I've chosen no other than Goldenrod city. It is a sprawling metropolis located in western Johto. It is the largest city in the region, and one of the largest cities in the Pokémon world. Goldenrod is the center of the region's economy and telecommunications. Major attractions for Trainers include the Goldenrod Radio Tower, the city's Department Store, Game Corner, Name Rater, Magnet Train, Global Terminal.
This will be the perfect city for me to spend my suspension, and perhaps spend some time with my Pokemons as well. Luckily for Xeryll, she was not suspended, however, because of her actions, her salary has been decreased for the month. Upon dropping me to the city through her helicopter, she told me that she'll be returning to pick me up during the arrival of dusk.
It is also said that numerous competitions are held in this place such as the bug-catching competition, and the annual racing cup leagues. I have no interest in them or whatsoever so exploring the city is what I'll be doing today.
For now, I won't be shopping or buying anything since that seems unnecessary at the moment. I've got to save my salary for the future. For more than an hour, I walk through the city until I stop due to getting fed up with it. Sometimes, I'd watch the large screens hanging above buildings or visit different competition sites and watch trainers and people compete.
Although, doing this repeatedly seems to be leading me into a lackluster path. There is also temptation, urging me to buy from the nearby food stalls and department stores. There was also a part of me telling me to compete in the various tournaments held by the city's mayor today, but yes... I was shy.
However, through my walk in the various streets, I met different kinds of people and Pokemons. Some were trainers, gossiping about "She whose name must not be spoken of." According to them, she has knocked out more than a thousand trainers who've dared to challenge her gym. She may have an adorable face but never underestimate her skills, especially her Miltank.
Anyhow, I'm not a trainer, so I'll definitely not going to challenge "She whose name must not be spoken of" Come to think of it, her name is really frightening and I'd rather not tell, you know who I'm talking about.
Even after all these lackluster shenanigans, I forced myself to circle the city one last time, wherein this time, I came across two trainers who seem to be talking about something which is mind-boggling. I gossip, pretending to act like a normal civilian behind the bus stop.
"Have you heard about the rare Pokemon in the Cave of Gold?" A trainer whispers to his friend, however, it was still loud, even giving me the opportunity to hear them talking to each other.
"What rare Pokemon? I've never heard of such a thing before." His friend doubts.
"Oh come on, the dragon Pokemon? Remember its Pokedex entry? Imagine evolving it into a Dragonite? This will help us defeat "She whose name must not be spoken of."
"Oh, Dratini? Eh, I don't want an overpowered Pokemon in my team. The more powerful the Pokemon, the harder to train." His friend declines.
"You probably have a point. I'd rather catch a Scyther instead. Who knows what other dangers lurk within the Cave of Gold?" The trainer concurs with a bit of disappointment.
This is truly a melody to my ears. Imagine, imagine having a Dragonite with Team Rocket. We'll be unstoppable, and perhaps this will pay for my rogue doings and actions yesterday. Enough with the sight-seeing, it is time to head away from the city for a little while.
[Cave of Gold, first discovered in 1999. It is home to a bounty of Pokemons, and according to some travelers, rare Pokemons live by the area. It is also said that numerous earthquakes happen within the cave, making this a dangerous cave to explore alone.] The Rotom-Phone informs, alerting and warning me. I am scared to do this alone, especially with Xavier, but I've done this before... I think.
From Goldenrod, I head North East and followed what is stated in the Rotom-Maps. In front of the cave, I halt, being intimidated by its frightening appeal. The entrance, darker than darkness it is, and the sounds of high-pitched Pokemon cries could be heard.
The entrance is quite humongous, the largest I've seen. Above are stalactites, and below are stalagmites, making the cave look like a giant worm with thorny teeth which is about to gobble me a whole. I choke my saliva heavily, making a steady and subtle approach to its depths.
I cling tightly to my Pokeballs, ready to throw them out if needed. I then remembered something which I forgot to do. I have spare Pokeballs for catching but I should've bought Great Balls in order to catch the rare Pokemon with ease. Then, yet again, I'm new to this salary thing so I'm frightened to waste it.
"You've got this Luna. It's just a Dragon Pokemon, that's all you're going to find. No cave can stop you. What could go wrong anyway?" I encourage myself sarcastically with eyes fully peeled, ears listening cautiously, and nose sniffing the surroundings.
