A New Law

Continuation of Milo's POV:

"I'm so sorry about tonight," Lyle whispered. "It's my duty though.... I couldn't just ignore this." I smiled and looked at him.

"It's fine. He'll be rescued and put somewhere better. If my fifth death day had to be stuck in a council room, at least it's for this," I purred to him and gave him a sweet look. "You owe me a fun day soon though."

"Of course I do. We'll go out on a romantic night, promise." He kissed my cheek before looking at the corpse. "We'll feed that to the pack," he muttered. "We can't let the servants see this." I nodded and looked towards the corpse then up at Lyle.

"Okay," I mumbled and then kissed his lips softly. "Thank you for saving me," I purred sweetly at him, tugging lightly on his flannel as I moved closer to him. He gave me a purr, leaning in towards my ear.

"Want to be a maker?" He asked.

"A maker?" I asked softly then blushed.

"Yeah," he looked me in the eyes.

"For him?" I asked him and then glanced towards the fledgling.

"Why not?" Lyle asked. I looked the fledgling over and then rubbed my lips as the thought of my fangs being yanked out didn't sound like a fun idea. I mean... if I make him my fledgling, I'll be responsible for him... completely. If he drains people in the alleys, my fangs will be ripped out.... I might not be able to reverse that bad habit, and he might try drinking from me too much.... I shrunk against Lyle as I watched the poor pitiful fledgling then reached out and gently touched his cheek.

"Do you think I could raise him enough to where my fangs won't get ripped out?" I asked Lyle softly.

"I could always ask Everest." I nodded and looked towards Lyle.

"I'll think about it," I told him and gave him a sweet smile. "Maybe I could talk to him first before the council meeting? I'd like to get to know him a little first instead of jumping into saying yes... but if you think Everest would make a better maker, I'm sure she'd say yes."

"I think you could do it," he purred to me before taking pictures of the vampire with his phone. "You can talk with him before the council meeting. We'll wake him up and give him some blood." I nodded and gave him a smile.

"Thanks Lyle," I kissed him then and looked over at the fledgling, pulling my hand back from him and then gave Lyle another kiss. I mean... after all, our romantic evening is postponed. I can kiss him all I want. He'll tell me to stop anyways because of the meeting. I purred sweetly to him and hid my face in his neck, smelling him. He held me in his arms. I could hear the fledgling's neck snap back together. I flinched at the nose and then looked towards the fledgling. "Is he going to wake?" I asked him, shrinking against him. Not in the car.... please not in the car....

"He's not going to wake up that fast," he assured me. "Look at his condition. If he was that fast of a healer than the blood would be healing the wounds he just drunk. He's not had a decent meal... I don't know for how long. I've never seen this." I bit my bottom lip and then nodded, giving him a pitiful look before I gently kissed under Lyle's chin.

"We'll need to give him a lot of blood when we get home," I murmured to him and gave him another kiss there. He kissed the top of my head.

"I know," he whispered. "I know." I nodded and then looked up into his eyes.

"If I do take him... you'll help me, right?" I asked him softly as I kissed his lips.

"Of course I will," he purred. He kissed me back sweetly. I wrapped my arms around his neck and purred to him as I kissed him, deepening it slightly. He's so sweet to me~ He trailed kisses to my neck before rubbing my cheek. I blushed and accidentally let a moan slip then looked at him.

"I'm sorry your plans got ruined sweetie," I mumbled to him.

"As long as you're not too upset," he sighed out.

"I'm a little disappointed," I admitted and looked him in the eyes. "But I'm glad we're able to help him," I purred softly and gave him another kiss. He nodded and rubbed my lips with his fingers. I blushed and then gently kissed his fingers, purring at him as I looked at his fingers. I felt my fangs expose as he rubbed my lips and I pricked his fingers after kissing them, dripping a little bit of my venom into them teasingly. He tsked.

"You're going to wake him up earlier than we want," he warned me. I blushed and then looked at him before I gently kissed his fingers again and unexposed my fangs.

"I'll clean the blood so he can't smell it," I mumbled to him and licked his fingers, starting to clean them off. He smirked and pulled his finger back. I frowned and looked towards him. "What?"

"Nothing," he whispered. I smiled at him and then leaned in, giving him a sweet kiss.

"Okay," I purred at him and then started to trail kisses along his neck. I think I'll tease him by calling him my hero later... for saving me from the fledgling.

"He can change the mood around him," Lyle muttered. I paused and looked at him.

