Excerpt of "The Origin of Humanity"
There was a world, once of boundless hope.
It is said that long ago, when ancient creatures walked the land, the world wanted something more. Something that can grow eternally.
That was when humanity was created.
When humanity was born in the world, they had one goal.
Growth.
They wanted to grow stronger, to reach for the stars, to find whatever their heart desires. However, humanity is imperfect, and as it is every growing, it is ever changing.
Change always exited, and change humanity did.
For the worst.

I sighed, opened my eyes to see the sun a tiny bit barely rising over the horizon, turning the sky dark purple.
...it was a bit early, but that is fine.
I got up from my bed, and stretched stiffly.
...
It has been a few days since the orphanage was completed. Everything was going smoothly.
Except for the dreams. It wasn't much trouble...but it was annoying.
I started walking down the stairs, the lights and fire not being on. The orphanage feels strangely empty.
Silent.
Walking alone in a big building is quite the experience. It feels as if you're all alone in the world, and that nothing will ever hurt you. You feel as if you can do anything you want here.
As I walked down past each floor, I looked at both ends of the long hallways extending to the sides, to see if anyone is up. The halls were empty.
For humans, sleeping was a necessary, and so for the children who once needed to sleep...they were probably sleeping in, and so they won't be out and about until a few hours later..
Getting down to main floor, and with footsteps silently walking across the carpet floor, I moved towards the computer room, which is on the left hallway.
Like I mentioned earlier, on the main floor there is the library, the dining hall, the main bathrooms, and the computer room.
Two hallways exist on this floor, with the dining hall and bathroom to the right, and the library, another bathroom, and computer room to the left. I headed towards the left hallway.
Walking for a few minutes, I reached the computer room. It was at least the size of a normal Internet cafe-at least more than one hundred computers were set up.
I got to one of the computers, and sat down on the chair, turning it on.
After a few seconds I got on the Internet and searche for the latest news...
[Scandal between [S]-Rank Hunter and [A+]-Rank Hunter, the-]
[[SS]-Rank Hunter Jake Grotto captured [S]-Rank Dungeon-]
[More and more dungeons have been created! Is this the end of the world?]
I scrolled through the latest news with a bored face. It seems like anywhere else, the media versions of the world are always bias.
As I looked at each article, something caught my eye.
[The Holy Chuch since its founding 4 years ago is attracting more believers than ever before!]
...The Holy Church? It sounds uncomfortably familiar...
I clicked on the article, and started reading it.
Turns out the Holy Church was founded a year after the dungeon's came to this world, which was five years ago.
It is said that the Holy Church believed in the light-not a god or God. On that day four years ago, a massive dungeon break started in Italy, more specifically the Vatican City. The sky was dark, and the air was hard to breathe. As the monsters rampaged in the city, and the hunters futiley tried to repel them.
Seeing there was no hope, many people despaired, desperately praying to anyone grant them salvation.
And salvation was granted.
An angel with white wings bathed in light appeared out of nowhere in the city. With its powers, all the monsters were swept away into the light, bringing peace back to the city.
As all the monsters were wiped away, the angel called order to the city, and appointed 5 humans, who also came out of nowhere, as the saints and saintesses, destined to save the world. And the people wholeheartedly agreed, seeing their miraculous power.
The angel disappeared, and the saints then stayed in the Sistine Chapel, and from that day on the city became a holy place.
That was when the Holy Church was born.
'...angels? In this world? If they aren't joking around, then is she...?' I rubbed my face in exhaustion.
I then tried to find information on them. No dice.
Apparently the light was so blinding, the angels figure and face wasn't seen or captured on video. Still, the sight of them brought hope back into the people. No wonder so many people are joining the Holy Church.
Of course, with so many people joining the church, there are certain...black sheeps amongst the group.
Religious fanatics.
That's why non-believers want to stay away from the church.
Apparently there were already several casualties not from monsters, but from human conflict. Hunters that joined the church fought with other hunters that don't believe in the light.
I shaked my head. Humanity will never stop causing conflict, not even here.
Anyways, the Hunter's Organization, made to keep the guilds in line, and the Holy Church are one of the few true powerhouses in the world. And they're mostly at odds with each other because of their beliefs.
One side are the people who wanted to capture dungeons freely, and the other side the believers who want non-believers to repent and join the light.
But still...angels?
If they are angels...then its obvious I must stay away. I gussed that me being here means that 'they' will come to.
Let's hope the other two will push the angels back, or at least hold them off.
Perfect meatshields.
I left the article and continued to look through the most recent ones.
...
Two hours passed as I continued to use the computer, looking online to see if the novels, manga, and anime I last left off in my first life is still here...and to my immense disappointment, they're gone.
Replaced by other different anime and manga, which were also interesting.
As I started to find myself drawn to a chapter, something touched my back, and I looked behind me...
Only to see Dollmaker and some of the children were there, crowding around me, with many of them still outside in the hallway.
It seemed like Dollmaker was the one to touch me on the back. Why not the shoulder? Because he was too short.
As I looked at him with a raised eyebrow, he then spoke to me with a blank face.
"I tried to to get your attention, but you didn't notice."
Turns out I was too deep into the story, huh?
"...sorry, I was too deep into a story."
He seemed to accept my apology, but when he tried to tell me something, a voice interrupted him.
"Hey, tell him about what we saw outside!" One of the other children, a girl, yelled from the back, the others nodding along with her.
Dollmaker nodded his head towards the voice, and turned back to me.
"We need to show you something, outside." As he said that, he raised his hands towards me.
...I stared at him in confusion, until I realized he wanted to be picked up. After looking him in the eye for seconds, and seeing that he was entirely serious, I picked him up.
Holding him, I was lead by the children to the outside.
Being lead outside, I noticed that several other children were already outside, looking at...
A blue dungeon portal.
