Garry was a curator in the local museum for the last seven years. He was a tall middle aged guy, with a rather unwelcoming expression, plastered onto his face, but even so, he managed to reach the place he is now.

He didn't have a wife nor girlfriend, nor did he expect to ensnare someone with his increasing baldness, extensive fat and lack of any fashion sense.

Day by day, he would walk through those halls, Introducing history to all those illiterate people who were completely ignorant to the actual history of the items on display, or caring for the antiques.

People could say that his life wasn't that bad. He had a stable, fairly easy job. He wasn't handsome but he wasn't yet ugly...But he was miserable.

'This life is so stupid, the routine is killing me! I want some pus*y!' He thought annoyed, while watching the visitors for anyone he could rub to later.

Yep he was a per- unsatisfied person...

After a while of looking around he sighed and walked to his other everyday activity.

He approached the antiquity section of the museum. It came to be, some 50 years ago when an old man with a great collection of antiques from different cultures, disappeared without a trace and his collecting got auctioned out.

He liked to come here to relax, but a few months ago, he spotted a peculiar thing.

When people walked by one of the cases, they would become confused...

He didn't bat an eye over it at that time.

But then the same thing happened a few more times. Some people would look around in confusion, other would suddenly turn around, and when someone looked into the case, there was a chance that they would just stare into it with a blank expression for far too long for it to be normal.

There wasn't even any text in that case. Just a very old silver circular amulet with a ruby embedded into the center and an array of spike-like protrusion around the circle. He could remember cleaning and conserving it a few times.

Other than it being a really beautiful piece of art, there wasn't anything special about it, other than a bunch of unreadable markings, supposedly originating from Ancient Greece...Well alright, it was quiet the piece of art for that period, but nothing explained the weird confusion people had around it.

He decided to experiment.

He would spend a few days keeping the Amulet in the storage, and a few keeping it outside in different parts of the museum.

It took only a few days for him to confirm the weird effect of the amulet.

As he came to retrieve the amulet to bring it back to it's proper place, he grabbed it with too much haste and pricked his finger on a spike at the edge of the amulet.

"Ahh!" He exclaimed.

The blood fell onto the ruby but Garry missed the flash of light that appeared inside of it.

------------

"Right! My magic!" Konrad finally concluded. He realized that he needed to examine the changes. His Mana almost tripled from the last time he meditated. Well... it wasn't exactly a meditation, but how else would you call someone strongly focusing on the mana inside of him, while sitting in a comfy position, other than meditation.

He felt the now much stronger energy coursing through his body, slowly regenerating from the experiment with Orichalcum. Slowly, was a relative term though, since the speed was much greater than it was before. Just like he concluded in the past, the regeneration speed rises together with the capacity.

Thanks to the months of training, he could easily move the magic around. He made it focus in the different parts of his body, pushed it around, made it form into shapes, and finally smiled in approval. He could easily control it! With a slight focus Konrad imagined the light formation and forced the mana to do its thing. Soon enough a sphere of light danced above his palm. Until now he could only keep the ball up for around thirty seconds if he exhausted his full Mana. but now with his Mana reaching around 20 points this time should increase by a lot!

Konrad kept the ball in front of him, a timer already activated on his phone, and kept observing how the magic fluctuated and transformed into the desired effect.

He didn't need to think about the magic formation when the 'spell' already started. The continuous flow would keep the magic going until he severed the supply or the spell ended.

The sphere shined in front of him, keeping the room alight, while Konrad kept his eyes closed feeling the magic in his body slowly being used up. Finally after about three minutes, his Mana became completely exhausted, and the light ball dissipated.

'Huh...three minutes.. 20 points of Mana and around five points to activate the magic...Math! that would be...around one point of magic for ten second of keeping the light ball active!' Konrad concluded contentedly.

After a few other tests, and after checking out the steel gauntlets prize. Konrad layed on his bed with a sigh.

"That was a very productive...day? Days? I guess it's days... After all i did spend a lot of time there, even if it was in a time dilation..." He muttered.

His mind went to the steel gauntlets that he 'unwrapped' a while ago. They were pretty cool, and certainly strong. Not really heavy but strong enough to protect him.

The gauntlets wrapped nicely around his hands and reached further to protect his wrists and forearms, while not interfering with his movements.

He was really surprised with how comfortable they were, while still being made from metal but it was a given since it was a reward from the lottery, He thought.

"Right..now i can go to sleep..." He thought and his eyes slowly closed.

Suddenly though, his eyes shot open again!

"Observe! I almost forgot!" He exclaimed while sitting back up.

With a now almost instinctual movement the prize orb appeared in his hand, and after a quick glance at the orb and with a huge grin on his face, Konrad shoved it into his forehead, already expecting how to use it.

Of course The ball transformed into a silver light that entered his forehead.

At first nothing happened and Konrad thought that he finally avoided another skull splitting headache but that was not to be of course...

As soon as the pain hit, Konrad passed out with a silent shout...

---------

He woke up the next morning With an expected headache and muttered grumpily.

"I'm starting to think that this pain is a deliberate feature..."