"Change the mood?" I asked Lyle and then bit my bottom lip. "Do you think he made me feel pity for him so he could grab me easier?"

"Yes," he whispered. "Pity and sorrow. He was casting it to both of us so we wouldn't rip him from his meal." I shivered at the thought of what he could've done to us... the idea of him trying to devour me but making Lyle stand still in pity for the fledgling chilling me to my very soul. I held onto Lyle tightly and buried my face into his chest, starting to tremble again as I could hear the girl's screams as she tried to get away but we didn't even help her. "I let him kill her Milo. He needed the blood and the horror she just went through.... There's no way she could have came back from it..... That human.... I'm not ashamed of me letting him kill her. She's gone now, she served a greater cause."

"I-I know," I mumbled and held onto him. "I just... well... if he had gotten me... he might've been able to make you stay if he tried hard enough," I whispered, my voice barely coming out. I felt him tense up.

"No," Lyle told me. "He's not that strong. I love you and I will protect you." I tightened my grip on him and then looked up at him before I hid my face into his neck, wrapping my arms around him quickly. After a few minutes the door opened for us from the servants. Lyle got out quickly and shut the door, urging them inside quickly and instructing them not to look out the windows. When they were gone he reached inside and grabbed the corpse. "I'll be right back," he told me as he started for the woods. I widened my eyes and watched him leave me then looked towards the fledgling in the back with me and then towards the castle. I bit my bottom lip and then looked at the fledgling again, wondering if he would try to attack me once he got enough blood... probably not, right? Maybe it was just starvation.... I moved a little closer to him hesitantly and then gently touched his cheek before I looked at the sun burns on him and bit my bottom lip, wincing at the sight. The flesh wounds on him were deep and pussy looking- infected. I caught a faint scent of dirt on him, looking closer he had earth on him. There was something disgustingly wrong about his appearance, a foul color that only a corpse should have was staining his skin. I wrinkled my nose a little and then looked at him.

"Poor guy," I mumbled and rubbed his cheek then looked towards the woods for Lyle. I started to gently pick him up and got out of the car, holding him to me as I did my best not to smell him, not wanting to find he smelled like rotting flesh or something. Lyle's form was by the edge of the woods, coming back to me. I looked towards him eagerly, wanting to run over to him but I stayed put, holding onto the fledgling tightly instead as I shifted my weight back and forth on my feet while I stared Lyle's form down. He managed to reach me and took the fledgling out of my arms.

"There we go," he whispered and carried him off to the front doors. I followed after him quickly, grabbing onto his arm and held onto him as we went inside. I looked around and then at the fledgling before I bit my bottom lip and stole him back so Lyle could go find the blood for him. The maids had been waiting calmly with blood as instructed. "Let's take him to a bathtub, bring the blood," Lyle instructed. He held his phone out to a servant. "Record this," he told a butler. I frowned slightly and held him close as I started to carry him towards the nearest bathroom and took him in. I turned on the water to it and then plugged the drain up before I began to undress him, taking care not to further injure him. At least all the dirt is going to come off.... Lyle stopped the water quickly and had it drained before motioning for me to place the fledgling in the tub. "Milo, we're giving him a blood bath." I frowned.

"But he's got dirt all over him...." I told him and then looked the fledgling over before I sighed. "Would sitting in blood really help him? I thought only drinking it worked."

"No, it'll help him. Place him in, blood next. He's in a further worse state than us. Blood bathing will help the wounds on him." Lyle motioned for the servants to start filling the tub. They begun to work fast, realizing what Lyle wanted. I put the fledgling in then and ran my fingers through his hair before I pulled away and went over to the sink, washing my hands clean.

"I guess this is one way," I whispered, glancing over my shoulder to watch.

"We'll run a cold shower over him afterwards." He snapped his head to a servant. "Go get some clothes for the male in the tub."

"It's a corpse," I heard the maids saying quietly outside the bathroom. "Why're they giving a corpse a blood bath?"

"He's not a corpse," I told the maids, walking over to them after I dried my hands. I gave them a kind smile. "He's another fledgling," I explained. They gave us confused looks then.

"Who on earth would let their fledgling end up in that condition?" A butler asked. "No way it was a royal. Royals have more respect for their fledglings."

"Can you smell the maker on him?" A maid asked. "What if he comes looking-"

"I don't think we'll have to worry about that," Lyle told them. "Now hush and please fill the tub. I'm going to discuss what to do about the maker with the council soon enough." They all nodded, concern on their faces.

"How high do you want the blood?" A butler asked.

