Star Skyline

"Ready to crush them without your damn poison, Freckles?" Katsuki said proudly, eyes still trained on the cheering crowd outside the doorway.

Guilt and annoyance filled her at the question. Guilt that she had to still drink, even after their training, and annoyance that he still didn't understand why she had to do it until she gained more control. Before she could answer though, their class was announced, and they all started walking onto the field.

Star shrunk behind Katsuki, who stood confidently and took the crowd head-on. Gripping the grapple gun in her pocket tightly, her knuckles turned white with the amount of effort it took to remain standing. She reassured herself that it would probably get better on the obstacle course outside of the stadium, and that she'd only have to deal with the three hundred-ish students instead of the thousands of crowd members.

As Present Mic announced the General Education Class, her class and theirs glared at each other. The insult that had come with the text, and the insults thrown around outside of Class 1-A's door, still on everyone's minds. Star found Hitoshi's eyes, and he nodded to her seriously. She chuckled and waved back, ignoring his eye roll. She was proud to see him taking this so seriously. This may be war, but her friends always came first.

As Midnight started talking, both the crowd and a few of the male young adults in their class were in awe of her outfit. As Jiro smacked Calamari across the face with her headphones, Star glanced at Katsuki and was kind of relieved to see him focused intently on the screen. Frowning at her obvious reaction, she tried to focus back on what the R-rated Hero was talking about, but was surprised when Katsuki started walking up to the stage.

"He's the first year rep?" All Might junior- oops, Deku- asked curiously, and a little nervously.

Oh, that's what Star had missed. Good for him, after training with him for two weeks, she wasn't surprised. This stuff seemed to be second nature for him.

"He did finish first in the entrance exam test, I guess." Sero nodded, "With Kirishima here coming in second!"

Kiri chuckled nervously, scratching the back of his neck.

"Only in the hero exam! Ha ha!"

Star glanced over to the voice and glared when she saw the twerp who had been bullying her in line that one day standing next to Monoma, glaring viciously.

Apparently Katuski also noticed this, because he leaned toward the mic as he stared the guy down. "I just wanna say that… I defeated villains… And you extras are next."

The General Education students, minus Hitoshi, all started yelling at once. Midnight cut through the noise with her whip, announcing, "Without further ado, it's time to get started! The first event is…"

Everyone waited with baited breath as Star instead pushed her grapple gun further into her pocket, and started casually walking toward the gate.

She didn't fancy getting shoved through the tunnel, and already knew the rules anyway. Deku noticed, and being the observant guy he is, casually followed after her. Smiling, she shook her head. Nothing gets past this guy, does it? She'd have to remember that if she ever fought him. He's probably already figured out a way to get around her quirk in a one on one fight.

Soon, the line she had been waiting for was said into the mic.

"As long as you don't leave the course, you're free to do whatever your heart desires!"

Taking out her grapple gun, she took a deep breath, preparing herself. She remembered that even though this didn't look like it, this was the first obstacle. Deku also seemed to come to this conclusion, and Star was still bitter that even when she was this drunk, his thoughts still broke through.

As Midnight asked for everyone to take their places, Deku breathed in relief at their place in the front. She winked as he looked over to her, and his face went a little pink in embarrassment. He refocused himself and clenched his fists determinedly.

Midnight yelled "BEGIN!", and they both shot forward, ignoring Present Mic's and -apparently- Aizawa's commentary. She sped through the tunnel, and not that she'd ever admit it to Katsuki, but she was now really thankful for him not going easy on her during their runs.

Slushie gained the lead and brushed past her, keying her into his train of thought. She barely had time to let out a curse and jump before he froze the ground behind him in ice, trapping most of the students, except apparently Class 1-A. Grinning, she watched as Katsuki, Belly Boi, Momo, and Kiri soared over the ice and started catching up to Slushie.

"Nice one, Shoto!" Momo called out, "But not enough to keep me down!"

She was obviously still upset about what he had said to Jiro and Deku.

He took a second to look back and let a rare, soft smile ghost his features, "I didn't doubt that for a second."

Her expression faltered, and a small smile replaced it.

"I won't let you take first so easily, ya icy hot bastard!" Katsuki yelled as he exploded forward.

"Not falling for that one again!" Mashirao grinned, leaping above the ice.

As the group sped ahead, the rest of the unfrozen students carefully made their way across the ice. Star had the most trouble, and landed hard on her knees. A hand pulled her up, and she looked into the blank eyes of someone she didn't know.

"Um.." She looked at the person on the guy's shoulders though, and laughed. "Seriously Hitsohi?"

