Chapter 3: work
There was a knock on the door.
"Who could it be?" Ken kai thought.
He moved away from his mother and then opened the door. The person present in front of him was none other than the old women who brought his mother home, when she was sick.
Old women: Is your mother ok now?
Ken Kai: No, she is still sick, but doctors said that she will be ok.
Old women: Than that's good but there is a problem
Ken Kai: What?
Old women: Your mother works at the village chief's house, and she had already been away for long, so the chief is angry right now as no one is there for work.
Hearing this Kai Ken was said as her mother's job was now on the line but he can't send his mother for work in this condition, so he looked at his mother and made a decision.
Ken kai: Aunty, can I replace my mother?
Old women: Well, that depends on them but do you really want to work there?
Ken kai: Yes…
Old women: Ok then come with me…
Ken kai looked at his mother and then said to his mother, "Mommy, I will be back soon". When her mother heard this, she just gave a smile and then Ken kai left his mother to visit the Village chief's house.
After a few minutes' walk they reach the house
Village chief's house was quite big. Visiting inside he saw a familiar figure, it was none other Yuji. Though he rarely see him, but still he didn't forget how he looks as he is the reason for him being called, dog, trash, dirt, etc…
Yuji: Haa… it's you dirty dog! Shu-shu… you will make the house dirty.
The moment he saw Ken Kai, he started mocking at him. Hearing the noise, the village chief also came down. He was none other than that man, who tried to touch his mother weirdly…
Village chief: What's the ruckus?
Yuji: Nothing father, I am just sending a dirty dog away
The chief didn't listen to his words and looked directly at Ken Kai
Chief: Are you the son of Chiyako-san?
Ken Kai: Yes, my na-
Chief: Cut the crap and start doing your work. You *pointing at the old women who brought ken kai* tell him his work.
With that he left the place. Following him Yuji also left.
After that, the old women made him understand his works. Ken kai, only had to do cleaning and serve the food to master's. Also, she told him that he has to do work in few other places also.
Listening to this, Ken kai got shocked, that time he come to know just how much work his mother did to earn food for him and herself. Thinking about his mother, Ken kai get full of energy and started doing work.
It was an easy job, but when you look at the size of the house and rooms, then it becomes difficult.
Ken kai did jobs with full of energy, though he made mistakes at first but he soon get used to it. Starting early in the morning he had to clean the house and serve food, then in other places, he had to wash clothes, take care of baby and also, clean animals dump area.
All these work started from the early morning and then end at night.
Also, now his mothers fever had also gone down so this was also a big news for him, thus increasing his moral more and he again happily did all the jobs. But even though he is dead tied after doing jobs, he never forgot to cook food and change clothes on his mother's for-head.
One night
Mother: Thank you…
Ken kai: For what?
Mother: For looking after this old lady…
Ken Kai: hahaha… old lady? No I think you are a young girl…
Mother: hehe… flirting with me will get you no where…
Ken kai: I am not flirting, I am just trying to lift your mood, and what is this thanking me? I am your son, and as a son it is my job to look after you. No sorry not my job but my life, my principles, my everything…
With that Ken kai's mother held his hand tightly and slept.
Even though Ken Kai never get much sleep because he has to keep changing clothes for his mother, still he never get late for work.
But today, Ken kai was too much tired, resulting, spilling the tea over Yuji…
