Chapter 6: The Transfer Student

"Hi everyone, I am Light Elkin. Please be good to me." He said coolly but completely ignoring the attention he was getting. The people all stared at him, and for a moment there was confusion, and then the next was completely uncalled for- shouting by girls. The teacher screamed to silence them but the students completely ignored it. The teacher knowing that most of the students were grade conscious, he yelled, "Minus 5 for all of you on the first quiz!" then everyone went silent as the teacher grinned widely. The teacher refocused ro Light, who was standing beside him, completely looking so cold especially with his unusual eyes~

"Where would you want to sit? We only have 2 seats left at the back." their teacher said, gesturing at Joy's column. Light started to look around and noticed the empty seats waiting to be seated upon while Joy looked at him because he seemed to be looking at the seat next to Fallon Bane, the top 2 and the associate editor [sports writer] for the school paper this year. Fallon and Joy haven't talked to each other for as long as they could both hardly remember due to the competition they have. However, the fact that Light's and Fallon's gazes were fixated at each other was enough to make Joy feel a sense of insecurity while Fallon blushed.

Without averting his eyes off with Fallon, Light spoke.

"I'd like to sit beside Hope sir, if I may," he told the teacher who approved of it in an instant to stop the commotion going around the room. Light finally averted his gaze from Fallon who was completely looking down, and walked straight beside Joy, whom he called Hope.

"Joy, why?" Mari faced her and asked, almost crying while Nick, Light's other seatmate smirked wickedly.

"You should've at least told me that you know each other! Here I am looking so confident that I, the great person Mari, first knew him, but he went calling you Hope, your first name." Mari added, making Nick grin wider.

Light sat at his chair and placed everything in his desk as the teacher spoke nonsense. Nick [top 3] was looking at him with serious eyes, which Light ignored because his focus was on the lesson. Joy didn't care to mind them as she thought that it was completely rubbish.

After the 2-hour lesson, it was announced that their Science teacher was absent and couldn't make it to class granting the students an early lunch break. Light was looking at his necklace intently, looking so worried, as if his cold aura has been washed away by something so hideous. Joy looked at him and wondered why, and how can there be a very eerie human being.

Strange.

Joy was about to talk to him but Nick placed his arms on Light's shoulder, friendlier than Joy have imagined because of the dangerous jealousy he saw at Nick's face a while ago.

"You play Soccer Bro? Cammy and I are going to practice. Do you want to go try-out?" he asked. Light turned to face him with an expression of [I don't care] painted on his face- but he forced a smile instead, because he doesn't want to offend a friendly person.

"Actually, I don't know any sport, and Hope and I have something important to do." he said and held Joy's hands, ran fast outside, until they can no longer be seen.
