ying Xi behind her. Lu Zuan turned to fix Xi with a glare before she turned back to the person who had spoken. "She won't be ruining anything anymore. And I'm doing damage control." she said, looking the girl straight in the eyes.
"Damage control!" the girl scoffed and crossed her arms. "Guys come on!!" Zuan raised her voice in the mic, getting desperate by the second. She looked around, and was about to give it up when someone from the crowd said, "Let's do it guys. I wanna see the legendary Lu Zuan in action." Zuan frowned and sighed when she spotted the person who had said this. It was someone she knew from high school, a boy that had annoyed her all through high school. They were more than acquaintances, but it would have been a bit of a strech to say that they were friends. Frenemies, seemed the more appropriate word.
Anyway, his words seemed to have a weird effect on the people in the crowd. Or maybe it was the sudden appearance of Wei Jingyu, who had walked in from God knew where.
At first, people began to look at the ones beside them and softly murmur, then the voices steadily grew until almost everyone was beginning to go back to where they were required.
"Go do your thing." Wei Jingyu whispered as he walked over to Zuan, who nodded and had started walking on the stage when a voice called out, "Do you bi*ches think it'll be that easy?!"
Zuan turned around and was not surprised to see Ying Xi going into hysterical mode once again.
"Oh no you don't." Wei Jingyu said as Xi made a move towards Lu Zuan. Some of his friends appeared as mysteriously as he had, and grabbed Ying Xi by the shoulders and carried her away.
'Where are they taking her?' Zuan signed to Jingyu who signed back, 'Just making sure she'll not be in the way. Now go on.'
