Six days under - Part 1

***

Day 1

This is my first day on the cell. I stay in a large cell, with no windows, no food, and only one bed made by wheat and bags with some dirty clothes. At least the guards were thinking about how are we all going to sleep, but, because there is only one lamp, who is always turned off, on a place where I cannot say if there are more than two or three cells.

On the minus seven floor I am all by myself. Garnet, Ulfred and Taka, as I heard they are all on the first floors. Lucky for them. Here I cannot determine if today is day or night.

I could've used my wand to create light, helping me to see the surrounding, but because I do not have my wand, and I cannot master the light spell, I will have to remain on this cell in darkness, wondering when is Fiona and the gang going to come to rescue us from here.

I tried to go to sleep one time, hoping this sleep will help pass the time, but it didn't helped me much because of the matters who are smelling disgusting, and they are so rotten, they could be broken at any movement. I only sat on that bed, because of no choice, I looked at the ceiling and I wondered how much longer it will be when the rescue will take us out from this place and brings us outside where we will do another missions and get money. I only hope Taka and Ulfred aren't going to reveal the identity of all four of us to the guards, or the trouble will be awaiting us, from the Leader of the Guild and King himself.

Day 2

The next day it has passed.

A guard came today, to bring me the meal for the day. The guard light the whole room, and this helped me to see the surrounding and see who are the prisoners next to me. This didn't helped me much because I see there is only one inmate there, and that inmate it is a kid, probably at my age, staying still on the prison as the guard was giving the meal to him. The guard didn't say anything, he gave us the meal, close the light from the lamp he powered on and left us there. Both of in the dark, enjoying our meal.

I was able to see the meal when the lamp was on. The meal consisted only of a hard bread, probably made one or two days ago, probably much longer because we are living in an ordinary prison (and no prison from the capital), together with a cup of water to hydrate me, and one piece of meat, probably from a sheep or pig, hard to tell the difference by the taste and in the dark because of the Wakaliam sauce (which is a sauce combined with sheep and pig blood, put with paprika, garlic and tomatoes).

"Hey!" I heard someone telling loud and clear. "Are you a new inmate here?"

"Who are you?" I asked after a few seconds I was trying to see if the inmate there was actually started to talk with me, or it was the hallucination. "Are you the inmate from the other cell?"

"Yes, I am." says the inmate to me. "I am here for a lot of things. Why are you here for?"

"I... I have killed people." I say the sentence feeling disturbed because to this day, I cannot get over the fact that I am capable at my age to kill people in battlefields and killed those seven assassins easily (it was mostly the work of my teammates, but it was also my assist who helped them in most cases). "Who are you? What is your name?"

"My name is Greuceanu. Nice to meet you, new prisoner."

"Name is Judah."

"Aha... Say, Judah. You sound like a kid, right? Are you by any chance a kid?"

"Yes. I am."

"What is your age? Ten? Twelve? Nine?"

"Eleven." I say to the inmate.

"We are at the same age, and you managed to kill people. What are you? A noble assassin who only works for the money or a son of a bitch who does this for fun?"

"Neither. I am a squire for a knight."

"Squire?... Must be nice to have a roof under your head and get money by doing some small tasks, right?"

"Not exactly. The tasks squires do it is extremely hard and tiring if you think about it."

"Such as?"

"Well. My first mission as a squire was to hunt... a pack of infected wolves. We had to kill them in order to stop them from infecting the citizens and other people from the kingdom. My knight and I managed to kill all of them and get some money from the task."

And so, we talked about us for a while, making jokes and talking about the outside world, until we both got to bed, at the same time. this Greuceanu guy seems a guy who did bad things. He probably had a reason why he is in here.

Day 3

On the next day, the guard came as usual, it brought us lunch, and he goes back to the upper floors. As I eat the same type of lunch I was given yesterday, I and Greuceanu continued to talk about some things, helping to make the time pass by. As we talked about the Kingdom, Greuceanu asked me this question.

"Do you have a family?"

"Family..." I say looking at the food sad, and sighs. "My parents got killed by cannibal tries in my old house, who has now become the house of other person. I escaped from their hand, but I got saved by my relatives who sent me to the Orphanage because of the wars the Kingdom had it at that time. They considered it will be much more safe staying there, rather in one of their house. And it was a good decision."

"Have you met your relatives?"

"At the war. The country fought Turkish Empire, who has now become a new kingdom, more united and with no corruption as people from there said. I was not there, because I was sent with my knight, and my relatives to do protect the borders, go to Moldavia, and go back to protecting the borders."

"Must've been hard."

"It was. And I am glad I am out of that."

"Would you go back there?"

"No. But, when a King orders you to do it, you have to obey the order, otherwise, you will be punished by being a traitor."

"I see."

After that, we did not talk, we enjoyed our meal and the time in the dark we had.