"Try to cover his body." I looked towards the fledgling and then sat down by the tub, gently rubbing his cheek with the back of my hand as I looked towards him. They worked hard, filling the tub up to cover him. Lyle sat down next to me, looking at the blood.

A minute ticked by before the blood shifted and the fledgling sat up slowly, the blood dripping off his face. I looked towards him with wide eyes and pulled my hand back from him, holding Lyle's hand instead as I watched the fledgling. "H-hey," I whispered towards him and gave him a nervous smile. "How are you feeling? Want some fresh blood to drink? We could get you some," I offered him then looked towards one of the servants. "Do we still have some blood left in the bottles for him to drink?"

"Of course," a butler spoke up and sat a bottle down next to us. He obviously wanted to keep his distance. Lyle picked it up and took a swig from it before giving it to the fledgling.

"Drink that," Lyle said kindly. The fledgling looked us over before his eyes scanned straight over us and towards the servants. He exposed his fangs then. I suddenly felt my will disappearing as I felt the need to feed him. His eyes locked on to me. Lyle growled and pointed a finger at the fledgling. He hissed sternly at him.

"They're not your food. You'll treat them as equals and you'll drink this for now on," Lyle shoved the bottle into his eye sight. The fledgling looked at the bottle then before smirked and taking it. He poured the bottle into the tub with him before he stood up. Lyle got to his feet quickly. "You just wasted another bottle, I hope you're happy." He cut the cold water on and the fledgling hissed, throwing his body up against the wall, trying to get out of the path of the water. Lyle grabbed the hose of the shower head, taking it down and started to spray the vampire clean, showing off his newly formed ghostly pale skin. The vampire turned his back on us, holding his head. Lyle rinsed him down before cutting off the water and took a waiting towel. He wrapped it around the fledgling and gently guided him out of the tub. He dried the fledgling off before using the clothes the servants brought to dress the newbie. He blew dry his hair as well. The whole time the fledgling was looking around in utter confusion. "There," Lyle whispered when he had finished. The servants had brought the fledgling some comfortable looking pants, a shirt, and slides. His hair was an ash brown, sticking up from the drier. His eyes on other hand were a milky white. "Here, drink this..." Lyle bit down into his wrist and gave him it. The fledgling looked the skin over before biting down deep and moaned. He clung to the life source quickly, sucking as hard as he could from Lyle. Meanwhile, my maker leaned into his skin to smell him, probably wondering about who he came from. I could see the servants urging to know.

Lyle looked towards the servant holding his phone that had been recording this. "No scent of maker," he confirmed. "I'd say... two years old. His fangs are still intact. Healing process has completed. No detection of vampire weapon injuries...." He looked the fledgling over. "Ability to control a crowd's feelings. I'd say..... Seventeen years of age appearance...." He yanked his wrist back and tapped the vampire fledgling on the nose to stop him from attacking to get back to his wound. "No sense of awareness- What's your name?" He asked. The fledgling stared at Lyle's finger in anger.

"I don't remember," the boy said softly.

"So you do talk?" Lyle asked. "That's good. Good. Your memories might come back within time, depending on how long you was out there without a maker."

"I don't understand," he whispered and started to cry. I suddenly felt sorrow rush through me. Lyle rubbed the boy's cheek then.

"It's okay. You don't have to understand right now." Lyle told him. "Do you remember anything?" Lyle asked him softly. He nodded quickly. "Start from the beginning." Lyle helped him up onto the counter to sit there.

"It was cold...." The fledgling said softly. "I was walking home.... I think I was going home.... Yeah.... with friends..... I don't know their names but I know their faces.... We had all went to the movies late- past our curfews..... We had school in the morning.... It was Sunday...." He started to cry a little. "I lost them."

"Lost?" Lyle asked.

"Somehow.... they went missing one by one...."

"Please do go on."

"I don't remember.... I just woke up.... I was so sore...." He rubbed his neck then. "I felt so starved. I was laying in a pile of dead corpses..... My friends.... The bodies- my friends were amongst the bodies. It was a small dark alleyway but the sun was up...." He started to cry heavily. "When I went to leave the alley to get help...." He shook his head. "It hurt so much!" He started to tremble and rubbed his arms. "It burns, it burns!" I heard the servants all gasping at the story. Lyle reached out and held the fledgling's face.

"It's okay. You're safe." Lyle soothed him. "What happened next?" The fledgling shook his head.

