Dark Mage (Part 1)

After hearing the request made , the soldier in command had reached out to the President. Though the secret service had no clue what Amaya's intentions were, they found it to be too big of a risk to let her meet with the President in person. But, they agreed to let the meeting happen in another form of communication.

(Location: Unknown)

Amaya sat in the interrogation room of a military base, where she was speaking to a giant screen, showing President Rudd of the United States.

"So, you're telling me that this world and some alternate world are connected?" He asked.

"Yes, and because of that, monsters will start to exist in this world as well."

If it was before a dragon destroyed half of a city, Amaya's words would have made her appear to be someone who had serious mental issues.

But, since a monster had caused the deaths of thousands already, it would be crazy to not believe Amaya's words.

"And you said the other world already agreed to send people to help?"

"Yes. A couple people front that world are keeping watch for any signs of monsters as we speak." Amaya replied.

"I see. But I have to ask, what do they gain from it?"

"They gain my help in clearing the highest-ranked dungeons in their world. So, I won't be here to help with fighting off monsters that will appear."

"That's a shame. From the reports on you, I learned about your unimaginable strength and speed."

It was a loss to not have Amaya in the world to help against the monster that would soon start appearing but she reassured him of the other's strength.

"They might not be as powerful as me but they are reliable. Also, there will be lots of them, so they'll be able to help out in lots of city's at once."

Katsu stood on the roof of a small shop, in one of the few areas that buildings were still intact. He was calm, keeping watch for monsters as the smooth wind would make his hair sway.

'If that dragon hadn't made its appearance to destroy the city, I would've thought that this world was safe from monsters for the time being. Amaya is playing it cool but, I know how much she regrets not showing up sooner."

After all, Katsu knew the feeling of failing to save lives.

A sudden movement caught his eye. Off in the not so far distance was a small group of Blood Wolves. They weren't all that strong on their own but, with a group, they were hard monsters to keep up with.

'Some monsters actually made an appearance. I guess I should deal with them.'

With a graceful leap Katsu jumped from the roof then landed with almost no sound, stopping the wolves in their tracks.

His hand gripped the handle to his sword as the monster began to show their teeth and aggressively growl.

"Speed Boost."

swoosh .

Slash.

His arm drew his sword and his body dashed through the crowd.

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 simple slashes cut through each wolf's neck and sent their heads flying into the air. With a simple swing at the air, the blood from his blade slipped off then splattered onto the ground. The very second he stuck his sword back into his scabbard, the monster had fallen.

"That's the fastest I've ever killed this many monsters. Eight in only 3 seconds. I wonder if I could've done it i-"

Fwsh.

Thump

A mighty invisible force struck his back and knocked him against the ruble.

'What hit me?'

His arms were trembling from weakness as he lifted himself and regained his balance.

A raspy and frightintening voice spoke.

"Oh, Katsu. Who would've thought we would meet here out of all places."

The witness in Katsu's eyes was wide as he slowly turned his shoulders.

'That voice. It can't be.'

The moment he saw the strangers face, he knew exactly who it was. A person who he wished to never encounter again. A twisted and corrupted enemy from his past. A wicked man that went by the name 'Kuro'

"You…. What the hell are you doing here?" The trembling fear was visible in Katsu's voice. His chest began to feel heavier and his legs grew weak. Each of his fingers were rapidly shaking as he reached for the handle of his sword, very slowly.

When he didn't wear a hood, Kuro was a man with a face as pale as a vampire with dark rings under his eyes. His hair was messy and black. Matching the dark cloak she wore.

Noticing Katsu's face being filled with great terror, Kuro's mouth twisted into a sinister grin.

"It would seeeeem that your past experiences with me had left you traumatized. To answer your question, I am here because of orders. The rest is stuff I can't metin because it would just ruin all the fun."

"What are the dark mages planning?" Katsu asked.

Kuro brought his hand through his hair as he answered

"Oh, you know I can't tell you. Anyways, it was fun talking to you but, now you should die."

Katsu sensed the wind being shoved aside as an invisible force was launched at him. Quickly, he leaped back while the ground in front of him was smashed apart.

Smash! Crack!

A type of attack which could not be seen without a sense skill. Spirit Magic, a special and complicated kind of magic which Kuro excelled at.

"Oh… What a surprise. You actually saw that coming? You really have changed since We've last spoken. Haaahhh. This might actually be exciting."

Katsu lifted his sword and cut across the air, 3 graceful times before pointing it's tip in the direction of his enemy.

"I'm not the same anymore. Don't you dare think this will be an easy fight for you."

Overwhelming excitement filled Kuro's body and face.

"Ohhh. I am overjoyed to see what else has changed about you. Come, now. Show me what you can dooooo."

"Oh, don't worry. I will." Katsu snarled.

A single breath left his mouth as his body sprinted forward. The blade's point slid across Kuro's side, slicing it open.

Fwsh. Slash.

By the time a single drop of blood touched the ground, Katsu swung the sword once more. The sword was intended to hit Kuro's neck but only slashed his arm as he leaned to the side.

Swip. Slash.

"I missed." Katsu spoke in fresturation.

His eyes shot open. In front of him was an aggressive ripple of wind rushing at him. A massive force pounded against his chest, knocking him many feet back.

Thump.

When he finally landed, he was only holding himself up on one knee, along with his sword stabbing into the rubble. The attack wasn't enough to kill him but, his Hp did lower a lot

(Hp: 6,578/11,578)

As he stood back up, he touched the coat which he wore and thought ' This coat, reduced all magic damage I take. With-out it, that attack would've nearly knocked me out. I won't be able to take two more hits like that. I need to fight smart.'

Back during the time when Katsu had went to an academy for training, he learned a unique style sword style called 'Dance Of Death'

A style that had seven stages to it. The first stage, the user would take a deep breath and focus on calming the mind. This could increase Atk up to 300%, enhance reaction time and even reduce damage taken, all up to 5 minutes.

And so, Katsu took a deep breath and held it for two seconds, slowly releasing it on the third.

'I can do this. I just need to remember everything I've learned.'

[Atk has been increased by 45%]

[All Damage Taken Will Be Reduced By 15%]

[Speed Boost has activated]

With a leap forward, Katsu thrusted his sword forward, stabbing into Kuro's shoulder. Pulling his sword back, he thrusted again, into Kuro's stomach.

Then again, he pulled the blade back and lifted it, before swinging downwards.

Fwsh.

Kuro's head slightly tilted and the slash missed by a hair. This was the chance he would use to counter.

A ripple of wind blasted from the side, striking Katsu's rib cage and knocking him into the air. The other one pounded into his other side.

Before his body fell to the ground, another ripple boomed against his chest, slamming his body against the ground.

Blast! Bmp. Boom! Slam!

Moments of silence passed as Katsu's limp body laid still, motionless. This caused Kuro to let out a groan of disappointment.

"Don't tell me I accidentally killed you. I mean, I was going to Kill you eventually but you sparked my interest so I held back quite a bit. Also, what were you going on about before this? You said this wouldn't be an easy fight for me, right? Feels pretty easy to me. Perhaps I overestimated you-"

A strong leg kicked his side, and sent him crashing into the dusty remains of a building.

Fwsh. Bmp. Crash.

A familiar face walked into view. A black-haired man with blue eyes who wore a suit. He was none other than Atsuya who then spoke to the enemy who was slowly regaining his balance.

"You sure talk a lot, dark mage."

A bloody cough splurted from Kuro's mouth before tossing out a question replied.

"How rude of you to attack me out of nowhere, Atsuya Skyman. Why didn't you kill me with that kick? I mean, it would've been no problem for you."
