The Revelation

Chapter 11

SKYLAR LEWIS MARSHAL

The hour has finally arrived to take my 'new found' friends for a ride that afternoon but then, they won't even get near my car.

"Come on," I gestured them to hop on.

I was already on the driver's seat.

Todd honk his horn bidding his goodbye as he has his car and we waved our hands in response.

Turning back my attention to my friends, I was glad when Jhen excitedly get inside by the passenger's seat.

"I'm taking this seat," she stuck her tongue out to Lisa and Jake.

I'm liking Jhen's personality; straight forward.

Then I noticed Jake's fidgeting, hesitating to ask something.

"What is it Jake?" I asked.

"Well, can I take a picture with your car?" He shyly asked.

I laughed then I got out from my seat, "You are being silly."

"You can even drive , " then I gestured him to sit on the driver's seat.

Then his reaction was really funny as he declined; vigorously shaking his head in refusal.

"Just a picture and no driving," he insisted.

"I can't afford to even make a scratch, goodness," he added.

I laughed and nodded.

When he comfortably sat on the driver's seat and Lisa was ready to take the shot, Jake turned to Jhen at his side.

"Get out," he grumpily commanded.

"Why?" Jhen complained.

"Isn't it better that you have a cute girl in tow with this fancy car?"

Jake glared at Jhen, "I prefer a man Jhen, a man so get out," he shoved the girl.

Both me and Lisa laughed while Jhen murmured as she got out of the car.

After a couple of shots and some groupie, and a little bit more of convincing, all of us settled down, me driving, then we drove off.

"So how was it?" I asked after some time of driving along the road without any destination in mind.

"Isn't it just the same as other cars?"

"It's still a car," I continued.

I caught the rolling of Jhen's eyes.

"Don't ask," she said.

"You will never understand the feeling."

Both Lisa and Jake at the back smiled and nodded in agreement.

So I just chuckled.

"So where are we going now?" I asked.

Jake clapped once like he just remembered something.

"Let's head to the Central Gymnasium," he looked down on his wrist watch.

"There's a basketball league and we still have time to catch up."

My brows raised, asking the two ladies if it's a good idea and to my surprise, Jhen giggled.

Both Jake and her conversed excitedly about some hunk of the town participating in the league. They were so immersed in their little world that I caught Lisa rolled her eyes.

'hahaha'

"So is there somehow a cheering squad performing?" I asked.

"No," both answered in unison while Lisa just shook her head lightly.

I clicked my tongue which earned curiosity from Jhen.

"Don't you like to watch a basketball league?" she asked.

"I do watch NBA but I 'prefer' to watch the cheer team," I turned to her and gave a meaningful smile.

"… or the women's volleyball team with their skimpy shorts."

"If… If you get the gist," I added.

'hahaha'

I will never forget how Jhen's eyes gradually went round along with her mouth as she stared at me.

Then Jake leaned forward, gasping, his hands both on each side of the leather seat.

"You… are… gay?" He asked in disbelief.

I smiled widely and nodded.

He slumped his back on the seat, "Oh my…"

I took a glance at Lisa by the mirror and our eyes met.

She smiled, "Guess, we'll offer a candle lighting to commemorate the broken—"

I raised my brows at her.

She snorted, "We'll be treading on broken pieces of hearts in the school grounds once this news reached everyone."

"… especially the boys," she added.

I just shook my head sideways as I smiled at her remark.

At the span of the entire ride, I was being observant to my companions— if anything has changed after telling them about me being 'gay'.

And I was more than happy that nothing seemed has changed. Guess, people in this town are more accepting than I thought they would be.

'Surprise me more Verona'

'hehehe'
