The whole hall suddenly became alive with sounds as the audience stood up and started applauding. Some were hooting and many were laughing with tears in their eyes as they continued to applaud.
Xuan and Jingyu were still locked in each other's embrace, tears streaking down their eyes. "That felt way too real." Wei Jingyu muttered and he felt Xuan chuckle, wiping her tears. Both of them pulled back when they heard the others coming on stage to do the curtain call, and Ying Xuan flew to Shi Weiwei's side as she climbed on the stage.
'How are you?' Xuan signed, worry filling her eyes. Weiwei let out a smile and said, "Great! The play went perfectly, and you got to play Marylene. What more could I want." Ying Xuan nodded as Weiwei began the curtain call. She introduced everyone, and it was hard to tell whether the audience cheered the loudest at her introduction or Jingyu's.
But Ying Xuan stood on the stage, a thoughtful look on her face and looking in the direction of the retreating Shi Weiwei, as everyone began to file off the stage. She snapped back when Jingyu lightly touched her back and asked, "All okay?"
Xuan looked at him and signed, 'Yeah. It's just that. . . . . . Weiwei seemed down.' "This was a lot to take in for any director. We literally just did anything we wanted to. And that too on stage." Jingyu said, giving an encouraging smile to Xuan.
'Yeah . . . . . But . . . . . ' Ying Xuan began, but Wei Jingyu cut her off, saying, "Talk to her afterwards if you want. She has already gone to take feedback from the judge, and don't you need to get me into that ridiculous costume for the ramp-walk?" 'They are not ridiculous.' Xuan signed, lightly hitting Jingyu's arm as they both walked off stage, 'And Shaoyan is helping you anyway.'
"The way I'm wearing that thing and even letting Shaoyan help me, with all his extra energy." Wei Jingyu said, pouting, "And you haven't even shown me what you are wearing." 'I thought you liked surprises.' Xuan replied with a chuckle.
About an hour later . . . . .
"I swear to god Shaoyan, if you try to put eyeliner on me one more time, I AM GOING TO LOSE IT!!!" Wei Jingyu thundered in the dressing room where he was getting ready. Su Shaoyan, who had been walking towards him with an eyeliner in his hand, could have easily beaten a superhero with the speed with which he turned towards the closest mirror and started applying eyeliner on himself, muttering, "Geez! Everything is not about you Jingyu!!"
Some of the boys around them chuckled along with Jingyu, who sat back down on his chair and started styling his hair as he looked around.
The whole dressing room was a complete chaos as different fashion students ran from here to there. Some girls had come into this room to help their partners get ready, some boys had gone to the other room, and some of them were on video call to save time.
Wei Jingyu sighed. He wished Ying Xuan would also come to help him. "I don't understand why her dress needs to be a surprise from me." he muttered to himself as Su Shaoyan timidly walked over to help with his hair, checking to see how angry Jingyu was and the probable chances of a punch.
