Everyone stayed silent after Monokuma left until the uptight black-haired said:
"So... how would you define what we just experienced?"
"Define it? I don't understand any of it..." said Leon
"S-Spend our lives here? Or k-kill? W-What is this!?" exclaimed the glasses girl
"Calm down, everyone. First, let's summarize what we have been told. According to that Monokuma, we have two options. We can live our lives here, at this school, or... " stated the lavender haired girl
"We can kill someone and be allowed to leave, right?" Celestia completed the sentence
"But... to kill is..." said the short light brown-haired girl
"We were abducted into this school-like facility and now we've been told that we must kill one another... this is... what is this!!??" the overweighted teen screamed in fear
"This is a lie! This is far too ridiculous to be anything other than a lie!" exclaimed the uptight black-haired
"It doesn't matter if it's a lie or not. What matters is whether someone here took it seriously" said Byakuya
Not a single person had a rebuttal to his comment. Everyone started glancing at one another, attempting to gauge one another's reaction. Until...
"I don't see any reason why someone would kill anyone..." said Jason
"Oh? And why do you think that? As far as we know, someone here might plan to kill someone right now" said Byakuya, narrowing his eyes at Jason
"It's simple. No one has a real reason to kill. Yes, if you want to leave, you need to kill someone else, but the chances that someone will kill because of it, is very low. People won't kill just because they were told to. If the situation were different, for example, if we had no food, then maybe someone would've tried to kill, out of hunger. However, we were told that all common conveniences would be delivered, so if the bear speaking the truth, we don't have to worry about food. I have it hard to believe that someone would kill for the sole purpose of getting out" Jason explained
"So, what are you going to do now?" asked the lavender haired girl
"Well, first, I'll explore this place, to see exactly what we were given to live with. I'll try and find exactly where we are, and if there is a way out. The results of my exploration will decide my future actions" Jason stated
" He's right! There are times where we must push forward, no matter how frightening or uncomfortable the situation is. How could I forget something so fundamental!?" exclaimed the uptight black-haired
"Shouldn't we check the rules in the e-handbooks first?" asked the short light brown-haired girl
"I agree. We wouldn't want our ignorance to cause another of Monokuma's... punishments" said Celestia
"Then, let's check out these stupid rules already" said (fake) Junko, and with no one having any objections, everyone opened up their e-handbooks and review the rules. Jason opened up his e-handbook, and firstly was greeted by his name on the screen, before the main menu appeared. In the main menu were options of:
Profile
School Regulations
Map
Camera
Notes
Jason decided that he'll check out the other options later, and pressed on school regulations, and the list of the rules appeared:
Rule No. 1: Students are to live their lives together within the school.
Rule No. 2: 10 PM to 7 AM is considered as "nighttime". There will be a few areas that will be off-limits during this time, so please be cautious.
Rule No. 3: Sleeping is only allowed in the dormitory. Deliberate use of any other room for sleeping purposes will be seen as sleeping in class and punished accordingly.
Rule No. 4: With minimal restrictions, you are free to explore Hope's Peak Academy at your discretion.
Rule No. 5: Violence against the headmaster Monokuma is strictly prohibited, as is the destruction of the surveillance cameras and monitors.
Rule No. 6: Anyone who kills a fellow student will be allowed to graduate, unless they are discovered.
Rule No. 7: Additional rules may be added if deemed necessary.
After he finished reading the rules, three rules caught his attention.
'Rule No. 6 confirms my theory, that you can't simply kill someone and leave. It seems that you have to perform the perfect murder if you want to leave the school, which I believe is impossible for amateur killers.
In other words, I don't believe that any of the students can ACTUALLY leave the school, as they won't be able to murder without being discovered for doing so.
Rule No. 4 is also interesting. It gives you an illusion that you can explore the school as you wish, but in truth, those "minimal restrictions" are there to prevent you from finding out something the bear doesn't want you to find out.
