Danger in the Forest. part 1

It was around a month later but still five months until he finished school, and Konrad was getting worried. Everything was going so smoothly for him. Too smoothly...
Konrad was practically expecting something to suddenly happen when he least expected it and that was a contradiction in and on itself.
Octavia enjoyed teasing him for that, until finally telling him that he didn't have to worry.
They weren't in any kind of fantasy novel after all.
That statement eased his worry a little but he still felt uneasy. As if his instinct was telling him that something was about to go down.
His worry was rewarded though, when he was enjoying floating meditation in the middle of a snowy forest.
It was Saturday, so Konrad decided to make up the lost hours of his Mana training. After his Mana finally broke through the 1000 mark it became harder and harder for him to train in public places. When until now, Konrad could simply expel all his Mana wherever he was, now it became increasingly harder to do, because his Mana regenerated with the crazy speed of 100 points of Mana per minute, and the expelled Mana was practically visible or at least perceptible by other people...
That's why Konrad had to move his Mana training into a more secluded environment. Spending a few hours in a forest training when he wasn't doing research, managed to somehow stabilize his regular schedule. He of course had to make a teleportation Formation, to quickly move between his training spot and the place he came from. Making a mixed formations of transport and concealment, was becoming more and more natural for him...
Currently Konrad was levitating a meter aboveground in the Lotus Position, Trying to imitate those cultivators from chinese/Korean novels...Alright, let's not lie here. You would do that too if you were in his situation and could fly. Who wouldn't!
Konrad was Continously expelling his Mana out of his body until it reached zero, and then waited ten minutes for his Mana to regenerate. He was of course Continously trying to feel his energy while the flight Spell was active to train his senses.
There was a slight problem though.
Even though he was getting better at control over his Mana, it was still taking him more and more time to expell everything...He needed to find a way to very quickly use up his Mana because His capacity training might soon enough become impossible...Well...That would basically mean that his Mana is practically inexhaustible for him but...he still wanted more! He didn't want to stop at that, because one day he might create a spell that takes more magic than he had available! He wanted to continue his training so such a situation could never happen...
As he was waiting for his Mana to recover, there was a sudden sound of twigs being broken, as if something big was walking through the frozen bushes.
He turned around and landed on the ground, removing the flight Spell and calling out his sword from the inventory, before hiding it behind his back.
There was a chance that it was just an animal or a random human but he didn't believe that to be the case.
There were formations to hide his presence and discourage anyone, human or animal, from approaching the area.
But the most important thing..His senses were telling him about danger!
Just then the bushes shook causing the snow to fell from their branches. In the snowy smokescreen a dark shape flashed. It was fast!
Konrad knew that it couldn't have been a human, so without further reservation, he cast a wind spell that pushed away the snow that obstructed his view.
In the clear light of the sun, Konrad saw the creature standing before him.
It was similar to a cat but it was the size of a horse, It's body was made from an unrecognizable blackish substance that constantly expelled black, almost purplish smoke. The eyes of the creater could only be described as red glowing orbs that looked at him with something like hunger mixed with hatred.
But that wasn't what shocked Konrad the most. It was the fact that this creature reminded him of something that he met before...
The Shark! It was the same as that black shark thing, that attacked him when he found the Stele Of Tiresias!
He had no time to contemplate that point further, because the monster decided to just straight up attack him, when it's cover was blown.
It rushed at Konrad with speed that easily surpassed the Shark's, before lunging at him with its jaw opened wide. Rows of sharp, glass-like, black teeth adorned the interior of its mouth.
Konrad jumped to the side while skilfully slashing at The creature just like he did with the shark but to no avail. The Monster avoided the attack by turning in the air as if it was a real cat.
Someone might ask, why didn't Konrad use light magic from the get go, if he knew that it worked on the shark? Well...The answer to that question could be answered when someone looked at Konrad's face.
After few days of worrying, the reason for his worry finally appeared. He should have bad or scared...but somehow he wasn't. Why? This is what he was training for...And he was excited!
That was why, instead of a focused and worried expression, Konrad's face adorned a grin full of excitement.
"Well color me surprised! Turns out that I'm a battle junkie! Who could have known!" He said to himself, before rushing at the Monster.
