Joy slowly woke up as the vibrant rays of the sun touched her face. She rubbed her eyes as she slowly sat on her pink bed and then looked at the alarm clock on the table beside it as she blinked her sleepy eyes and yawned. It was 6:45 am- 5 minutes before it was supposed to ring. She opened the curtain on her window which she have forgotten to close last night [that is why the rays of the sun woke her up- her eyes are sensitive to light] and looked above. Remembering what Light said yesterday, she looked at their frontyard to see if he was really there but to her surprise, [he wasn't].
"Maybe he wasn't serious." she said with a lingering sadness which she continuously ignored and tightly held the necklace she wore [which she adored greatly] and started to turn off the alarm and went showering.
Moments later, she started to go down on their wooden stairs where she saw her grandmother preparing breakfast in their kitchen. Seeing her painted a sad smile on her face while she went down and she immediately hugged her tight. One thing that Joy can easily remember are people's smells and her grandmother's smell is something she can never forget for the rest of her life. Probably sensing sadness in her granddaughter's aura, Josephine stuffed Joy's mouth with sandwich.
"It's too early to be sad, don't you think, my beloved?" she said, half whispering, half comforting Joy who tightened her hug. "Eat up now~" her grandmother said.
"Thank you Nana..." she said and proceeded to eat the chicken hotdogs that her grandma prepared.
"Imma sweep on the frontyard." she said to Joy who was taken aback upon hearing the word [frontyard].
"Nana, it's too early yet and the neighbors might wake up. And your broom is no longer usable, right? I will buy you another one later. I promise... Just rest for today... Okay?" Joy said, trying to stop her grandmother from sweeping the yard because of the possiblity of seeing Light [if he'll come].
" Fine~ I guess I'll just sleep again" Josephine said and started to go to her room. Upon hearing the sound of the closing door, she finished her food quickly and went to her room. She picked up her black bag and put on her black uniform- then searched for the scarf her grandmother knitted for her and put it on.
Before leaving, she looked at her window and saw something in her peripheral vision in the window of the house next to her.

It was a tall man with a shiny silver hair, pointed nose and golden eyes- his skin was pale and clear. [He was so good-looking- Joy thought]
"Ohayo, Hope." he said and flashed a forced smile that seemed cold that Joy felt her soul leaving her body.
"If you are going to greet me that, at least show a real smile, okay? What are you doing there?" Joy asked the man.
"It'll be such a drag to talk to you from here. Just- go down." he just said and left.
"That Light!" Joy screamed to release the irritation she felt due to Light's coldness and started to walk towards their frontyard.
As she went out of their door, she saw Light's back leaning onto the side of their gate and thought that [this already happened before].
She walked towards him and she saw many other students walking while glancing at Light who is currently wearing their school uniform.
"W-w- why are you wearing that?!" she screamed as she approached him. Light grinned wide.
"Simple, I transfered at you school." he said and winked at her.