"I slipped back into the darkness. It was all so blinding.... I was scared.... there was a pile of ashes right at the bodies and I thought I'd burn and become ashes too..... Why was there ashes?" He asked to himself. The fledgling continued his story though. "I found refuge in the dumpster nearby when the sun passed over the alley. Rats squeaked at me and flashed their red eyes.... They threatened to attack me but kept their distance.... People came and took the bodies away while I slept... I don't remember again....."

"Is there more you do remember?" Lyle asked.

"N-No.... It's all fuzzy." Lyle looked at me then, a grieved look appeared on his face. He looked at the servants.

"Are the council here yet?" He asked.

"Still on their way, Master Lyle." One told him. Lyle had a clinched jaw, like he was becoming boiled with rage. I frowned and then rubbed Lyle's arm softly before I kissed his cheek then looked towards the fledgling. Poor guy.... I can't imagine being turned and then left to burn in a pile of dead bodies.... He's been alone for so long too.... No wonder why he was hunting and manipulating emotions to get food. He had to, and it was all he knew to do to survive. I took the fledgling's hand and gave it a squeeze, trying to give him a kind smile with the knowledge of what happened making me want to cry with him.

"Hey, how would you like to pick your name?" I asked him softly, not wanting to keep thinking of him as 'the fledgling'. I mean... he's an actual person. He deserves a name, not something so impersonal. "You could pick any name you want," I suggested and looked up into his eyes, rubbing his knuckles comfortingly. "You're safe here... and I'd love to be able to call you by a name."

"A name?" He asked softly. "I don't know what I would pick..." He trailed off. I smiled and then looked him over.

"Well... you can think on it for a bit," I told him softly, "and if you remember what your old name was, we can always go back to using it.... Do you know any names?" He looked towards his feet then.

"Jack," he mumbled. "I remember Jack." I purred and then rubbed his cheek.

"Jack? Would you like to be called by that?" I smiled and then glanced over at Lyle curiously to see if he was okay before I returned my attention to the boy in front of me. Lyle was still fuming, looking away. He looked at the servants.

"Leave us," he told them. They all left as ordered and left Lyle his phone.

"I- I guess I wouldn't mind being called Jack," the boy told me. I bit my bottom lip as I watched Lyle and then looked towards the boy.

"Okay Jack," I whispered and then gave him a small smile. "We'll call you Jack unless you find another name you want to be called by, but Jack is just fine," I purred, rubbing his cheek. At least he seems to have gotten better... and he doesn't seem quite as starved- not at the point of attacking. He looked towards my wrist curiously before exposing his fangs.

"Jack, you've had enough." Lyle warned. "I don't need you puking in front of the council." I took my hand back from him and smiled nervously.

"Sorry Jack, we'll find you another bottled blood later tonight when you've had time to let what you've had settle," I purred to him.

"Come on, we need to go to the dining room and be there waiting for them." Lyle reached out and got Jack down from the counter. I nodded and then grabbed Lyle's other hand, purring to him softly as I started to lead them out of the room.

"So I think I will become his maker," I whispered to Lyle softly, giving him a smile. "He isn't bad. I'd love to help him somehow."

"That's good, we'll tell the council." Lyle kissed the top of my head. I kissed his cheek then and purred before I looked towards Jack.

"You're okay with that, right?" I purred at him, giving him a sweet smile. "Becoming my very first fledgling?"

"I don't understand what that means," Jack whispered to me.

"It's okay Jack. We'll explain in good time." I looked towards Lyle as he said that and then nodded before I looked towards Jack.

"I'll tell you tomorrow night... when I'm no longer a fledgling and I can take responsibility for you," I promised him and gave Lyle's hand a slight squeeze.

"Tomorrow night?" Jack asked.

"Yeah, you'll be sleeping in a nice soft bed tonight." Lyle gave him a smile. "No more dumpsters."

"Uh huh, and if you need anything, you can tell me and Lyle," I purred to him and gave him a sweet smile. "I'll do my best to help you."

"You're safe now," Lyle whispered to him. "We'll never let anything bad harm you." I looked towards Jack and then smiled softly as I got quiet and led them into the dining room.

"Lyle," I purred as we walked in. "Thanks for letting me do this for him." I looked up at him and stole a kiss before I giggled and snatched Jack's hand, tugging him over to the table and sat him down at it. "So Jack, for your first night as my fledgling tomorrow, I think we should do something cool like take you shopping for your own clothes~ You'd like that, wouldn't you? To be able to pick out your clothes yourself?" He nodded towards me quickly.

"There wouldn't be anything open Milo. We'll have to do online shopping and make a list for the servants." Lyle told me and sat down at the table. I frowned.

