Absolute Obedience

When it was around five minutes before the designated time, Fei walked towards Felicia's room. After pondering for a bit, she decided to leave the mop by her own bed. On the way, servants who saw her would whisper. Some even wanted to see the interrogation for themselves and followed behind Fei.

Upon opening the door to Felicia's room using face recognition, Fei realized that the head maid's room had multiple rooms and differed greatly from the other servants' quarters. She noticed that there were extra doors on other walls and the current room seemed more of a reception room. There was only a white table and a sofa, along with some chairs. Felicia sat on the sofa, beckoning Fei to join her. A few maids stood behind her.

As Fei walked in, the door automatically shut behind her. All the servants who wanted to observe could only leave and continue to do their assignments. Besides the head maid, only the housekeeper and members of the Rochester family could enter and leave the head maid's room at will. Outside the room, there was a face recognition that only allowed in whoever the head maid wanted to allow in. There was also a traditional keyhole where the housekeeper or a Rochester family member can insert a key to enter the room pushing the door.

As Fei arrived beside Felicia and proceeded to sit down, Felicia suddenly kicked her ferociously.

However, Fei didn't even twitch at the contact. Instead, it was Felicia who flinched in pain. How is she so strong? The head maid thought in annoyance.

"(Who do you think you are? You are undeserving of this seat.)" Although she was in pain, Felicia maintained her confident and overbearing tone as she spoke.

"(Kneel.)"

Thinking back on Mrs. Mary's and Feechi's instructions, Fei didn't give any resistance, and she kneeled obediently.

"(Do you know what you did wrong?)" Felicia sneered contemptuously.

"(What did I do?)" Fei asked directly in return. "(I never stol--)"

"Not only did you try to steal from the Rochester household, you even committed an even graver crime. You disrespected a Rochester family member, your superior, Mis--"

"Ms. Felicia." Felicia, whose emotions lost control, was interrupted by one of the maids behind her.

Felicia quickly calmed down and regained her sense. "Ah, yes, that's right. Maralene, bring the devices."

A young woman with dark hair and eyes nodded and went into a different room through a door that was on the side. Soon after, she came back, holding a few strange gadgets in hands. She presented them to Felicia. Felicia nodded, and smiling, took three gadgets from the six that were presented.

The maid who brought these gadgets immediately planted the other three onto Fei's neck, before shifting right back to where she stood in the beginning.

Although the maid's movements were very fluid, Fei could have easily stopped her from putting strange things onto her neck by grabbing her arm or moving away.

But Fei remembered what Mrs. Mary and Feechi told her.

To listen to Felicia.

So Fei decided to go along with whatever happens. As long as it doesn't involve her master's safety. She continued kneeling on the ground.

Felicia was surprised at the lack of reaction from her prisoner. Maybe she feels repentant for crossing Miss Eyrie. Felicia thought. She looked at Fei with a little more approval in her eyes. But things that need to be done still need to be done. Felicia grew serious. She propped her elbows onto the table.

"You committed a serious crime. So now, you need to be punished." She pressed a button on one of the gadgets.

Fei, who was kneeling, felt a wave of pain hit her entire body. But it wasn't too severe, so she endured it.

Felicia was incredibly surprised. Just how sturdy is her body? She pressed a button on the second gadget.

Fei could not kneel with her back straight any longer, and she dropped down to all fours. The pain was excruciating, and she could hardly feel her hands, but she did not lose her reason and held on. She didn't care about following instructions anymore and focused her attention on battling the pain and nausea.

After waiting for a few seconds, Fei's condition stabilized a bit, although it was still terrible. Felicia, who was watching, could hardly believe her eyes when she saw that Fei was still holding on. She was completely shocked and terrified.

This device is used to interrogate the most stubborn of criminals that would not yield after a normal interrogation. Normally, after the first button is pressed, the patient would feel immense pain and collapse while screaming in agony. Very few people, only those with the best physiques, could endure withholding their secrets to the point that the second button needed to be pressed. But it has never been heard of to use the third button. This button was only there as a backup, never to be used.

Felicia grit her teeth and pressed the button on the last gadget. She needed to get certain information from Fei in order to complete her mission.

Fei, who thought she had overcome the challenge, convulsed on the ground.

Her mind was jumbled into a mess, and the vision in front of her blurred into fuzzy colors. Her heart seemed to jump out of her chest and her entire body was out of her conscious control. She couldn't feel anything but a sharp pain encompassing her brain that seemed to grow worse by the second.

She couldn't even count the time, something that she subconsciously did ever since her awakening.

But even then, Fei did not scream out. It was simply an unfamiliar gesture to her. But to Felicia, Fei truly seemed to be a monster incarnate. She was still holding on, even after being tortured to this extent. Why?

Fei's eyebrows scrunched up. She tried to focus on the one word that always seemed to be the most familiar and the word that she always thought of. After doing so, the pain seemed to subside a little.

Master.

Master.

Master.

At this moment, the entrance of Felicia's room suddenly burst open.
