The Power Forward

When Sazama Sora was a kid, he was diagnosed with down syndrome, a disease that affects the height, and was very short. Even though he had this disability, his dreams of being a power forward who could touch the rim never faded away. He loved basketball. He always wanted to see how the metal felt for himself and continued to play in hopes of a miracle happening. Sora always wanted to be tall. So he kept playing basketball and praying that he could one day jump high enough to touch the rim. "Sora means sky." He thought.

So he continued to play basketball. He applied to The best middle school basketball team around Teiko Academy. He wasn't even given the chance to try out and he was angry. He went to a middle school with a horrible basketball team so that he could be a starter but he still wasn't given the chance to try out on that team either. He was made a member but he wasn't really a member. He was told to wash the tams clothes and prepare snacks. He was basically a manager. He never had the chance to play once but he did play recreationally. There was a time he played two on one against two of the team's starters and beat them five to two. Though he was short, his dreams of being a power forward weren't devoured.

When he went to high school, he joined the HBI. They actually allowed him to try out and he quickly became a starter there. His dream was realized. He was finally a starting power forward. Time passed, and he became 5'7". He was finally tall. It turned out that the doctor misdiagnosed his issue and he was just premature. He still had exceptional jumping power and not only did one dream come true, but three dreams also did. He was a starting power forward, he was tall, and he could touch the rim and dunk. He later started being called Sora, The Sky Dragon. His name was finally lived up to. "Sora means sky," He thought with a wide smile on his face.
