In a modern day aged story, about a young girls family whose empire was toppled. She is determined to get revenge on the people who tore her family apart. Along the way she meets a young boy who is just as aloof as she is, but makes the ultimate promise to her in helping get revenge for her family. However, she doesn't know what to think when the promise he makes requires her to promise herself to only him.

My Chance: A Revenge and Love Story

"Don't be so mean xiao Laura, Feng Feng can sit with us" Grace nudged and winked at me.


"Really?! Thank you so much sister Grace!" Feng jumped in the air spilling half of his plate.


"Grace, I don't want to commit treason upon your own kingdom by murdering you!" I hissed through gritted teeth.


"Don't worry! It's just harmless flirting, you need to have some fun too Laura" Grace linked arms with me while we headed to our usual spots in the dining hall with Feng trailing right behind us sputtering complete nonsense.


'Tsk, he is so annoying. I don't know what Grace is thinking. I don't even like him like that!' 


Sitting through lunch, I ignored most of what Grace and Feng talked about and concentrated on my tablet. I wanted to complete most of my assignments so I could have free time to go to the library to do research.


"Right Laura! Wouldn't that be fun?!" Grace and Feng turned to look at me.


"What? Sorry I wasn't paying attention."


"Jeez Laura! We were talking about the school Ball that is coming up, aren't you excited for it?" Grace was so excited she was basically bouncing up and down on her seat.


"Um dance? I don't know, I have never been to one" I shrugged my shoulders and went back to doing my homework.


"WHAT?!" Both Feng and Grace yelled causing me to jump and everyone else in the dining hall to stare at us.


"How have you never been to a Ball or even a dance?!" Grace grabbed me and stared into my eyes with her tear filled ones like she was about to cry.


"Silly! What are you crying for?!" She is so emotional and so passionate. 


"I am just sad that you haven't gotten to experience that" She mumbled.


"Grace, chill. Remember what I told you about my childhood?"


"It's fine, really." I smile at her and pat her head.


"You have to go to this Ball then!" Graces, very determinedly said it and it gave me Deja Vu of a very caring mother making sure her child will get anything that they desire.


"You can go with me!" Feng announced with stars in his eyes when he looked at me.


The ringing of the bell to indicate lunch is over cuts through and saves my very life. I didn't know I could ever praise the sound of the bell so highly.


"I gotta hurry and get to my next class! See you guys later!" I was already out of my seat and out the door with both Grace and Feng yelling behind me.