"Really? Not even really early in the night?" I asked him and looked towards him. "I guess.... We could shop online then. It opens up more options for him! What if he likes anime? That'd be fun to get... anime shirts. Wait... he probably doesn't know what anime is. We should introduce him into anime and all the good movies and books."

"We'll get him cute outfits and suits..." Lyle muttered. I tilted my head and looked towards him.

"Are you worried about the council or are you just wanting to find his old maker and rip his fangs out?" I asked him softly and reached for his hand.

"I'm mad because I can see myself in him," he whispered to me. "I was helpless once.... but then I was saved from the grip of the resistance and cradle robbers.... But him.... He spent two years like this...." He shook his head in anger. I frowned and then started to caress his hand to comfort him.

"He's safe now though. He won't be helpless anymore," I mumbled to him. "All we can do for him is try to help him. He's rescued... and he'll be happy just like you are, even if it takes awhile for him to cope. This family is pretty large too, so he won't ever be short on friends to be with him."

"I know, it just pisses me off that there are vampires out there stuck in his situation." Lyle glared across the table. "I've got to do something about it." I nodded and then leaned in and kissed his cheek.

"We'll do something about it together," I promised him and then moved into his lap, wrapping my arms around him. I moved my face into the crook of his neck and purred to him softly. "For all the little Lyles out there.... I don't want anyone to go through what you two did.... I can barely imagine what it must've been like...." Being stuck helpless somewhere, fearing the sun that could kill you in the most painful way ever.... I'm really lucky I never had to fear being burned too much. I've never really been stuck outside in the sun... or somewhere that there wouldn't be a place for me to hide from it. I've been well cared for and looked after. Lyle watched as the doors open and one by one the council was lead inside. I looked towards the council and then kissed Lyle's neck as I tugged lightly on his hair. "I love you," I whispered to him. He smiled softly.

"I love you too.." He whispered. The servants set up a TV in the room and Lyle connected his phone to it. "I'd like to introduce to you Jack," Lyle said as he pointed to him. "I found him in an alley draining a human. He's a two year old fledgling, when I caught his scent he wasn't-" Lyle sighed "He didn't have a maker. Most likely his maker died." He started to show them picture he took of Jack in the limo before switching over to the recorded video of the bathroom. When it finished he looked towards the council. "Now I don't know about you, but I'm disturbed deeply. We shouldn't have vampires like Jack wondering the street. I want to make a new law. For now on, if you stumble across a fledgling like Jack, you have to help him. For now on if you have enough money you are to help the less fortunate that you come across. Buy them a bottle of blood, take them under your wing, and make sure we sweep the world of vampire like Jack. If we keep letting vampires like Jack live without help then we might become exposed in the next few years. If we become exposed of existing then we all know what might happen. I don't want to ever come across someone like Jack again." Lyle stood up and leaned over the table, looking at the council. "These laws need to be put into action immediately." I heard the others starting to argue with each other about the case before they came on to agreement with Lyle.

"Alright, all favor in passing this law?" One of them asked. "Any objections? All right Lyle, you have your law. What will we do about Jack?"

"Milo is turning five tonight. He's offered to take Jack under his wing and I'll be supervising." The others nodded. I gave them a small smile before I looked towards Jack with a purr.

"I'll make him my fledgling tomorrow night," I told the council softly and then reached out, giving Jack's hand a squeeze. He'll probably enjoy it... being able to drink my blood. I leaned my head against Lyle's shoulder and nuzzled my cheek against it before I kissed his neck.

"Well, looks like we're coming to a close. Is this all you wanted to bring up to us Lyle?" A council member asked.

"That's all." Lyle gave them all a smile. "Thank you for your time." They all started to stand up and go on about their night, giving me a happy death day wish. Jack leaned in and exposed his fangs as he smelled me. "Jack," Lyle said sternly. "Milo is not food." Jack groaned and looked away, leaning back in his chair. I looked towards Jack then at Lyle.

"I don't mind as long as he doesn't take too much from me right now," I whispered to him and then looked towards Jack. "You promise?"

"He just ate earlier," Lyle reminded me. "He'll get a stomach ache or worse." I frowned and then looked Jack over before I nodded and relaxed against Lyle.

"Okay, he can't have a taste of me then," I mumbled.

"Let's get him in bed," Lyle whispered to me. "We'll get him curled up and resting so he doesn't want to wonder the halls looking for something to eat." I nodded then got up from Lyle's lap and gave Jack a smile, grabbing his hand and pulling him to his feet.

