Meeting, Part 1

Kise Ryota was waiting at the meet spot where Aomine, Kuroko, and he would meet Satsuki. From there, Satsuki would guide them to the basketball court, which Shun had chosen for the meeting.

Kise had gotten to the meeting spot half an hour before the allotted time. Kise was so excited about today's meeting with Kageyama Shun that he was running early.

He looked at his watch and saw that only ten minutes left until the meeting time.

Kuroko: "Kise-kun, were you waiting for long."

Kise freaked out when he saw Kuroko standing right in front of him.

Kise: "Kuroko-cchi, why can't you appear like everybody else, normally."

Kuroko replied with his usual straight face.

Kuroko: "I appear normally."

Kise sighed, and then an idea popped into his mind, so he said.

Kise: "How about when you are approaching somebody, you should wave your hands frantically. That would certainly help in attracting attention to you, and that will solve the problem of scaring people."

Kuroko looked at Kise with his usual poker face, but somehow Kise was able to tell that Kuroko was looking at him like he was an idiot.

Kuroko: "Kise-kun, that would be increasingly embarrassing for me. I am not comfortable in approaching somebody like that."

Kise nodded and said.

Kise: "Okay, but you don't have to look at me like I am an idiot."

Kise and Kuroko talked for a while, well it was Kise talking and Kuroko listening.

Five minutes later, Satsuki appeared and greeted them.

Satsuki: "Hey, guys! Were you waiting for long."

Kuroko shook his head and replied.

Kuroko: "Not at all, I only got here five minutes before you."

Kise also shook his head but didn't mention that he had been here for almost a half an hour. He also changed the subject by asking.

Kise: "Momo-cchi, when will Aomine-cchi come. I want to meet Kageyama Shun as soon as possible."

Satsuki smiled at Kise, who was acting like an excited child.

Satsuki: "Aomine-kun only appears when barely on time, if not, then he will always be late. But today, I think he will be just on time."

And just like Satsuki predicted, Aomine appeared right on time.

Aomine: "Yo! I see everybody is already here. Let's not waste any more time and go meet Kageyama."

All of them were then were led by Satsuki to the meeting place. They passed through a shopping district, where they were handed a pamphlet by a boy their age for a diner in the shopping district.

They exited the shopping district and walked to the basketball court right next to the shopping district.

There they saw Shun dressed in easy to move clothes dribbling a basketball with earphones in his ears.

Shun was bobbing his head to the music. Then he looked at the rim and moved forward.

Aomine and Kise fixed their eyes on Shun to see what he was going to do.

They didn't know what to expect, but what came next was outside their expectations.

Shun got near the basket and looked like he was going to jump, but just before he jumped, he dropped the ball and then didn't jump at all, but instead started to dance on the spot.

Kise and Aomine dropped to the ground seeing Shun dancing. Kise couldn't help but ask.

Kise: "What is this person doing?! Why did he suddenly start to dance."

Aomine nodded, thinking the same thing.

Kuroko spoke and gave them the answer.

Kuroko: "It seems a song that Kageyama-kun likes came on and made him dance."

Satsuki giggled, looking at Aomine and Kise's faces. She then moved towards the dancing Shun and proceeded to pat him on his shoulder.

Shun, who was dancing to a song that he liked, saw something from the corner of his eye and reacted instantly.

What he caught was a hand, a soft hand at that. He looked up and saw a surprised Satsuki.

Shun took her hand in both of his hands, looked into her eyes, and asked her worriedly.

Shun: "Satsuki-chan, sorry about that. I just reacted when I saw something come towards me. I hope I didn't hurt you."

Satsuki was surprised when Shun grabbed her hand, but she started to blush deep red when Shun moved close to her.

Satsuki stuttered and said.

Satsuki: "I-I am fine. I was just a little surprised."

She looked at Shun's hands, which were holding her hand.

Shun followed her gaze and found that he was holding her hand without knowing it himself.

Shun also flushed lightly and let her go off her hands. He cleared his throat and apologized to Satsuki.