In other words, we can explore the things the bear wants us to explore, so I can't expect to find an actual clue unless the bear wants me too, which means that any clue that I find is either useless or just there to distract my attention from real clues.
Lastly, Rule No. 7 is saying that the bear can add any rule he wants, and we have to follow it, or else we'll be punished, AKA killed. This rule is troublesome. I have to watch what I say and do in front of the cameras, or else, he can simply forbid it. I just hope that I can find a place without a camera, or find a way to jam the cameras, that won't be counted as harming it, and if won't find, it would be very troublesome' Jason thought
"The hell is this bullshit!? I'm not gonna listen to some stupid rules!" said Mondo in defiance
"By all means, go right ahead. Why don't you wander around the school recklessly? I'm curious to see what will happen to someone willing to break the rules" said Celeste with a small smile
"B-But, if he'll do that, Mr. Owada would get a game over for sure!" said the overweighted teen
"When I was still a kid, my big bro would always tell me about how a man keeps his promises, even if it kills him..." said Mondo
"...So what?" asked (fake) Junko in contempt
"I've made a lot of promises that I need to keep, that's what!!! So I can't afford to die in here!!"
"I could hardly make any sense of that, but can I presume that you will be following the rules?" asked Celestia
"Yeah... I guess so." Mondo answered
"Guys, I have a question. It's about Rule No. 6. What do you think it means?" asked Sayaka
"It means exactly what it says. It says that if you want to graduate, you need to kill someone without anyone finding out it was you. If you people can't comprehend that much, I have no reason to stay with the likes of you" said Byakuya mockingly, and turned to leave.
"I'm sorry, I'm just..." said Sayaka dejectedly
"Hold on! If you think I'm going to let you just say whatever you want, you're in for a beating, fucker!" said Mondo threateningly, and stood in front of Byakuya, blocking his way
"Out of my way, plankton!" said Byakuya in anger and narrowed his eyes at Mondo
"The hell did you called me!?" asked Mondo threateningly
"You're just a single plankton, drifting through the vast ocean, whose meaning and purpose have no value whatsoever"
"I'm going to kick your ass!!!" shouted Mondo in anger
"Stop it! We shouldn't fight!" shouted the short brown-haired boy
"Shut it, shorty! Are you some kind of sanctimonious little bitch??? Who do you think you are, talking to me like that?"
"N-No, I wasn't-"
"Fuck you!!!" shouted Mondo and moved to punch the short brown-haired boy, but then Jason, who no one noticed that he even stood up from where he sat, moved his leg in front of Mondo, successfully making him trip and fall. The rest were shocked at the development, and then Mondo stood up and faced Jason, but then the last student who Jason recognized, Sakura Ogami, the Ultimate Martial Artist, stood in front of him and said:
"Enough. Any more, and I'll have to use force to stop you" she said. She had long white hair, reddened-dark skin, very pale blue eyes, and a scar on her face and right shoulder. She had a massive figure, full of muscles. She wore a Japanese school uniform comprising of a white shirt a blue sailor collar, a short blue skirt, and a red tie. The sleeves on the uniform were torn off, to make room for her muscular arms. She also wore bandages that were wrapped around her calves and forearms.
"Tch" was Mondo's response, but he did back down. Not even Mondo wanted to fight with the Ultimate Martial Artist.
"Thank you!" the short brown-haired boy thanked Jason
"There's no need to, as I didn't do it to help you. I just wanted to see to which lengths his anger will make him go. It seems that he has a very short temper, but he could still control it when he had to face Ogami, which indicates that he still has some kind of control over his temper, although a very small one" Jason said and then turned to Mondo and said:
"Let someone with 217 IQ give you an advice. If you won't learn to control your temper better, you'll end up doing something you'll regret" he said, and then turned to leave while saying:
"I need to explore this place, and I need to do it alone, so don't follow me..." Jason said, and left.