"Come on Jack~ We'll get you a room near mine," I told him and laughed. He gave me a sweet smile before nodding. Lyle rubbed his head before slinging an arm around his neck and started to guide him into the hall with me.

"Tomorrow night you'll start your training, learning what you are and everything else with it." Lyle looked towards me. "He's going to be your maker tomorrow and you'll have to follow his orders."

"It won't be too awful much," I told Jack and smiled. "I just want you to start telling me things like when you're hungry and what you're feeling and if you have any kinds of thoughts about others. I want to be able to help you as best as I can, so you're going to have to be as open as possible to me." Jack groaned but nodded.

"Okay," he whispered. Lyle escorted us to a room next to his and opened the door, looking around.

"I suppose this could do," he muttered. "We'll get it straightened up tomorrow night. Rest well." Lyle gave him a push inside. Jack glanced around before he walked up to the bed and ran his fingers across the covers. I smiled and watched him with a small purr. That's going to be my fledgling tomorrow.... My very first.

"We're right next door if you need something," I told him and then smiled. "I'll see you tomorrow night." I grabbed Lyle's hand and then tugged him away from the door, shutting it behind us then laughed and ran off to our room, going in and then stretched. I think I'll wear some black silk pajamas. I went into the closet and stripped, getting my pajamas then walked out to the bed and laid down in it. I could hear Lyle taking a shower. I glanced towards the bathroom door and purred softly before I sat up then reached for the phone on the nightstand, calling up the maids to get us two bottled bloods. I think for my death day... I'll have a little bit more right before I go to sleep. One last bottle with Lyle as his fledgling won't hurt anything. I hung up and then curled up on the bed, looking around the room before I smiled and ran my fingers through my hair, playing with it.

A maid walked in after a few minutes and gave me a smile as she sat the bottles down onto the nightstand. "There you go Master Milo. The servants and I hope that you had an excellent death day. If there is anything more I can do for you, let me know," she told me and gave a kind smile before she went into the closet and retrieved my clothes I had changed out of and left. I purred softly and sat up against the headboard, grabbing the bottles of blood and the champagne glasses she had brought up with them and started to pour them into our glasses. I tossed the bottles off the bed when I finished and held the glasses, looking towards the liquid and then smiled happily. I hope he doesn't fuss at me for getting him bottled blood. I heard him in the closet, probably getting dressed before he stepped out in his boxers and a t-shirt. He looked me over as he walked up and laid down in bed. I smiled towards him and leaned over, kissing his cheek.

"Here you go~" I placed the glass in his hands before I took a sip of mine. "I thought it'd be nice to have one last bottled blood with you as your fledgling...." He looked me over and purred before sitting up against the headboard and downed the blood.

"You'll wake up tomorrow a changed vampire," he told me. I nodded and took another sip.

"Uh huh, that's why I went ahead and ordered it for us before you could come in and pass out on me," I purred to him. "I want to be able to cherish tonight even if it didn't go according to plan. It's my fifth death day after all...." He gave me a small purr before he sat the glass down on the nightstand and laid down completely.

"I think I did an excellent job," he mumbled. I laughed and then finished mine off before I leaned over him and sat it down next to his glass.

"Yeah, I think you did do a good job," I purred to him then laid down beside him. "I'm even going to have my own fledgling starting tomorrow...." I looked at him then smiled softly before I rubbed his cheek.

"Only for three years. Plus you'll have my help." He looked me over before shutting his eyes. "I was going to make tonight so special for you," he muttered.

"It's okay," I told him and placed a small kiss on his lips. "We saved someone. I think that counts for much more. We can go out later and do what you had planned for us today. It just won't be my fifth death day is all."

"Yeah," he muttered. "I'll save it for another time." He grabbed a lock full of my hair and had me lay down on his chest. "Maybe on your tenth." I laughed and then gave him another kiss.

"My tenth sounds nice~" I purred at him and then wrapped my arms around him. "Are you tired?" I asked softly.

"I think it's about time to get some sleep," he told me. I nodded and then gave him another kiss.

"Okay," I mumbled. "I'll see you when I wake tomorrow night." I smiled and laid my head on his chest over his crystal. He won't be responsible for me anymore though... and it'll feel different with him.... This is my last night feeling him as my maker. After that... I'm not sure exactly what will happen.... I rubbed his arm softly and bit my bottom lip slightly, feeling a little nervous to go to sleep just to wake up to him not being my maker anymore. I'd let him sleep though. He deserves it.
