The Match Against Seiho

Ever since Kuroko met Kiyoshi, they started making a lot of combo moves. They hadn't been used in matches because they didn't have a high success rate but they were in a clutch position and there was nothing else they could do. Since they were only for tight positions, Kuroko didn't want to use a lot of those moves.

The crowd went wild, and Seiho frustrated. Seiho never expected Kiyoshi to attempt to score. After that, they were shaken up. They didn't know what was coming next and so they broke their formation out of anxiety. Kuroko quickly took advantage of their plight and scored two two-pointers. Not only Kuroko but also Masanori, the shooting guard started scoring threes. By the end of the third quarter, HBI was beating Seiho by 10 points. The score was 23-13.

Tomoki Tsugawa, Seiho's leader shouted at the team. He said"Seiho players, is this what you want to do with our good name? Do you want to embarrass our seniors? We are a great team. One of the three kings of Tokyo!" A fire lit in the players' eyes. The legendary Seiho's defence fortified. Seiho was back.

HBI had no more tricks up their sleeve. They didn't want to lose. They wanted to make it to their first-ever InterHigh. They wanted to come back with the trophy. Kuroko hated the thought of losing. He hated the fact that Kagami might have been right. There it was. He was drowning. He was submerged in water and going deeper and deeper. As he went deeper, his plays started to improve. He was faster stronger, and, most of all, he was zipping through the defence. Kuroko started to score. He was in the zone.

Kuroko kept on moving, no matter the circumstances, and he kept on scoring over and over again. The score was 64-32 to HBI. Kuroko collapsed. He was unable to move. The rest of the players carried on Kuroko's will and won the game 72-54. After the end of the match, HBI visited Kuroko at the hospital. His body couldn't take the stress of the zone. He had sprained his ankle and couldn't play for the rest of the preliminaries.
