Black Coffee

Yang Li didn't notice Xie Feihao's black circles until he took the glasses off to rub his eyes. Yang Li thought he should've noticed it sooner when Xie Feihao's behavior became strange.

"He looks horrible." Li Honglie leans down on the couch, "I just went to check on him, he's asleep."

Yang Li felt a huge relief, "That's good-"

A loud ringtone came from Xie Feihao's room, then followed by the sound of something heavy fell on the floor.

Yang Li quickly got up from the couch and hurried upstairs, he forcefully opened the door and finds Xie Feihao sitting on the floor with the phone in his hands.

"Hello?" He asks while getting up from the ground, then grabs the laptop and lift the lid, "I'll check it real quick-" Then he noticed Yang Li at the door, "I'll check it tomorrow." Xie Feihao quickly hangs up the phone.

"Don't make that face like you're going to kill someone, I'll sleep." Xie Feihao backed off.

"Li Feifei is so adorable today!" Zhang Yie mumbles to himself while staring from afar, "The pink dress definitely suits her."

"Are you a stalker?" I whispered from behind as he suddenly jumps.

"WH-what are you doing scaring people like that!?" Says the creep.

"You're in my seat, get out you disgusting insect." I shooed him away, he isn't even in the right classroom. Zhang Yie turned and left while cursing me behind my back.

I check my ringing phone, "White rabbit," I answered.

"Don't call me a rabbit!"

"What's up, Chen Bai." I notice Zhang Yie suddenly pauses his steps.

"Don't 'what's up' me! You didn't check the document yesterday!" Chen Bai yells from the other side of the phone.

"Yeah yeah, I'll check it today." I hanged up and pulled my laptop out, sit down to open the document from the email Chen Bai sent me yesterday.

I would love to finish this so I can get everything over with, but two eyes are staring behind my back and it's annoying me for a while now.

"Can you get out of my seat?" Yang Li asked Zhang Yie.

Zhang Yie quickly left after Yang Li told him to, but he's acting kind of weird.

"What's up with him?" Yang Li asks me.

"He starts to stare at me after I mention Chen Bai, is there something about the document?" I asked myself.

I scrolled back to the top and read the title that I've skipped. It was a request for a correlation from Zhang Yie's father's company.

"Oh. That's why." Yang Li read the title too.

I quickly scrolled to the bottom, they request a meeting today right after school.

"This is going to get annoying." I slap myself on the forehead. If Zhang Yie were to tell everyone about me being an heir of some crazy super-company, there's going to be a chance where Zhen Liyue won't even let the information about me not having any blood relationship with Xie Lijiu get leaked.

"Should I threaten him?"

"Are you the villain of the story?" Yang Li asked.

An idea popped up in my head.

"Can you not smile like that?" Yang Li backed off, avoiding me.

"Who said I can't be the bad guy?" I asked.

"You're the worst." Yang Li mumbles, he's used to this anyways.

"Do I have to wear this?" I asked Chen Bai, who 'strongly suggested' me to wear a suit.

"Stop complaining." Chen Bai sighs, "Even if you're a brat, you're still becoming a CEO."

Did he just call me a brat? "I have a box of matches and a handful of cat posters, I wonder which one will win." I threatened him.

"I mean young master."

I waited for a few seconds before my next complaint, "This coffee is too dark and bitter." I'm a bit bored from waiting in this large office, I'll annoy him for a bit.

"It's called black coffee for a reason, I prefer a cup from across the street."

"I'll increase your workload so you have less time to spend in that cat cafe."

He clutches his fist, then forces himself to smile, "I'll go buy it."

Chen Bai went out, I gave him a wave and a friendly smile, he slams the door quickly and starts to curse me.

I'm left in this empty room; it isn't exactly empty. It's filled with decorations like paintings, flower vases, and calligraphies. There are two couches facing each other with a coffee table in between, one wall made out entirely glass while on the other side are doors to a private bathroom and a bedroom, a shelve full of documents, and two computers on the desk that I'm behind.

I look through the drawers to find anything interesting. The ones on the left to all seem to be files. I pull the top drawer on my right, and the first thing I see is another pistol.

Congradulations, mood ruined.

Then the telephone on the desk rang. I press the button, "Yes?" I asked.

"Sir? There's a person called 'Yang Li,' he said he's your friend." It was just a call from the receptionist.

"Bring that idiot in." I replied.

"B-but he has already ran inside." As she stammered, the doors swung open quickly and crushed into the wall.

"I'm here to see you!" Yang Li shouted brightly while there are security guards chasing after him.

"You guys can leave." I waved to shoo them off. The guards bowed with a panic and quickly closed the doors.

Yang Li quickly rushed over to the other side of the desk, "Aren't you happy to see me?" He asks.

"You're just here to get work so you can 'earn' a lot of money right?" I quote-on-quoted, "Sure, I got a job for you."

"What is it?" Yang Li asked with out hesitation.

"Go into 'that' room, stay in there in silence for the next three hours." I point at the bedroom.

"But-"

"There's a TV, game consoles, a shelve full of novels, comics, movies, video games... whatever it is, it's in there." I interrupted before he complains that 'it's no fun.'

"I mean I don't have any objections!" He quickly rushed in and closed the door behind him.

Just before the angry rabbit rushed in with a cup of coffee and a box of donuts.
