Delyn paced before the gate watching the road willing the party bringing his master's bride to arrive. He paused realizing he had never gotten the young woman's name. He frowned up at the tower that his master was no doubt in either drinking, reading, or smoking something or another. Drakes where nearly as long lived as stupid dragons why was he out here waiting for master's bride when he should be. Delyn couldn't help but feel some anxiety. Brenton was by no means a patient man despite his age. Brenton was actually very young for a dragon. Delyn had always served the Wyleans from the day he hatched Brenton had been in his care.
Once full dark fell Delyn sighed and went begrudgingly to tell his prickly employer that is bride was no where insight.
Brenton was bent over the Seer's Pool when Delyn poked his head into the open door. The Seer's Pool was a large oval basin with a mirrored bottom, and was covered in a thin layer of water. Delyn wasn't sure how the magic worked exactly Drakes where not know for their magical abilities. Oh sure, he could shape change into any living creature and do a bit of domestic magic, but nothing like a Dragon could. Brenton had his back to the door, and was gazing into the water with a great deal of intrest. Delyn cleared his throat and said, "Master the young woman still has not arrived perhaps they where delayed on the road." Delyn waited nervously for the master to reply, and was taken aback when Brenton burst out laughing uproariously.
"Oh dear Delyn I know, come look what the little minx did." Brenton waved his servant over excitedly. Delyn raised an eyebrow and peered into the water. At the bottom he saw five guards laying slumped, at first he thought them dead but one rolled over arm thrown over his face as if to hide his eyes from the dying sunlight.
"They are just asleep." Delyn said not that impressed. Hell he could knock a man out for a few hours. Brenton shook his head at him and continued speaking fast with excitement.
"She is not only keeping them asleep, but she is sleeping while doing it. Not only that, she put a spell on her eyes it changed how the appeared, and allowed her to see in the dark. Not even I have thought about just changing my eyes to see in the dark." Brenton paused waiting for Delyn to join in his excitement.
"But...you see fine in the dark." Delyn said not comprehending his masters rabid fascination with this small pale girl. Brenton just stared at him as if he where a moron. Delyn cleared his throat, and continued changing the topic.
"Shall I go fetch her then?" Delyn asked staring pointedly anywhere, but at his frustrated master.
"No..no..I think I will go reclaim my wayward bride. You stay here and I don't know clean something." Brenton said shooing away his servant eager to get going suddenly.
"Master, Do we even know her name?" Delyn asked curious. Brenton froze in his preperation to leave.
"Uhhhhh.." Was all the brilliant Dragon King could say.
