Ying Xuan was thoroughly enjoying herself to the music when she felt a tug at her sleeve. She opened her eyes to see Su Shaoyan trying to shout something over the sound of the music, but failing miserably.
'What?!' she signed, and he seemed to get the hint as he signed, 'Come with me.'
Xuan frowned as she let herself be led away by Su Shaoyan. All her friends were being extra paranoid today. Shaoyan led her to a corner of the hall that was mostly empty with just one or two people lingering about.
Ying Xuan cocked her head as she placed her hands on her hips and fixed Shaoyan with a stare. "Relax! I'm not about to take advantage of you." he spoke, rolling his eyes.
"You might be the campus belle, but believe me when I say it babe, not everyone wants a piece of you." he added, actually managing a very good resting bitch face. This led to Xuan bursting with laughter. 'Okay okay. What do you want?' she signed, tears of laughter filling her eyes.
Su Shaoyan's face immediately turned serious as he whipped out a big white handkerchief from god knew where and began to wipe off the sweat from her face. "They'll be announcing the title of the belle of the ball any moment now. And I'll be mortified if I let you go up to receive that title looking like this." he said.
Xuan pulled out her phone to look at her face in the camera. She looked fine. A little sweaty maybe, but nothing too noticeable. Her make-up was all water and smudge proof, so it was perfect. Though her hair, ughhhh, Xuan let out a groan. The complicated updo had come loose with her dancing and jumping around the dance floor. She's probably have to do it again now that she had noticed, but it would have been fine if she hadn't.
The belle and gentleman of the ball was going to be announced on the basis of pictures they took as they entered the hall, it wouldn't really mattered what she looked like now.
"Is something wrong?" a deep voice pulled Xuan's attention towards Wei Jingyu who had just arrived, having missed Xuan on the dance floor.
But before Ying Xuan could raise her hands to reply, Su Shaoyan flew to him. "Oh thank god you're here too!! I need to clean you up too. Look how sweaty you both have gotten!" he exclaimed, rushing up to wipe Jingyu's face with the handkerchief.
But Jingyu only slapped his hand away before turning to Xuan and asking, "What's the matter?" Xuan sighed with a smile as she shook her head. It was absolutely adorable how worried Wei Jingyu was about her. She knew he was supposed to be the bad boy of the school, the dark prince who got into fights at least twice a day, but sometimes she just wanted to squish his cheeks and play with his hair.
She walked up to Su Shoayan who had turned to look at her with a very wronged expression. Xuan took the handkerchief from his hands and signed, 'I'll fix him, you start on my hair.'
Shaoyan's face lit up as he saw that his efforts were actually being appreciated.