Shun: "Ah, sorry about that. I held your hands on an impulse."

Satsuki shook her red face and said.

Satsuki: "It's okay. It wasn't your fault."

Kise, who was looking at the scene, smiled excitedly and asked without tact.

Kise: "Aree, Momo-cchi, and Kageyama-kun like each-."

Kuroko covered Kise's mouth and stopped him from continuing.

Satsuki and Shun didn't hear what Kise each other, and Aomine just tilted his head as the blockhead he was.

Aomine: "What did you say?"

Kuroko replied in turn for Kise.

Kuroko: "It was nothing, Aomine-kun. Kise-kun was wondering if we should greet Kageyama-kun."

Kise's eyes brightened when he heard Kuroko. While Aomine grumbled, not wanting to do that.

Kise moved forward to greet Shun.

Kise: "Kageyama-kun, hello! My name is Kise Ryota. I was the one that wanted to meet you."

Shun and Satsuki were relieved that Kise had interrupted the awkward situation, but at the same time, they also didn't want that moment to end.

Shun looked at Kise and smiled.

Shun: "Ah, so you are Kise-kun. I hear you have been playing basketball for a short period, how has the experience been. Do you think you will stick to basketball?"

Others were surprised and confused when they heard Shun talking about Kise sticking to basketball.

Aomine asked what did Shun mean.

Aomine: "What do you mean by sticking to basketball?"

Shun looked at Aomine and explained.

Shun: "The thing about having a copying ability is that you learn very quickly. And there comes a time when no one around you can keep up with you, then the boredom starts.

I didn't face this problem, because I started playing really young I didn't have the body to copy what the adults did, and kids my age didn't have skills good enough for me to copy, my skills increased with my body.

And I seriously love basketball, so I never got bored with it."

Shun looked at Kise and continued.

Shun: "I think that Kise-kun kept on changing sports because he didn't get any competition after playing for a while.

Look at me, my father owns a swimming pool facility, and I am better at swimming than everybody there. I can most probably beat everybody at volleyball, baseball, and tennis at my school.

How do I know if he was playing sports before this? His body is not of a person who recently began playing sports.

To people like Kise-kun and me, the only way we get into a sport is if we really love the sport or a competition that we can't beat emerges near us.

So, am I right?"

Everybody looked at Kise, expecting an answer. He nodded and spoke after a brief pause.

Kise: "I tried many sports, but after a short while, no one was able to keep up with me. I am sure that if I stuck to a sport, then I would have found competition at the National level, but the wait was unbearable, so I would end up switching sports that I played.

If the basketball club was anything like the others, then by this time, I would have already quit basketball club if there was no challenge, but I didn't because I just can't beat a lot of people in the club.

So yes, I will be sticking to basketball."

Kise looked at Aomine, who smirked and said.

Aomine: "Of course, you can't beat me. You are really weak. We have been playing one-on-ones since you joined the first string, and you still haven't won once."

Shun looked at the smirking Aomine and said to Kise.

Shun: "Don't worry, he won't be so happy by the time we finish today."

Aomine looked at Shun and grinned challengingly.

Aomine: "We will see about that. Get ready to get your ass kicked."

Shun let out an annoying smirk and said with an equally annoying tone.

Shun: "Hoho, you sure are confident today, Dai-chan~. How about we make a bet."

Aomine's grin faltered at the mention of a bet.

Aomine: "I am not falling for it this time. I will never bet with you for my entire life."

Shun clicked his tongue.

Shun: "You have gotten smarter than the last time we met."

Shun looked at Kise and asked.

Shun: "Let's see. How about this, Kise-kun and I play first, then I will whoop Aomine's butt. How does this sound?"

Aomine barked at that.

Aomine: "It will be the other way around, and I am fine with it. The best player should play last."

Kise also nodded and agreed.

Kise: "I am fine with playing first."

Shun nodded and then spoke.

Shun: "Okay, how about an eleven point game, whoever reaches eleven first wins."

With that, Kise and Shun got ready to play.
