A new friend Chapter 3

Elizabeth woke from her sleep the dawn sunlight streaming through the tiny holes in the tree she was hiding in remembering the incident from the night before she stood up quickly her body aching from the bent position she was in for a long period of time she bumped her head on the roof of the tree wincing in pain she crouched and crawled out of the hollow tree getting to the small opening at the base she peeked out and was alarmed at what she saw it was a unicorn lying on the forest floor it looked to be a adolescent it was streaked with its silver blood it's once beautiful shiny coat was dull with dust and dry blood it was laboring to breathe looking as if it was on the verge of death Elizabeth slowly crawled to the creature being wary of its long sharp horn and it's hooves she knew how much damage a unicorn could do and she didn't want to risk being mutilated by it once she was close enough the unicorn noticed her and neighed a weak warning not knowing if the unicorn could understand her she tried soothing the animal "It's ok I'm going to help you" she knew a healing spell that she learned from Magic School she wasnt very talented with magic so she didn't know if she would even be able to do it the unicorn at this point not caring because it was in so much pain layed its head down in the leaves letting the human help her Elizabeth concentrated on the spell she knew placing her hands on the unicorns side covering her hands in dust and blood she closed her eyes and chanted the spell a warm glowing light flowed out of her hands into as well as around her and the pained animal the golden glow made the atmosphere a bit warm as it healed the unicorn closing cuts the unicorn recieved and healing muscle tissue Elizabeth was beginning to feel lightheaded the magic was stripping away her energy but the spell wasn't finished concentrating further she restored lost blood to the unicorn until she fell limp into the leaves blacking out from lack of energy the spell finally finished the warm glow fading to nothing and someone limped not to far from her in search of her....
