The fiery orange-red colour glisten over Neon High School. A day long ceremony was put to an end. Outside the gate, the three male idols were waiting for their car to arrive. It was was just an act of waiting for a cab like every ordinary people does yet the three young men painted an art that of Greek Gods. Beautiful people can really paint a white background colourful. Every passerby who were looking at their direction swore that they were absolutely going to believe in this idiom. And why not? They had seen a living example anyway.
Unaware that they had somehow created a new religion where people only worship good-looks, the group of three stood leisurely at the same place not until Raven saw a person walking towards them. He sneered at the person with hate and whispered something to HaeSung.
HaeSung looked sideways and of course the timid MinJun was walking over his way. It made him curious. What does the person has to say this time around?
Stopping at some distance MinJun nervously lifted his eyes upwards. Before he could speak the sharp tongued Raven snatched his limelight.
"Hey. Isn't this our MinJun? A wolf in sheep clothing. Take a clear look at his face. Tch. Tch. Such a shy timid face.Ah.! A perfect cover for his ruthless heart. Tsk. Someone who is selfish enough to stake a life then forced himself upon others."
Although MinJun had already guessed that his trade wouldn't remain hidden from them for long but he had hoped it could be otherwise. Now hearing Raven say so, he wanted to sigh..sure enough it was something much more to ask.But at this moment his concerns differ somewhat. Raven knows then Keet must have known about it. Thinking this way a kind of fear evolved his heart. MinJun hastily shifted his eyes to Keet and what he saw was Keet's unusually soft eyes looking back at him.
Raven didn't find anything amiss at their merely five seconds of exchange but to HaeSung it didn't go unnoticed. His only thought was- Why did they seem close?
"Are you two familiar?" He questioned frowning.
"Yes. Actually.....
"No. We aren't...
Keet replied with a positive attitude while MinJun denied without further ado.The two conflicting answers were said at exact same time deepening his doubts even further.
" I mean. Haven't we been in same class for two years." Keet calmly reasoned himself out.
HaeSung still felt that there was something more about it but decided not to dwell at the time and shifted his attention toward MinJun who seem sweating nervous.
"What do you want?"
HaeSung impatiently asked without a hint of emotion in his words.
MinJun looked at HaeSung and requested him to follow maintaining a handful distance from the two other men.
When he felt that the place where they stood was at a safe distance and no one else can hear them, MinJun mentioned his words with a caution-
" I think we should move in together."
"Okay."
The affirmative reply from HaeSung left MinJun shockly surprised. Was that it? He agreed. But it seemed he has rejoiced quite early. The next words from HaeSung poured a bucket of ice-cold water over his excitement.
"Let me be clear. It was you who forced me. Thus the expenses will also be taken care by you. All of it. I won't provide a penny."
And, if he hadn't spoken to his heart content HaeSung continued to say-
" I will be here in the morning. From the following day I shall be in your care."
Don't mistake it!
It was clearly a sarcastic remark.
Leaving behind a dumbfounded MinJun, HaeSung returned to his two peers who were already seated inside the car. He opened the front door and calmly boarded in. The car drove away. The figure reflected in the car's rear-view became smaller and smaller until it was disappeared as a whole.
"Hey. HaeSung what did that leech discussed with you." Raven asked unable masking his hate filled tone.
His question was ignored instead HaeSung turned towards Keet who was busy playing games. He wore a conflicted gaze.
"Hey. Keet, is there something you might say to me."
He himself do not know why was he feeling a little unease in his heart. Earlier when Keet and MinJun met their eyes he was careful of Keet whose eyes were leaking gentleness which made him feel sour as if.....as if.....Ugh. How should he describe? Like some bitterness.
"Nothing."
Keet didn't lift his head up as he replied.
The answer he got didn't manage to soothe his uneasiness. Feeling doubtful HaeSung turned his head forward. In order to calm down his nerves he decided to put on the white ear buds then drown himself listening to his playlist.
The reason why HaeSung was at unease, the explanation couldn't be more simpler. It was a habitual reaction engraved deep into his soul. Can also be briefed as an instinct! As he had said, he might not have memories relating to his childhood but his heart and soul could never forget the feeling that had been repeated numerous times in those old days. A feeling where a person feel sacred and insecured, what if his beloved, one day gets snatched by someone else. What if one day he would lose that person forever?
Although right now he was unaware behind it's meaning, his soul more or less identifies the type of emotion he felt during those days when he used to stay beside his one and only beloved friend full of goofy smiles and faith that he could trust himself to other person without thinking twice.
