As the big church like doors swing open, Raymond's heart sinks deep into his chest. He knows by now word has spread and he's no longer living in the shadows. Every person he passes looks right at him where as before, they would look right through him. Raymond makes his way to Ms. Perkins class early but as he opens the door to classroom 134, he's alone. Ms. Perkins who's usually in her room setting up for class is no where to be found. Panic sets in, the pure uncertainty of what happened drives Raymond to turn abruptly and head for the school exit. He has one goal in mind, find Mike.
As he rushes through the halls pushing past the other kids, all he can think about is what happened. Anxiety, fear and uncertainty flood his brain. "I need to find Mike before class starts and ask him if he know anything, what the fuck happened?" he thinks to himself. Slipping through the front door right before it closes, the door catches his bookbag sticking him in place like a paratrooper stuck in a tree. Before he can turn and open the door one of the 12th grade football players busts out laughing. Now all eyes are on Raymond as he pushes the door open and scurries away like a scared rat towards the smokers pit. Hoping Mike will be there, to his dismay, Mike is no where to be found either.
In a smite of anger Raymond throws his bookbag as far as he can. "Why can't this just be easy?" he repeatedly asks himself as he slowly walks to pick up the bag he just carelessly tossed. As he bends forward to pick it up none other than Mike rolls up on his skateboard. "You good dude? I just saw you throw that thing like you were a woman's shotput olympian. Yes, I am saying you throw like a girl". "Do you know anything else about yesterday?" Raymond asks in a panic. "You need to chill, want a cigarette? They always help me calm down" says Mike as he reaches for the pack of next gold in his pocket. "No I don't need a cigarette, I want to know what the fuck happened to me yesterday. I don't remember anything and everyone is looking at me like I killed someone" "Oh dam, you really don't remember eh? Ok, let's walk, I'll fill you in on what I heard but do know, you probably don't want to hear this"