He shrugged, moving ahead, "You have your quirk advantages, and I have mine, Olive. Don't think I didn't notice that grapple gun. Maybe if you put it in your pocket, you'd have better balance." Smirking lazily over his shoulder, he chuckled as she cursed and put it away.

They reached the next obstacle, and everyone was stopped, even the people in the lead. Standing tall above the students were giant robots, eyes glowing red. Letting out a whistle, Star noticed they were even bigger than what she had heard from Aizawa's thoughts. "Not this again." Hitoshi grumbled.

"Tsk, no wonder you didn't pass. I wouldn't have either… Man what a rigged test." She huffed, the reality of her privilege hitting her. Hitoshi just nodded, alert as Slushie froze the robots in one sweep. Star had seen his ice before as his partner for the first assignment, but was again left breathless by the beauty and power of it. Hitoshi also watched in muted awe.

"What is with your class…" He sighed. Star didn't have a response as the robots came crashing down.

"There's someone stuck in the ice! Are people seriously going to die?!" One of the students yelled anxiously.

Hitoshi and Star's eyes snapped to the ice that was cracking, and Kiri popped out dramatically, his hardened form glistening with the water left over from the ice tomb.

Hitoshi whistled, "Now that's a debut…"

"Man, anyone else but me could've been killed by that!" Kiri exclaimed, shaking his head. Seconds later, someone else crashed through the ice as well, revealing the guy from Class 1-B that had been yelling at Katsuki in front of the Class 1-A classroom.

"I'll smash that ice guy when I get my hands on him!" The silver man roared as he emerged. "Anyone other than me would have been killed…"

The two men looked over each other and groaned as they saw they had similar quirks, crying as they ran forward. "How are we going to stand out now?!"

"We can team up together for now, let's create a path-" The student was interrupted as Katsuki shot above the rest of the students, blasting high above the robots.

"I'm going to win, no matter what!" He promised, pushing himself harder. The rest of Class 1-A followed one by one, each using their quirks to their advantage. Hitoshi got down from where he was perched, and him and Star dodged their way through the mess of moving metal.

"Thank god for Mashiro, am I right?" Star grunted, barely missing being hit as she ran through.

Hitoshi smiled, "Thank goodness for All-Star, indeed."

He moved easily though the robots, not having any close calls. Deku also moved flawlessly, focusing on his movement. It was obvious that everyone who had dealt with villains in real life had the advantage facing the enemy robots. And it wasn't just Star, Hitoshi, and Mashirao who had that advantage anymore. All of Class 1-A had to survive through the USJ, and like a dark cloud with a silver lining, it had prepared them to not hesitate now either. This was accented by the cannon blasts coming from in front of them, Momo standing tall like a war goddess, open shirt flapping dramatically in the wind.

When they reached the next obstacle, Star didn't hesitate, knowing what it was. As she got her grapple gun ready, Hitoshi touched her arm. She rolled her eyes at his unspoken thoughts. It was his way of showing her he wasn't trying to trick her with his quirk.

She paused as she listened, and understood his point. If she was anyone else, he would use his quirk on her since she had a way across. He was unable to handle the power of his quirk though, and had a hard time bringing people back from it, so he was asking her to help him so he wouldn't have to use it.

"Sure, Hito." She moved to aim it and his larger hand covered hers, chuckling nervously.

"We really are helping each other then, 'cuz maybe I should be the one aiming…" He lazily said, shooting her a pointed look. Huffing, she didn't argue.

Maybe, JUST MAYBE, it was beneficial. Not that she'd admit it.

She let him take the gun, and he crouched down so that she could climb on his back.

"You really have been working out with Mashirao!" She commented, surprised at how well he handled her weight. He scoffed at her unintentional insult, and pulled the trigger. Pressing the button, they were pulled through the air towards the hook, hitting the wall hard as they reached it.

They both let out a groan and pulled themselves up to the flat top. As Hitoshi leaned over to unhook it, Star watched in awe as the pink haired girl she had been cheating off of a week prior flew over them with multiple shiny gadgets, cackling. "Woah…" She breathed.

Hitoshi snapped a finger in front of her face and pulled her back before she tumbled over the edge in surprise. "Heh… sorry!"

She climbed back on him, and he pulled the trigger for the last time, pressing the button and bringing them to the end of the canyon. They pulled themselves up and she groaned. "If I can barely not fall off the edge of a cliff, how on earth am I going to handle a freaking minefield?!"

They both started running, and were relieved to see they were likely still in the top 20.

"Minefield?" Hitoshi echoed, eyebrows raising.

"Oops.. Oh well. Yeah, a stupid minefield. I had enough trouble with the gun, so I couldn't make anything else."

It was fine if Hitoshi knew, he'd find out in a few minutes anyway.
