A Want to Avoid Unnesscesary Blood

Weeks passed and still no messenger had made contact with Amaya yet. She still found herself being angered every-time she was reminded about Emi's abduction. To try and cope with the anger, Amaya had cleared over 15 dungeons, all being ranked Silver and above.

Breaking her train of thought, Katsu asked a question.

"Are you sure you trust the knights that the king sent to earth by themselves? Do you think they'll have some kind of conflict with the military?"

Amaya shook her head in response, stating how she already talked it through with the president who appreciated the help.

As Amaya stood up and gazed out the window, Katsu could see that something was troubling her but he couldn't quite tell what it was.

"Anything you want to talk about?" He asked.

Amaya only replied with a question.

"What makes you ask that?"

"You don't seem like yourself these past couple of days. You seem more on-edge."

Katsu was also able to sense a dark energy flowing from Amaya's body. An energy that was stained with blood. Not from monsters but from other people. Katsu didn't feel it was wise to point any of this out, keeping his mouth shut.

Amaya continued to stare out of the window, clearly trying to avoid the question, replying with "I'm fine. There's nothing wrong."

Another thing Katsu noticed was that Emi's presence was nowhere to be seen, which was a red-flag all on its own. He knew whatever was going on was tied to that.

"I haven't seen Emi around lately. Where is she at?"

His question immediately snatched a reaction as Amaya's eyes showed that of someone who was worried.

"She's not going to be around for awhile."

What she said didn't give much detail, so it had left Katsu in confusion.

"What do you mean? Please be blunt."

"...Emi was taken away." Amaya replied.

Katsu firmly stood from his seat, nearly knocking his chair over.

"Taken away??? By who?"

Amay could barely bring herself to say, due to her already being angered by the thought. She bit her lip and just as it started to bleed, spoke.

"The dark mage organization has her."

Katsu was more shocked than he had felt in a long time. In his time in this world, there were many times he had encountered dark mages which left unforgettable impressions, and a burning hatred in his heart.

Just hearing about them made him grind his teeth.

"Dark mages, huh. What the hell are they up to?"

"I'm not sure but, from what they told me, it looks like they have an interest in me."

She went on to explain her conversation with the dark mages Emi was taken.

"I doubt they'll just give her back after you talk with them. They're known for being deceptive. They're probably just trying to lure you in and capture you for their experiments." Said Katsu.

There were many times recorded when the dark mages would go back on their words. This was one reason why the organization was so unpredictable. You'd never know when they were bluffing or telling the truth.

"So, how do you know so much about them?" Amaya asked.

"We'll just say I've ran into them a couple times in the past." He knew well how dangerous they were. I would be smart to avoid them but, ignoring the fact that they had taken Emi wasn't something that was possible.

"What do you plan to do?" Katsu asked.

Before walking out of the room, Amaya replied "Waiting for them to contact me is all I can do. Until then, I'll just wait."

It was until the door shut that Katsu pulled out a journey from his coat pocket.

"Looks like I should re-study this. I didn't think I would be continuing the path of my promise so soon. I wish there was more time to relax but, I guess now's the best time to begin where I left off."

It was something given to him by an old friend in this world. A journal detailing the most powerful dark mages and their abilities, along with any allies. It even went on to explain in detail their tactics and even some of their greatest weapons. But one thing was for-sure stated in this journal, there was no easy way to win against the dark mages as they had great numbers. Even any nation would struggle in a war against them.

'I'm sorry Amaya. When I help you, it won't be because you need help. It will be because of my own selfish reasons.'

Nightfall…..

(Entrance of the town 'Mareve')

The four guards stood around, talking up a conversation to pass the time, speaking on all the recent events. They still found it surprising that even a base got attacked.

"It does make sense why they increase the security, considering everything that's going on." said the first knight.

It was supposed to be one of the safest towns in the kingdom of Therngo.

"Honestly, I would be surprised if anyone showed up causing trouble here." the second knight replied.

It was a big town, meaning there were more knights standing by. Some even suggested for it to be considered a city.

A third knight from the back joined in on the convo.

"Right. If anyone did cause any sort of issues, they'd either have to be dumb or really powerfull."

"Most likley dumb." The first knight replied.

The knights all chuckled.

Tmp. Tmp. Tmp. Crunch. Crunch. Crunch.

They all turned toward the sound of twigs breaking beneath footsteps.

"Who's there. Reveal yourself." The first knight commanded.

A younger man stepped out from the shadows. His hair was spiked and silver-colored, his eyes were blue and he only wore normal attire such as a grey coat, boots and pants.

"Uhmm, this is the town of Marve, right? Oh no...I didn't end up at the wrong place, did I?"

He looked just like your average traveler, so the knight addressed him normally.

"Correct, this is the right town. Before you enter, we need to check you for anything dangerous. Is that okay?"

"Yeah, go for it."

After a thorough search, nothing suspicious was found and the man was let in.

When he realized that nobody seemed to be outside tonight, he turned down an alleyway, sitting down to rest his body.

A blue light flashed from his hand and a small bag apeared

'I really want to avoid spilling unnecessary blood. Hopefully getting the information is easy.'
